@@joeymusic that would be rad! But I think the elitist mindset that people often had against Reaper is dwindling. Like my mix engineer, for instance, has used ProTools forever. i love it too, but i wouldn’t call it easy to use, because of it’s nearly endless ways of customizing/adjusting/optimizing it. it is nearly impossible to find something reaper can’t do, but to get it to do what you want, isn’t that simple mostly. actually it should have a giant options button, because you have to adjust properties about every 5 minutes. reaper is probably the best software ever written, but i wouldn’t call it easy to use. the default settings regarding folder management, paths etc. are quite pointless and need to be adjusted
As someone who has to mix on headphones, the MonitorFX feature is a life saver. The frequency response correction plugins and room simulation plugins sit in the MonitorFX tray and I never have to make sure that they are the last plugins on the master bus not do I need to turn them off prior to rendering audio out. Best investment in a software that I have ever made!
I mostly produce electronic electronic music inside reaper and i really like two of its features. First of all, reaper can do feedback loops. Just check one checkbox and here you have it. I use feedback loops as an ambient generating machine. It works especially well with filters that can self oscillate. Second feature i use quite often is an ability to record from one track to another. Lets say i layered a bunch of stuff, then instead of rendering it, i simply record an output from folder to a new track.

Just getting into Reaper and am really liking it! Seems almost to good to be true and am not sure how I’ve overlooked it for so long. Really enjoy your videos Miami you’re great!!!
I didn't know Reaper had a plugin mix knob that's so cool. I'm guessing that just mixes a blend of the unprocessed signal with the processed one. Similar to a parallel processing type of deal?
I'm a reaper user and I love it, but I find that the plugin mix knob usually sounds like its out of phase with the original signal. Could be my own problem but not sure.
@@codycreepcore Hmm, tbh I use it on the occasion, because I still prefer to have a seperate channel for parallel processing (to have the full control and easy automation and stuff), but I've never really feeled like it was out of phase with the original. I'll pay closer attention next time, thanks for the tip! :)
I first got reaper 5 yrs ago; &( I use FL/REASON/Mpc /Ableton etc) I and thought this program seems low budget lol. But after yrs of watching my homie use it & pushing it on me, I can say reaper is the truth.
First step to level up your reaper workflow is to watch Kenny from reapermania. I've been using reaper for 10+ years and EACH FREAKING VIDEO he's surprised me with something I still haven't learned about reaper.
Coming from Cool Edit Pro 2.0, Reaper is/was a great choice, I tried FL studio, Traktion, etc and I felt very limited during the trial periods, Reaper let's you get the full experience far before the rest, having the ability to open multiple tabs/sessions is great for drag and drop or copy paste, it's easier to reference mixes and it is a very simple program to work with. I'm no mixing master, but Reaper gives the user a chance to get an excellent work flow going far before the rest in my opinion 🙌
1:50 Apart from Reaper. Only FL Studio does it. But I prefer record and mix in Reaper since few months; very lite and extremely powerful. (I keep using fl for beatmaking). Anyways. I still do love JST's videos 💙🙏🏾
Love Reaper. Been a user and fan since Reaper 3 first came out. And themes--for years now, I've been a huge fan of the Commala theme, and most variations of it. If you haven't tried them, I'd definitely recommend! By far (to me) they are the most visually straightforward and quickest to navigate in my workflow. Check em out!
Reaper could be a great DAW. It's light CPU usage is awesome, but it's cluttered mess of menus and clunky UI hold it back. I want to love it, but man, they make it impossible.
I think what you want is achieved this way: open your mixer (e.g., CTRL-M). Look for the master track. It has a little (i) icon. Right-click. Select "dock mixer in docker". Now, obviously your docker can be floating as well, might wanna check the little ! in the bottom left corner of your docker, if it is. Right-click there, double-check "attach docker to main window" setting and one of the "attached docker position" settings. Hope that helps.
Hey guys, need some help. I usually freeze tracks after applying processing. Some time to time I want to unfreeze to make some modifications. Then I realized I might made some change, for instance editing or fades in and out. So when I want to undo the frozen track, reaper discard all modifications applied after freezing. Please could anyone help me out.
