Since there is a flash on this camera, its really important to think about your subject. For exempel the flash only works if the subject is close to it, i think its like 2 meters or something like that, otherwise the picture will turn out really dark. That can be the reason why the picture of Christmas decorations pic turned out the way it did. And the home setting takes in the most light and the biggest sun takes in the smallest amount. So, if you're outside and its sunny and the camera wants you to chose the smallest sun, choose the biggest one instead and the picture wont turn out super bright. Also, think about the focus range :)) love this video
Here's a suggestion for those with a polaroid. When wanting natural light, make sure whatever it is you are taking a picture of is in front of the sun. Meaning, make sure the sun is facing the person/object you are taking a picture of. It makes the photo a lot nicer!
I got mine about a couple months ago a few days before my birthday because I was so eager and wantched to know what it was! I had been wanting one multiple years before that. Finally, I took pictures for everyone that wanted it. and heres a few tips and tricks from me for the period that I've had it in! 1. when you are putting the film cartridge in, DO NOT take it out until you are COMPLETELY out of film! If you take it out and put it back in the pictures you take will turn completely white. If you take it out it tricks the camera into thinking theres none left so if you take a picture it wont work the first time. It happened to me and I thought i was out and took another one of the floor by mistake and wasted a picture. If you aren't sure stay in position if it happens and try again. If it doesnt work after a second time, its out of film. 2. I have found that the best way to take pictures is outside where its extremely sunny because if your in a dark room and its day you can take a picture and it will still turn out very dark because it isnt a high quality camera. 3. When taking a picture, if your outside remember to set the mode on sunny/very sunny etc... or else the picture will turn out black. 4. When taking pictures do not take them if they arent important or else you'll just have a ton of polaroid pictures of nothing just sitting around and it takes space up. And it also wastes the money because i completely agree, film is expensive and sometimes you make decisions not to take pictures because your afraid it will take away a ton of money. 5. When you buy the camera, but a photo album with it. polaroid pictures wear down in direct sunlight over the course of a few years. 6.Get a nice secure place for your camera when buying it because they are fragile and break easily. (for examply keep mine on my shelf and also for decoration) 7.DO NOT SHAKE THE PHOTO! Whenever the photo comes out, you may be forced of habit to shake the photo. DO. NOT. SHAKE. THE. PHOTO. it ruins the quality of the photo and you will most likely be displeased with the outcome. 8. IF you are a parent and are considering buying this camera for your child, make sure they are of the right age. (12 - 15 and older) Because the film is expensive and the cameras themselves are around 60 - 90 dollars. So unless your child is capable of paying for it themselves, I suggest waiting until they are older to properly handle the camera with care, 9. If you are getting the camera do not clean it with a rag. they usally come in packs with soft cleaning towels specifically for it. do not wet the rag to wash it. just scrub it off. In conclusion, I completely suggest getting the instax mini 7-9 because those are my favorites! I love the vintage look of the camera and it's beautiful. I couldn't want anything better then it! IF your young and getting into photagraphy, It's an amazing choice; Anyways, I hope you enjoy your experiences with the camera after these tips and if they helped you please tell me and if you have problems i might be able to solve them! Goodbye
If you follow the instuction on the setting on the camera but still get to exposed or to dark pictures what to do then ? and what to do it it gets a big round white dot in the middle of the piture when used outside?
Charlotte, It may be too shaded when you take the picture or the film may have been taken out and tampered with. The film does not usually turn dark if your outside in sunny conditions. If you follow the instructions on the camera you are most likely to turn out with a photo you enjoy! Although what you are asking is quite confusing. Because there is no way to re-take a picture on the camera, because it's film. So you cannot make the photo change to a lighter color. But here is a future tip: As soon as you take a picture outside, put the picture in a very dark place like a closet and do not mess with it at all for 90 minutes because it must develop and it can get messed up. If you touch the back of the film while it is developing that might be the issue of the white spots. Also, do not leave your film in a hot place because it will expire it. Keep your film in the wrapper until you use it. Best of luck to your camera and I hope this helped :)
I recently got one because i passed my finals (so frakin hard). They color of mine is blueish gray. Im planning to go to korea and im gonna bring it with me! Nami island tho! Little tip: when you go out, if its sunny, put the settings on the biggest sun and put it somewhere dark after taking it(maybe put it in your pocket) and it will look very vivid and vibrant!
I went to Korea last summer, Nami Island was really pretty!! I suggest going to Myeong-dong the next time you get a chance to go to Korea. There's a lot of street food and souvenirs!! Thanks for the tip too, I'm going to Japan this summer and I wanted to get good pictures 😄
Hi-Key can be used when the "home" setting is originally selected. It may help in brightening the background but could over expose the subject. Test it out to see if there is a major difference or if it gives you a better result
I've noticed that if you take a picture outside when it's winter you should rush inside or somehow keep the picture warm or it will have alot of dark blue at the top and bottom. I also noticed that even if the picture was taken a few minutes ago it can still get ruined by the cold. If you let it develop somewhere bright after taking a bright photo it can also ruin it. So make sure your pictures are room temperature and somewhere dim while developing, but keep in mind that pictures also get kinda ruined over time if exposed to light so if you're not hanging them up keep them in a box ツ
I watched your unboxing a while ago and your honestly the only person who’s unboxing video I watched without skipping. I love your voice, personality, your room, and you’re absolutely gorgeous :) 🌻
Oh my goodness you’re beautiful. Also, thank you for the tips! I got my Polaroid not too long ago but most of the pictures I’ve taken have had irregular exposure
Took a surprise picture of my friends and one of them was blinking, one of them was covering her face and another was just staring off into the distance. And even though it was an awful picture the colours worked so well and that moment was caught in time and represented in a physical object, and I’ll always remember that moment.
I am 11 year old and I might get one in my 12th b day which is in the next 3 weeks. I like photographing things and I think I am good at it...should I get one or not? I am not really afraid of the camera price but the photo thing price Edit : I got the same one in the video yesterday! I love it! I got the box which has the case, album and other accessories. Totally recommend! Also the smoky white looks the best because it can blend in with any background
GalaxE maybe you should invest into a digital camera instead. or a smartphone with a good camera like an iphone because an instant camera isn't going to be what you're looking for
Well, I got the same exact camera that is shown in this video. So in your case, the only thing that would get in your way is price. Therefore, if you are really dedicated and are willing to spend a good amount of money on the actual photo borders, you should save some money for it. Make sure that whoever is paying for the photos knows this though, because I didn’t know this before I got the idea of the camera in mind. The camera itself is pretty good, it’s just the price of the photos.
The settings is how bright the flash will be so if you put it on the sun there wont be a bright flash because your supposed to use it when your outside and it is bright outside
Maybe you shoud try not to use the big Sun or the "little" sun. Try to use cloudy. So the sky looks more blue then dark. Or anything else looks better. I hope i can help you 😊
hey hun on the instructions it says whatever lighting setting is lit up use the option the the left of it to take pics(it make the picture brighter) i do that and haven't had an issue, hope this helps! :)
The camera can only focus on an object that’s about 2-9 feet away, and about the black backgrounds, it’s because of the flash. The flash puts all the light on the subject of the photo and usually doesn’t get to the background. It happens on digital camera’s too, like on your phone.
softy minn i literately look a pic of some roses in my garden while it was sunny went onto the recommended settings and it came out super dark even though you could still see the roses it didn’t come out as good :( any tips for me

