Measurement Hack: If you want to make this perfect size for YOU, take your favorite shirt (button, T-shirt, sweater, etc) that fits you just like you want (width and length) and lay it FLAT on a table and measure it. Measure from the top seam of the shoulder all the way to the bottom and double that (or measure all the way from the bottom of the back to the bottom of the front). THAT will be the measurement for your beginning chain of EACH panel. Make sure you count the chains so they are an EVEN number (as Crystal said). JUST REMEMBER that the crocheted piece will be SLIGHTLY longer than your beginning chain. Do the FIRST ROW, then throw it over your shoulder and make sure that is the length you want for front and back before you put a LOT of time into it. You can do the same for the WIDTH of each panel... measure from the SIDE SEAM of your favorite shirt to about the center front and double that for the measurement of EACH panel. BTW, if you write these measurements down, you can have them ready for the next time you want to make a wearable. 😊
@@lynnjaynes3452 Nothing to worry about! I'm a 2x (with big.. umm... ta-tas) and it still works out just fine for me. I just used a T-shirt that I'm really comfortable in that hangs down at a nice length, and measured that. I usually add some extra chains to account for the "bulk" of the yarn I'm using because I like sweaters to be a little loose rather than tight. The "secret" is really checking it after doing that first row to make sure it's going to be the length I want. I can't tell you how many times I have started things and done a lot of rows, only to find I needed to "frog it" (rippit out) and start over! AND because this pattern stops on a certain row (the double crochet row), I check it when I have the first panel done by throwing it over my shoulder and making sure it is the size I want. When I get both panels done, I use stitch markers (or safety pins, or yarn scraps) to kind of attach the two panels together and try the item on again. If necessary, I'll add a few more rows by just re-attaching the yarn to the end of the panel where I left off. Good luck, Lynn - I know you can do this! 💜
This is absolutely stunning! Love the colors. Another project to add to my ever growing list. I can't keep up but I do appreciate all the amazing tutorials that you make for us to enjoy!
Hello 👋 Shirley from England here.. this has to be my “ go to cardigan” pattern. It’s just soooo me. I’m imagining making it in a variety of my favourite randoms and fades… Sheepjes are one of my favourite yarn companies… also King Cole “Riot” colours are fabulous. I’m looking forward to making a start. Thank you Crystal 🎉 Hugs and kisses from me, the golden oldie 🤗 xxx
Super cute! I've never seen the double crochet, chain 1 way of attaching 2 pieces together. Thanks for teaching me something new. I hope you have a great day! 🧶💕
Oh my, I’ve never made myself a wearable before but like the saying goes, there’s always a first time … and this is it!✨Thank you for a smashing tutorial.✨Best wishes from UK✨
So pretty, Crystal! I think I’ll make this a long sleeve cardigan. It still amazes me how a combination a a few simple stitches can turn into something so beautiful! Thanks so much for this tutorial! Love you! ❤️🙏🏼
Stunning Crystal totally stunning. Thank you I have been waiting to make myself something exactly like this but couldn't find what I wanted. PUFF! as if by magic there you are with exactly what I wanted. Thank you and to put the cherry on the top I have just finished an order!! YIPPIE!!!!! Mat❤
I really like this a lot… it’s gorgeous!!! Now I have to just select the yarn. I can see myself making a couple of these!!! I may start with a crop version with sleeves. Thank you Crystal for always keeping us inspired with new designs, stitches and a wealth of wonderful ideas!!! You’re the absolute best!!! Stay safe and be blessed ❤
Absolutely beautiful! I’ve been looking for something like this and now I can’t wait to make it. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent with us. Hope you have a wonderful day and take care!
This is so nice looking. It looks comfy. I've wanted to make garments for so long but just didn't feel like I could. I think this should be my first real try!
❤Crysral you hit another home run with this one! As soon as I finished that baby blanket.I'm working on this will be next on my hood.😊 I'm thinking I might make it with Shawl in a Ball yarm.
Hey sweet friend. Wow absolutely gorgeous as always. Love the colours you choose for this make. Girl I can not keep up with you. I did finish my shawl of yours and now working on the blanket beauty runs deep kit. It’s absolutely an amazing pattern. Thank you for another amazing tutorial. Much love with biggest hugs beautiful friend 💙🤗🤎
Hey Crystal ! I love love this stitches Wow and it’s so simple. I can follow since I’m 73 yrs old easy to remember,😂❤Thank you for this coolest tutorial. Have a great day !
Wow!!🤩😍 Thank you Crystal!!🤗👏 This is gorgeous!!💖 I immediately had to watch you create this beauty right to the end!☺️ I love the stitches you have used and that they run up and down, not side to side! This will compliment everyone’s figure and size! Your design gives a person so many different options: no sleeves to long sleeves, any length you want, loose fit to more form fitting, a vest, cardi, sweater, rhuana and it’s all season wear using cotton, cotton blend, acrylic, merino wool blends and more!! A very kind friend of mine has just found out her bladder cancer has come back in her kidneys. I’m going to make her this as quickly as I can, hoping it will give her warmth and comfort. Thank you again Crystal for this wonderful tutorial and all your other great tutorials and your yarny talks!!🙏🥰😘🌹❤️🇨🇦
Love the Simplicity of this Sweater/Cover-Up. Crystal, you always teach in a way that makes it seem like I have done this before. Thank You for That. Renae
I love everything about this the style, stitch and color. Thank you Crystal for your patience and all the work it takes to bring your talented craft to us.🥰
Crystal, I love this top! I'm excited because I have lymphoedema, which causes my bottom half to be much bigger than the top. I'm an L/XL top and a 2/3x bottom. I think this design could fit me correctly! I've been struggling to make anything wearable for myself, other than shawls. Have a great day, and thank you for all the hard work you put into teaching. ❤
I love this pattern, I made several of your summer tops you created using the long panel method only sewing the fronts, backs, and sides. It was also a fun pattern to make
Hey Crystal, I have been watching your tutorials, and this will be the first wearable piece of clothing that I attempt to make for myself. I've made slippers, hats, knee-hi's, but I think this will be my first clothing piece. Tfs. Love the way you teach.
Thank you so much for making an easy garment! I’ve been crocheting scarves and shawls for a few years now, but all my garments are unfinished because my weight changes. This one looks adaptable and easy enough for me to try!
I love it, Crystal! Super easy, but it has nice interest! I'm wondering if you had much waste (with THAT Sheepjes) when arranging the colour sections/stripes?...I like the look, when it's planned. Thanks for the vid ...and the stitches! I hope that you are all enjoying your summer and I sure hope you're doin' well! 😉🙏🙏
Hi Crystal, I have been subscribed to your channel for a number of years now. And I have made numerous projects through your tutorials. I just want to thank you for being so gracious with your time, to go to all the work of designing, filming and I’m sure there’s a lot of editing in it as well. All the best to you. May HaShem our G-d watch over you with long life. ❤
I would love if someone could do a tutorial on sleeves! I have the worse time with knowing when to make the sleeve wide to becoming more fitted at the wrist. ❤

Thank you very much .
Thank you. That helps this 75 yr old mushy brain. The only thing is I'm a 3x. Compute that. 😊❤😊❤
@@lynnjaynes3452 Me too! I'm going to use my favorite baggy t-shirt, lol.... us tent girls gotta stick together! 😜😄👕
