i’m at 11 classes done in 6 days. I have a full time job but i’ve been very dedicated with my free time, and very resourceful with the classes. find the easy classes and dedicate yourself to them. Macroeconomics is so much easier then Microeconomics. Remember that when choosing classes for time constraints
Can you help me out if you charge I'm willing to pay
What classes did you take?
You aint lying. Microeconimcs kicked my tail! Lol i barely passed it
I need your help please
@strawberrys6716 I need your help please
Full time job and full time new mommy we got this I want a bs in biology want to finish what I’ve started this is beyond encouraging!
You can do it!! 😄
Just knocked out 4 courses in the first 24 hours of Sophia. Definitely not a pace I’ll be able to keep up, but I feel good about the momentum! 😅
Fantastic 🤩🤩 Welcome to the hacking family! 🥳
Visual communication
Intro to business
Art history I &II
Intro to ethics
It took me 5 days to complete intro to ethics while working a full time job. I actually found it quite challenging. I have never done taken any philosophy classes before and so the concept kind of blew my mind.
I’m working on English comp 1, It looks like it will take me at least a week and a half but this is a class I took 12 years ago I just wanted a refresher before comp 2.
Great work getting started! That's amazing.
bruh it's taking me weeks to finish that history 1 class, one week passed and I'm only a quarter done. 😢 tbf I am bad staying focused sometimes, which means that I have to reread sentences more than once.
@@Evycakez This is what I am afraid of. I have undiagnosed ADHD and my anxiety is at an all time high when I am not progressing/learning as quickly as I think I should. I don't think I'd be able to focus (also I am a self sabotage artist per my therapist). How did you end up doing?
You all not alone, I find Sophia's courses harder than UMPI classes, am I the only one?
u literally choose the longest ones lol
I agree with this list. I did all of the ones you listed, except Art History 2. Did Vis Comm first and finished within 4 hrs as well.
AMAZING WORK!
WAS THE COURSE ACCEPTED BY YOUR SCHOOL? SORRY FOR THE CAPS. POOR EYESIGHT.
I knocked out visual communications in a day...only because I was pulling an all-nighter. I loved it a lot
Nice!!
Signed up Saturday (June 17) and knocked out Intro to Business in a little over 2 hours and spent less than 4 on Intro to Ethics. Also completed all Challenges and Milestones plus the first Touchstone for Spanish 1.
Excellent!! 💪🏼
The US History 1 has a touchstone now. 😢
I finished my first Sophia class in 2 hours! It was a subject that I already have experience in, but I will take the win. Excited to see what I can knock out in a month 😊
Great work!! Happy hacking! 🥳
Great video! I completed 35 credits in 25 days. Intro to Information Technology is really easy as well!
DAAAAAAAANG. That's awesome. Great work! What's the strategy?
Awesome! Intro to IT was the first Sophia course I passed
@@CollegeHacked I have a lot of down time at work that let’s me complete classes, also for about an hour at night after the family went to sleep I would complete coursework. So far through CC, CLEP and Sophia I have 96 credits and will apply to UMPI this fall. If all goes to plan I’ll complete a BA in a year. Thanks for all the info on the channel!
@@nickcervantes6549 That's amazing! Great work!
@@nickcervantes6549 what's CC?
In the 2 months I have been on Sophia learning I have completed 32 credits. I mainly do the courses without touchstones. I am also doing this as I am working with one of my former student athletes as he works his way through school going to UMPI.
Does UMPI accept all Sophia credits????
@@geo9656 your best bet is to go to degree forum as they have a listing of what UMPI accepts
@@geo9656 they should. Just make sure you put them on the ace transcript.
No. UMPI doesn't accept all Sophia courses. You should check to see which they accept using the Transfer Equivalency tool.
That's fantastic! Great work!
I'm 3 days in, finished intro to it and intro to business the first day. Personal Finance I'm just waiting for the graded assignments to be returned. Financial Accounting is kicking my butt so far though. Only put in an hour or two thus far but it's a doozy right now.
When it's hard that's often how you know it's good. Relish the challenge!
Their new Introduction to Nutrition is an easier course, only took my around 6 hours and I could have gotten it done in 4. Easy general education credit for a health requirement, no touchstone. Solid option.
Thanks for the tip! I've been hearing good things about it.
@@CollegeHacked Units 1 & 4 are genuinely decent and very easy, Units 2 & 3 get into the science of nutrition and digestion and are both absolute slogs. No touchstones at all.
I failed my Sociology CLEP today 😢So now I’m doing it on Sophia.
I find with Sophia there’s a lot more reading involved but the information there is more aligned with what I saw on the CLEP test.
Great job not letting that get to you. If you can't find a door, go in through a window. :)
Great that you didn't let failing the CLEP stop you. With that attitude, you've got this! ❤️
Did you finish it? How was it? How long did it?