Laura Corbett that’s the one I have and it’s a really pretty color in person and if you order it on Amazon it’s will be cheaper then in the store because my grandpa got mine for like 60 online and it’s like 80-90 in the store sometimes 100 depending on what store you go to
Laura Corbett nice. I think that is around the price that my grandpa paid for when he got it for my birthday like 3 years ago and it’s so much cheaper that way then in store
This is a tip! The first picture you take is supposed to be black bc that’s how the camera works. I thick that you should search up “ Tip for a Polaroid camera! I’m not trying to hate. I Love your vids! ❤️❤️ I hope you like my tips!
You’re expecting digital results from an analogue camera, this camera takes FILM, which relies on light to expose it, to make your photo. If you take a photo indoors, they won’t be full of colour, your subject is going to be brighter than your background, it is just the way film is. You should get a vintage Polaroid camera, they are much more superior. Although, Polaroid film looks more retro, it all depends what you want.
I feel like the shitty quality and exposure gives it character and nostalgia to the pics u took but it’s really shitty and stressful to get good pics, with the lighting.
I was waching a other video and she said if it's to bright it goes black were it's to bright and she took a picture of the sun and it was a black dots because it was too bright BTW I love your shirt and hair💛
Ikilltherock omg really, my brother is buying me this camera & im watching all these videos & they say the film is 20 dollars for 20 films and i’m like wow smh
Don’t say that you’re beautiful people always going to hate and I got the camera same as you and I just Burley use it so I am Burley taking a picture of it and trying to figure it out how to take it cuz mine some of them are black and some of them are light and they are good and I think I want to try tomorrowslme place to see the different. For my suggestion is take a picture put the names on it like on the camera that way it would be easy. And we won’t get confused and try what fans are trying to say to you for recommend what to do😃. I really like this camera because it’s a super easy type of film compared to having to take a picture, clean it out it through chemicals blow it up and all of that. but it is frustrating haha.
Get it!! You won't regret it. It is tough at the beginning since film = money and you'll most likely waste the first pack of film but it's cute and a very nice quality camera!! Of course it all depends on what you like

