    SUBFURY ART COMPETITION GUIDELINES
    1. Create a design for the t-shirt. This must include what you think a 'subfury' looks like. This can include Mishka (for example, a subfury might be a dragon/Mishka creature), or Mishka can be a separate thing in the design.
    2. Send your design to hellofuturemeentries@gmail.com (digital art and PNGs are preferable, but it's totally okay if you can't!)
    3. Wait and see who the finalists are for the t-shirt! DEADLINE: Unconfirmed as of yet, but you will have till at least the middle of August.

A group of Dragons can be called differently depending on the situation.
When they are in the air, it is most likely a *flock*.
In the episode "Edge of Disaster 1 and 2" Hiccup, Snotlout and Johann state that it's a wild *pack* of Dragons.
But, we heard in another episode that they spotted a large *herd* of Nadders migrating.
Also, when they first encounter Night Terrors, they call them a *swarm* of small Dragons.
So it depends on the species and situation these Dragons are - flying or on the ground.
Also! For your 20k special (which I'll be expecting by tomorrow), you could do a "world collide" type of thing - like maybe how the Avatar the Last Airbender universe and HTTYD universe collide together and are actually the same universe. It's just an idea, but I still think it would be cool.

A murder of dragons. After all, they are flying creatures that people dislike. Some types of birds when in a group are called murders, crows for example. Since most people dislike dragons, in some way, calling a group of them a murder of dragons would show your dislike of them.

Everyone I've seen in how to train your dragon, besides berk, valka, trader johaan, and the defenders of the wing have some problem with dragons. Perhaps I should clarify my earlier statement; people in httyd's world have a tendency to dislike dragons in one way or another.

    GOOD THEORY IDEA!!
in how to train your dragon the first movie there were zipple backs everywhere and you can occasionaly see then in gift of the night fury and riders and defenders of berk BUT in the netflix series and how to train your dragon 2 WHERE ARE THE WILD ROAMING ZIPPLEBACKS!!!!!!!!!!

    • @Beeba10
      @Beeba10 6 років тому +2

BirdGaming BG I know you wrote this a few months ago, but I just wanted to provide a possible explanation. In HTTYD, Gift of the Night Fury, Riders, and Defenders, the events happen either on or close to Berk. However, in Race to the Edge and HTTYD2, the events of the stories are set in lands quite far from Berk. It's possible Zipplebacks are more prevalent in and around Berk, perhaps even indigenous to the immediate surrounding area; if this is so, then it wouldn't be so unusual not to see them so far away from their normal dwelling :)

I did a bit of research and the most popular one is a thunder of dragons, but i've heard in the episodes that dragons are referred to as a pack if they're threatening or dangerous, and a herd if they're more docile. Then, large mixed groups are called colonies, nests or hives.

Collective noun for a group of dragons might be a 'flight' of dragons.

I'd say that a collective noun of dragons would probably be a ,cloud of dragons' like a 'cloud of bats'

Talking about "Gift of the Night Fury", I've got three questions which you may not be able to answer, but it's something to think about.
Fishlegs is initially able to prevent Meatlug from migrating. When Hiccup follows Fishlegs to see what he's up to, then opens the door to the barn, Meatlug escapes, leaving her eggs behind.
    1) all the dragons have already left, so there was no more social cue to follow the migration; Why would she go?
    2) since she already laid her eggs, wouldn't she feel more compelled to stay and protect her eggs, keep them warm and feed her babies once they hatch?
She obviously already mated, or else there wouldn't be any babies to hatch, so the migration can't be to find a mate. And considering that, when Hiccup gets to the migration location eggs are already hatching, the other dragons must have already mated as well.
I don't know how it works for dragons, but chicken eggs take 21 days to hatch. And usually the larger the animal, the longer the gestation/incubation period.
It's hard to determine the precise timeline, but when Stoick talks to Hiccup after Toothless takes off, Hiccup says "it's been 3 days". It isn't specified how long it was from the time the dragons took off to the time Toothless got his new tail. If one assumes the village meeting took place the very night the dragons took off, then from that you could calculate the entire story took place over the period of just one week. So:
    3) How could the dragons lay their eggs and have them hatch in less than one-third the time it takes chicken eggs to hatch?
On a tangent. With the television series, once Hiccup & Toothless started having issues with Alvin and then Daggar, it made no sense to me that Hiccup didn't immediately remake the tail he designed and made for Toothless in Gift of the Night Fury.
Once it became apparent that Toothless's very life was often at risk by not being able to fly on his own, Hiccup should have immediately made him a new tail so he could be independent. Yet all through Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk & HTTYD 2 Toothless remained dependent on Hiccup to fly regardless of how many times both their lives were in danger, and it was an issue that could have easily been resolved had Hiccup just made a new tail similar to the one in GOTNF.

It should be a thunder of dragons because when a huge 'group' of dragons fly over you it would sound like thunder
