Thank you. Your video helped me fix my door alignment problem.
Thanks, very helpful, clear and accurate, solved my problem using these instructions
Made my day. Just needed the first panel off to replace the broken seal at the bottom
The hinge pin sheered off so a new hinge won’t fix my issue. Any suggestions?
you guys are awesome!
You're welcome!

My KitchenAid is the same setup, but the problem is that the left hinge pin is 2/3 worn through! I have no idea why or how this would happen. The door always seemed to open/close fine but now it is obviously sloppy and making a clicking noise. It's only 4 years old and it was the top model. It appears there is no replacement for the pin itself. The right side is fine. Any advice on a fix, maybe replacing with some kind of threaded pin?
My right side pin sheared completely off, 4.5 years. Planned obsolescence at its finest!
@@speedyorca My right side pin looks bad too. Were you able to get it fixed, or did you buy another brand???
@@fredbrenek7939 I think a fix would involve welding, but the pin is part of the frame so not an easy task. Perhaps a bolt of some sort could have worked after drilling/tapping a hole. I got lazy and bought another KitchenAid - totally different and redesigned hinge. Dealer felt bad and gave me a reasonably good deal.
Yup, my hinge pin broke off too, and the tub perforated entirely. On top of that, I found the main control wiring harness was crimped so badly that the wires were exposed inside the main panel, and had started to melt inside the unit. It is a miracle my family was not killed by a fire or electrocution.
Mine is still hanging in there from my original post 2 years ago. It's now 6 years old but since I noticed the wear 2 years ago (due to the clicking from the worn pin play) I started using spray grease on it every few months. That probably lessens the wear but I don't know how much longer it will last.
Any way to replace the hinge pin (i'm just calling it that) visible at 4:21? It is the piece that the door hinge sits on. It appears to be worn off on my parents dishwasher (Kdtm354d ss4). One side is worn off 2/3 times, but I can't find a part number for that or tell.
curious, did you have any luck with this? Mine just failed (left hand side) and I am starting my search to see if this is serviceable..........thanks!
@@jimhache765 - no. From what we could tell, that hinge pin didn’t appear to be easily serviceable. It hasn’t failed yet, so just going to use it to the point of failure and deal with it then. We did swap out both hinges with used parts, thinking that would at least help. But we had no luck with the hinge pin itself.
@@briankadar8876 To replace the pin support for the hinge, you need to replace the tub. It is not sold separately. The part is Tub Assembly WPW10681507 (original number), W10681497 (replacement part number). The cost is in the $300's. You would have to take everything off of the dishwasher and put it on the tub. It is not trivial.
Is that mounting pin replaceable? Part number?
curious if you ever found a solution to this? Mine just sheered off (2 weeks ago) and I've been searching for a part number / solution to fix but have run into a dead end...........
@@jimhache765 have to replace whole hinge. I ending up drilling out what remained and put a bolt and nut with locktite. Has worked good. I’ve noticed on the newer models the hinge is total different.