My instax mini 9 (I just got it today), isn’t working. I read the whole instructions packet, and I did exactly what it said, but the film isn’t coming out of the camera after I take a picture. Do you know what I can do to fix it?
I've found that taking pictures outside when it is really sunny, then immediately after it prints place it somewhere pitch black dark, like a pocket or under your shirt for a few minute really helps the color a lot!
Polaroid is very dependent upon temperature. As always, Polaroid does a fair job of reproducing a few colors most of the time.

Same
i’m getting one for my friend’s wedding gift, hope she like it 😝
I like when you talk that way I'm not bored your good at keeping it entertaining while being informational :,)
that's so sweet of you
Oh my goodness you’re beautiful.
I am not really afraid of the camera price but the photo thing price
Edit : I got the same one in the video yesterday!
I recommend a huawei phone because they are cheap and take nice photos follow me on insta im ama0708 so i can send u some

Happy birthday 🎂
You go guurl! Laugh at those hate comments! You are beautiful and have a wonderfull personality!❤❤
Be yourself!
Kara Snowgarden thank you sm!!
The settings is how bright the flash will be so if you put it on the sun there wont be a bright flash because your supposed to use it when your outside and it is bright outside
Ok but like I love your room sm???
Paint the ones that dont turn out
Money saving hack: if you know you’ll use it, buy it in bulk. Pack of 50 cost 32$ last time I checked!!!
Kayla R. Just bought x
Nice! My best photo is taken outside too and the sky behind the object I was trying to get the picture of was sooo beautiful and everyone says it too
On what setting?
@@kcnvrskacy2156 to be honest I can't remember anymore, but since it was cloudy outside it could have been cloudy one or idk how it's called
High key actually works pretty well the flash is just enough for home and outside
when i take pictures in the light they come out super dark how do i fix that?
@Peachy Simming thank you :))! i got one for christmas and didn't really know what the settings meant
Maybe you shoud try not to use the big Sun or the "little" sun. Try to use cloudy. So the sky looks more blue then dark. Or anything else looks better.
I hope i can help you 😊
Cmon sis, let the charisma shine on us mere mortalllsssss. Loved the video, thank u so much
It's the weirdest thing....i was looking up reviews for this camera to see if it was worth buying....but instead i ended up falling in love. 😩
😂😂😂😂
hey hun on the instructions it says whatever lighting setting is lit up use the option the the left of it to take pics(it make the picture brighter) i do that and haven't had an issue, hope this helps! :)
shayna shantell that’s good advice, I didn’t seem to have caught that in the instructions, thank you!🙏🏼
shayna shantell wait what does the instructions say ?
You’re literally so pretty
The camera can only focus on an object that’s about 2-9 feet away, and about the black backgrounds, it’s because of the flash. The flash puts all the light on the subject of the photo and usually doesn’t get to the background. It happens on digital camera’s too, like on your phone.
I have Polaroids from my friend cause she took it to school and the pics turned out super good
I just took a pic in my room, with the house setting, and then I put under some shade. All the colors and shade came out really well
What settings do you usually go for when outside and inside bc the Polaroids I have is really yuck even tho I follow the recommended settings....
softy minn i literately look a pic of some roses in my garden while it was sunny went onto the recommended settings and it came out super dark even though you could still see the roses it didn’t come out as good :( any tips for me
Thank you so much for making this video ❤️ it was so helpful and gave me a ton of info and stuff to look out for! im getting one of them for xmas and this video really helped 👍 also you're super beautiful and adorable ❤️ thanks again for the video

