Your not showing the filler plug position & refilling,.. or explaining how to get the right level..
I don't have a 4*4 Toyota but I do have a turbo diesel Volvo V70 and have watched loads of your videos and plan on watching more as I have learned more in the last few months about my car than I have in the last 20 years . I think your a smart fella , been watching some of your videos about EGR reduction plates and I think I'm going have to get one on my car.
Simple and effective instructions. I’m going to attempt this process. 2018 prado with 100k.
I am so thankful that you and whoever your team is exists. Also, I am thankful I purchased a 1kd hilux, I would never sell it, dont think I would upgrade to a newer hilux(not a fan of them) but these new 2024 Land Cruisers ….. if I have to, it would be one of those
If this is the first oil change after a few hundred thousand Km we usually pull the pan on our Dodge and chevy diesels to replace the filter as well as to see what the inside of the pan looks like. If it is relatively clean just drain and refill every 30 to 50000 miles is fine thereafter. The chevy and dodge transmissions are not great compared to the Toyotas from what I have heard so your technique is probably good cost effective advice.. The fill/drain technique is what we do as well to get some of what was left in the torque converter/radiator etc.Transmission flushes with machines have gotten a bad name but your fill/drain technique is great and without the risk of stirring up junk. Man there are a LOT of Pan bolts!

So even with v6 version with oil cooler, Same procedure, ie no need to drop cooler hose? The starting car running through gears automatically flush through the whole system ? No thermostat in the factory transmission
Do you have front bearings with hub for 200 series??
how much oil fill after dropping oil out and how many times need to repeat?
Is there a need to change that coarse metal oil filter if it is washed?

Anthony what are your thoughts with the method... drain pan and refill next disconnect the transmission recirc line at the radiator then using the transmission to pump out 2 litres then fill trans with 2 litres then again pump out 2 litres and fill until clear fluid appears ....just a different way to skin a cat ? Thanks for all your help you have saved me a fortune
I saw done this way also removing transmission hise from radiator and outting clear tube on and 2 litres at a time start car let it drain two litres then top up again over and over.
Cool, I was wondering about oil in trans, my 9,08 120 is nearly on 190,000K's, so it's safe for a while yet👍

Can the magnets inside the pan collect too much metal fragments if not cleaned and therefore allow the fragments to circulate through the valve body and wreck solenoids?
Yes .
The magnets will never stop working it is quite satisfactory until further notice
hi all i would suggest before emptying oil first, crack the filler plug first open, because if it burded or you cant get it off you are not going anywhere. You cant fill it up .LOL

Why not replace via the radiator hoses ?
Because you can’t drain it without running at dry

It’s not good to run the transmission dry, every flushing machine I have used is very expensive and adds oil at the same rate it removes therefore not cleaning the oil as well as draining and refilling each to their own the best way to flush/rinse something out is to drain as much as possible then refill it run it and drain it again not add fluid at the same amount it’s coming out it wastes a lot of oil and doesn’t do a good job for the same quantity of oil once again each to their own 🤷♂️😂✌️
Wow, this is like taking a shower without using soap...If I'm gonna spend all that money on good quality oil, I'd rather also change the strainer!

Are you filling it each time, then putting plug on, taking for drive through gears then back on hoist drain again, over and over ?or can you leave hand brake on and just filter through the gears then drop the oil again?

Shame you didnt show the filler spot with the 4-5 mm hex and clarify us it 4 or 5 mm hex on the refill?

Got to say this is one of your worst vids. I was just under my 2005 prado v6 petrol and easy to find the plug that emptied the ATF but finding the 5mm or 4 mm is it(you dont seem to know nor do you clarify it at any time. You dont show where the 5 mm bolt is nor do you show taking off the filler bolt. The filler bolt you show has no 5 mm hex key on it, so maybe you were on something when you did this. Half baked vid buddy sorry, its just half baked and best not to put a video like this on explaining it unless thats what you are going to show and all the steps.
This is one of your worst comments you need to see the playlists keep watching videos. You can’t just read one paragraph you need to read the whole encyclopedia playlists is what you need.
