Great Walk #2 - Hiking The Tongariro Northern Circuit | New Zealand

Summer 2020/21 offered us the chance to do a ton of hiking and exploring around New Zealand. We travelled for just under 2 months, and started the whole thing off with our 2nd of New Zealand's 10 "Great Walks". Located in Tongariro National Park (a Double World Heritage Site), the Tongariro Northern Circuit is the ultimate way to explore some of the country's most jaw-dropping landscape.
The 43.1km loop takes you up close and personal with some of the most epic active volcanoes on the North Island. If you are thinking of doing a Great Walk or even the Tongariro Alpine Crossing Day Walk (NZ's most hiked Day Walk), this video is a MUST WATCH, as we had fantastic views, and give you our full breakdown plus tips and tricks on how to maximize your time in Tongariro National Park.

Was pretty much like that. When I was there last in 35 years and seeing the odd person hear and there. That was when one could stay at Ketetahi hut when it was around.