The educational philosophy of "give me $" is the philosophy of every college. The colleges that make the classes more difficult (unnecessarily tricky questions) are not concerned whether or not you learn the material, they're just hoping you'll pay for the same course multiple times.
We sense a bit of jadedness in this comment 😉
Just finished Visual Comms, took me withing two days, got 97%. In total, perhaps I spent about 8/9 hours doing it. It was pretty simple and not very demanding. I'd say that about 70% of the final questions were very much common sense questions!
Crushed it!!! 💪🏼
Intro to Web Development also was very easy. It only has 9 challenges and 3 milestones. Plus challenges has only 2 questions and milestones max 7 😊
Nice! 😄
So much great information! I’ve searched all over & have yet to see a UMPI BABA spreadsheet with Sophia courses mapped out. Or maybe I’m missing it? Love your videos and spamming friends & family with all your videos! 😂
We do custom plans in our consultations if you need one 😉😉 Surprised Degree Forum doesn’t have a standard build posted though!
I have built a BSBA for Excelsior who accepts 113 credits from these sources. 70% is from Sophia, 28% from study.com and 2 courses from coppersmith.
I contacted the partner manager at excelsior and had him confirm my spreadsheet
Both US History courses has touchstones.
They’ve been adding more touchstones all around 😅
@@CollegeHacked Thanks to your content, I was able to complete 49 credits in 90 days to finish my degree at UMPI. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks a lot
"Any time you see anything with [...] 'Principles of'" gave me flashback to Gulati's brutal Principles of Economics course at Columbia U.
US History 1 now has a Touchstone at the end. Pretty easy not much to it but they must have just changed it. Not sure about US History 2.
I came here to say the same thing. Ugh
Is everything open book?
I'm using sophia in tandem with my regular courses at SNHU online ~ I'm hoping to finish my Bachelor's by December of this year, I would be done sooner but most of my classes required are different anthropology classes and sophia doesn't have any options for those yet ~ I just saw that they came out with anatomy and physiology 1, but I'm taking human biology because snhu counts it as a&p 1 for now
How has your experience been transferring in Sophia credits now that they have stopped accepting all but two English courses from them? Are you grandfathered in because you started with SNHU before the policy change and so they will continue to accept them? Would love to know! 🙃
@CollegeHacked I asked my student advisor and got a list of courses they are and aren't accepting, they must have changed the policy again because there are a lot of options unless the information I was given was wrong. I have in writing (over email, only a month ago) that they would accept 5 courses; Art history 1 ( transfered as intro to humanities), conflict resolution (communication elective), Intro to statistics (applied statistics), approaches to studying religion (religions of the world) and human biology (A&P 1). I'll double check if there was a mistake though, hopefully there wasn't 🙈😊 Oh and I'm not sure how much longer human biology will transfer as A & P because Sophia just added an A & P course. Also that limit of 5 wasn't because they wouldn't accept more, I just didn't have any other requirements that were available through Sophia
US History took me forever, but I actually went through and read/listened to all the content, also both US History classes have Touchstones now
Sophia has added a touchstone to US History I
So which degrees can Sophia be most helpful to?
I see so many courses on Sophia but I'm not sure which degree caters the most for anyone who's doing mostly Sophia courses.
It depends on so much. We help clients figure this out in consultations (www.collegehacked.com), but you can also go to Sophia's website and see what colleges they partner with.
US History I took me forever. I read everything since I am not American and wanted to learn as much as possible, but even though I had a 100% average in High School in History class, this one was the most boring course so far and like some courses I just had to force myself through it. Surprisingly interesting was Art History, I absolutely loved all the architecture parts which I can see everywhere here in Europe. Most courses take me around two weeks, that's full time infantry, wife, 1 year old and a dog. I can't keep up with everyone who does these courses in a few hours. I do think they skim over the material and just write the test.
Awesome job getting through it! Especially with everything on your plate. You’re right that the people going at lightning speed are shooting for that 70% pass because they know once it transfers into their school it’s just a “P” for pass with no GPA attached. But everyone’s goals are different, and that’s why Sophia is so awesome. All the material is there if you really want to learn it, but the ability also exists to go fast if learning is not the top goal.
@@CollegeHacked Thanks for the reply. I am going for a Bachelor in Accounting and then want to get a Masters. So the reason why I am trying to score high is because I think that for a Masters they usually want to see the last 60 credits? Or is it truly a non-issue with Sophia?
