Thank you for making this video as it's exactly what I needed. My right rail track is messed up and the top shelf hangs on holding to the left rail as all the tiny balls from the right have eventually dropped off as the white plastic ridge-like clip that holds them kept cracking small pieces at a time. Wish there is the part that just snaps the mini-balls clip to the rail so we send fewer things to landfills.

Holy PITA! You couldn’t design a track that screws in from the inside?

Before replacing the lower panels, turn the water supply on and then check for leaks at the supply valve. Hate to have a leak harm the flooring and then have to repair it. Also, if one side track goes bad, the other may go soon after. If you are taking out the machine to do one side, why not buy both sides and do them both at the same time? Saves all that work at a later date.

I'm on my 3rd Left rack track. It's the worst welding I have ever seen. They are good for about 6 months.

Good to know - do you think I'd be better getting the old track welded properly?? Or JB Weld.

Garbage is right. Broken welds twice and dishwasher is only four years old! Don’t buy Kitchenaid dishwasher!

Just make sure the up arrow is of course up. I did both sides and of course waited for the basket last and realized I put them on the wrong sides! Doh! Don’t make the same mistake I did and take an extra 30 minutes to redo everything.

my upper rack keeps sliding back in while I'm loading and unloading. Would replacing the tracks fix this? (Everything slides smoothly and is in good shape, the rack just keeps sliding back in!)

    Good instructions!
Ordering parts through Whirlpool Parts was good.
Service rep, who was not a technician, was able to pin point exact parts through assembly drawings and add clarity on needed part numbers.
Ordered 2 left tracks for 2nd and 3rd rack, and parts arrived by Puralator (to Toronto) in 3 working days.
Strongly recommend replacing goth L and R tracks on the second level (large drawer). Drawer bearings are inbreed into yellow plastic thin assembly. Plastics becomes brittle over time, breaks and releases bearings into the washer. Filter traps them, but if you do not see them or do not register sound when bearings pop out, while cleaning filter there is a risk that they go below filter into drain/pump.
All securing drawer clips for 2nd drawer release broke in disassembly, as they became very brittle. This is no issue as drawer is held in position by gravity and on a back side mating parts fit into metal grove in the rail.

Hey Todd I had the exact same thing happen - did they send you the part?? Looks like they want me to use a repair guy - yeah no thanks - repair looks simple enough - do you happen to know what the part number was?? Thanks. If it is cheaper than the repair guy I may just order it or try JB Weld.

If you need any info from me let me.know. They should treat all customers the same. Those welds were garbo. Thanks again for the reply Merry Christmas. 🎅👍

When I saw how the track looked broken I knew it was going to require the entire unit to be disassembled and pulled forward. But I thought there could be no way Maytag would do such a thing. But they did.
This is just ridiculous. What a joke. Horrible engineering. Get with it Maytag.

Its a ripoff. I just added up all the parts we need to restore our dishwasher to newish condition and its over 800 dollars. I think we paid just over 900 for the dishwasher? WTF?
This is seriously bullshit. The plastic parts are obviously engineered to fail. What a joke... How can only a few plastic parts and 2 roller rails be as much as an entire dishwasher??? No motor, controls, pumps etc? May as well buy a 300 dollar dishwasher and throw it away.