Hi army!!💜💜💜
I have the pink one and I love it 🥰 I haven’t tested it outside though sooooooo.....😭 I don’t know but I like the quality 💖
Girl plz don’t listen to the haters. You are a queen 👑
I'm trying to buy a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera. I want the pastel pink one
Laura Corbett that’s the one I have and it’s a really pretty color in person and if you order it on Amazon it’s will be cheaper then in the store because my grandpa got mine for like 60 online and it’s like 80-90 in the store sometimes 100 depending on what store you go to
Zoe Maurer I've found one on Amazon for $64 and free shipping
Laura Corbett nice. I think that is around the price that my grandpa paid for when he got it for my birthday like 3 years ago and it’s so much cheaper that way then in store
You should get the mini 9 tho because its the more updated one and the mini 8 is not being sold anymore i think
ANG3L VAL3NT1N3 I've seen that Amazon has the Instax Mini 8 camera in pastel pink
I want that camera so bad !!!!
I have a pink one
Im selling mine. Icy blue
@@ichbinlyn2928 why would you sell it tho
This is a tip! The first picture you take is supposed to be black bc that’s how the camera works. I thick that you should search up “ Tip for a Polaroid camera! I’m not trying to hate. I Love your vids! ❤️❤️ I hope you like my tips!
She said “No! Please don’t.” Lol I love her
You’re expecting digital results from an analogue camera, this camera takes FILM, which relies on light to expose it, to make your photo.
Lighted IS a word, you were correct!
shocked about that one
Your room is so pretty....
No one pick on her
why does my pictures come out black? like pitch black even when its on the home button
Yesterday I got one for Christmas!! I love it
I was waching a other video and she said if it's to bright it goes black were it's to bright and she took a picture of the sun and it was a black dots because it was too bright BTW I love your shirt and hair💛
The cloud isn’t used very much so really be sure that the weather out matches the light setting because sometimes the camera isn’t always right
4:05 the reason why the background is black is because the subject (you) is too close to the camera
Don't listen to the trolls your really pretty and your video's are great
Angela thank you
What you need to do is cover the flash 100% it works my intax mini 9 pictures came out so much brighter and better!!
Boe Joe is it better than an iphone camera ?
What about outside?
I love the quote “ I want to waste my money “ 😂😂😂😂
Film on wish dot com sells for about 6 or 7$ way cheaper than like 11 or 12$
Bestbuy sells film for 9$ which is also pretty good
Ikilltherock omg really, my brother is buying me this camera & im watching all these videos & they say the film is 20 dollars for 20 films and i’m like wow smh
pro tip! you can buy cheaper film on wish.com
Is it the right film tho? I'm always scared to order off that site because it's always a hit or miss.
Check aliexpress too, usually it's the cheapest on wish or ali so it's worth checking both
@@kierstin4869 look at the reviews, on ali theres a lot like so many ot should be reliable
Nooo, not a reliable website. I got tons of stuff from there that didn’t arrive. :( I recommend amazon or eBay.
Don’t buy film from amazon.
idk if I missed it, what’s the best setting to take an image outside? I’ve made a few attempts but they all turn out white!
Did you take out the sheets box thing from the camera before taking the pictures?
Thanks! I got mine in ice blue for Christmas and this really helped
And I’m glad I found you Because you Explain it so well❤️.
I have a instax mini link and a instax mini 9 and what really helps when i print a photo i make my bedroom really dark and color my led lights red so the photos get more color (when i go away i switch of the lights and put in in a bag)
I got an ice blue instax mini nine for my birthday today
Yeah I hate that people hate bc if they really think that stuff then just stop watching the video and go to another Video I mean it's not that hard.
I really like this camera because it’s a super easy type of film compared to having to take a picture, clean it out it through chemicals blow it up and all of that. but it is frustrating haha.
I was looking on how to use this camera, and ended up in love 🤩
soo i was gonna get the camera but now im thinking of not getting it... thoughts?
Get it!! You won't regret it. It is tough at the beginning since film = money and you'll most likely waste the first pack of film but it's cute and a very nice quality camera!! Of course it all depends on what you like
Maybe you should get the instax printer! Than you can choose pictures from your phone:)
i would totally get it, the memories that you take one the camera are more treasurable that on your phone :)
window Cleaner y
Update! I got the camera for Christmas😂💖
Can someone help me? I adjust my camera to the right setting yet it still comes out really dark and I don’t know what to do!
This honestly helped me so much, ily! Tysm for the tips

Girl wtf why are there haters in this fucking world saying nonsense? Like why do they care. Are they that depressed and losers that they have to put all their pain on you. Jesus! Love ya girly. 💘😍
Awhile ago me and friends actually took a good picture 😂 and I was like

Really most useful video I have ever seen ❤️
I love your room and the video helped me so much!
I want to get one so I can take cute pictures of my friends and put them on my wall🥺
3:59 I appreciate this review and also the, "I usually take them inside, and...then I....I fuck up!" Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣 keep doing whatcha doing girl.👍
I have a question, does it damage your camera to take a Polaroid of your phone screen
So what is the best if you want color in your pictures
Merry Christmas, I just, got this camera in a mint green, these tips, really, help.
My instax mini 9 (I just got it today), isn’t working. I read the whole instructions packet, and I did exactly what it said, but the film isn’t coming out of the camera after I take a picture. Do you know what I can do to fix it?
Chamomile Tea HI yes batteries !!! You need to make sure your batteries are good or it wont pront out
