We got 125 acres of mixed bush and farm land in the Rodney district and I made a walking / riding track through the bush. Hats off to these guys who maintain those tracks. The cattle destroyed my track but it was good while it lasted.
Where do you go when you’ve experienced New Zealand’s Great Walks and have grown in experience and fitness and have developed self-sufficiency, survival and navigational skills, and want more? New Zealand has another hiking tier on offer - Tramping. There’s a plethora of backcountry tracks to explore e.g. New Zealand’s Southern Crossing, in The Tararua Forest Park, north of Wellington (the Nation’s capital) is a classic New Zealand Tramp. My video may entice you. Tramps are more remote and less peopled so plenty of time for quiet contemplation and respect and awe of nature. Happy and safe walking.
I'll be vlogging of all the New Zealand Great Walks over the next couple of years - the first stop is in a couple of months... Lake Waikaremoana!! I've been preparing by doing some of the other great day hikes that New Zealand has on offer, across the North and South Island. We're so luck here in New Zealand to have DOC taking care of the tracks and trails for us, and making sure that every person has an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the best of what nature has to offer - thanks guys! And wish me luck (and follow along if you want)!
@Morris Anderson Isn't it just great that we get to live somewhere that is so coveted by people all over the world! Have you ever done the Waikaremoana track?
Beautiful scenery but the colour grading was extremely saturated and kind of distracting which is a shame but yeah the greens blues and yellows are so overdriven
Abe Lincoln you seem like an honest and trustworthy bloke... come and see for yourself... just a note though, we have a pretty vibrant arts/film & theatre scene...
Please some body invite me to new zealand ,I am a software computer I think if we bring Some of caviour Fishes from Caspian sea to New Zealand lakes they can growing there because caspian sea is badly polluted by Russia & Iran
It's great to see that New Zealand still have pristine, well-preserved nature!
Don't come here we don't want you
Mesmirising. Brought a tear to the eye. I can't wait till summer to go back out there. DOC do an amazing job.
Oh geezz, I love this! I wished I am from there to experience this journey. Amazing views and tracks!
I have just learned SO much about Pekapeka!
Thankyou Doc for all the Mahi you guys do ❤️

Coming in 1 month, can't wait !
Mud on Rakiura is not a fallacy. Since the organised running on that track the mud is worse. I know because I got stuck in it
Great video's guys!

Doing just that :). Love it so much!
I'll be there in November !!!!
Pure Beauty :)
Csoda szep!
doc have a youtube channel
Nehmen Sie sich Zeit und wandern Sie durch die vielseitigen Landschaften Neuseelands.
Rakiura Track Stewart Island had the most muddy and poorly maintained tracks, thats coming from someone who completed those great 9 walks in NZ.
the funny thing is we saw more goats than any other animal on the wanganui river
How are taxes in NZ? How conducive is the NZ economy to entrepreneurs? Would you say NZ would be welcoming to expats (both the govt & people)?

I'm afraid software computer's are not welcome here only Hue man's .
And your polluted fish will be frowed opon !!
You would be welcome... the fish, not so much. They would likely stuff up the existing biodiversity.