@@panamericacoDefinitely check out a group of schools where you might do your masters to make sure they don’t have a special restriction on it, but it should truly be a non-issue. Because the transcripts will only say “P” for pass on all credit transferred into the school where you graduate from. :) So they can’t see the scores from Sophia on your college transcript even if they wanted to. They could request copies of all your transcripts from their original sources I suppose, but the only time we’ve ever seen that required is for medical school admissions. They check that the science prereqs came from residential, regionally accredited sources.
awesome, thanks a lot! @@CollegeHacked
Do you have to have a current college you are enrolled in, or can you do these courses before?
Usually we recommend you do most of them before. Enrolling too soon is a common beginner mistake.
Would sophia visual communication be excepted for a umpi GEC course? Thanks
Yes :)
Does anyone have a promo code for sophia?
Unfortunately they don’t do promo codes other than their own. Subscribe to their newsletter to get those ones :)
Do you know if principles of finance has a captsone? The syllabus says it doesn't. Also is it all multiple choice questions or do you have to do excel formulas?
No touchstones in Principles of Finance!
US History has a touchstone 😫
Does anyone have a list of the courses he went over?! 😅
yes... chat gpt can just answer mostly everything. Copy paste.
I reminded my self that I am actually trying build knowledge. I'm not chasing a degree or a grade like when I was younger. I want to increase my knowledge and value.
So I will use GPT to check things but not to simply answer every question.
Very smart! Thinking skills are only developed if one is forced to think sometimes ;)
Great video, thanks. It's almost an entire freshman year's worth of credits.
You got it!
If a university A doesn't accept sophia buy another regional one does (university B) and university A accepts from University B, can I send sophia to University B then take a few classes at University B and have all including sophia transfer to University A and be accepted?
Typically no, each university will have certain requirements for credit to be applied, always check with your university before taking a Sophia class.
That's called credit laundering, and most certainly will not work.
Is it possible? Probably, somewhere. But it’s certainly not going to be a consistent enough process that it would be a good option to bank on. :) Also a bit morally questionable 😜
Is into to ethics the same as business ethics?
Not quite. Pretty different.
Does Maryville University accept Sophia?
I have had a similar experience with others - completed courses within a day or less! Within just 4 days, I have completed two courses. Plus, I have a full time job!
I’m hoping Maryville University of Saint Louis accepts Sophia credits!
Their transfer policy page only talks about 2-year and 4-year college credits transferring in, so it sounds like they do not accept ACE credits. But you can call or email them to confirm!
Can I speed up my associate’s degree in psychology with Sophia courses?
If your university accepts them, yes! I'd give them a call and ask.
I'm lost if I take a coruse and finish it do I have to take it again in college or does it count as if I'm taking the class at Sophia
You take it on Sophia instead of taking it at the college :) It replaces the more expensive college course option.
Do u have to take all the courses at once?
or can you start new classes after you finish the previous classes as long as its within the 30 days?
You can finish one and start another until the end of your 30 days!
Is there a promo code to sign up for consulting?
If you purchase one session and later want another one, there is a promo code for the second one :)
I did college algebra in 3 days. Im on my second week of english comp 2. It will prob take me about 4 weeks total
Excellent!! 🤩
does it really matter what your grade is as long as you pass? will the school I transfer to see my grade or just that I passed it? I’m going to aim for the highest grade I can, but if I don’t need to retake all the milestone for some extra points I might skip that. thanks in advance
You don’t need to retake them! :) The school requires a 70% or higher, which shows up on your Sophia transcript when you send that to them :) So they’ll see it, but just to verify that it’s at least a 70%. When they accept it, they assign it a T for transfer and it has no impact on your GPA and the % score you earned does not show up on the receiving school transcripts. So if you sent the conferred bachelors degree transcript to a grad school, for example, they’d see the source was Sophia.org but would only see T for transfer. Though it’s worth saying that grad schools can require the original transcript from every credit source if they want to. :)
US History 1 has a Touchstone now but its not that difficult.
Is it possible to transfer the credits from Sophia now? And how to recognize the credit that it’s possible to transfer?
Yes!
Does Liberty University take Sophia?
Indeed!
I’m in community college having my major in business administration. I aspire to be an accountant. However, I dread having debt up to head. Can this really help?
100%. Check out the Business Administration Accounting degree at UMPI, you can finish for about $6,000 :)
@@CollegeHacked thank you very much!
US History 1&2 have since both added touchstones.
Indeed, Art History I as well
Currently taking History I and it has a touchstone on the 4th module. Definitely takes more than 5 hours to complete this course. 3:04
Indeed! This video is over a year old, Sophia has been adding touchstones to courses monthly since it posted.
Both of the US History's have touch stones now.
Sad times 💙
Always hear about consultations how does that work ?
You can book a consultation on our website! collegehacked.com :) If you already know what school and major you want mapped out (where we tell you where to take each class, whether on Sophia or Study, or the school you pick) then you just need a single session. If you want to talk about and contrast different schools and majors then you want the two session package. First session we talk about schools and majors, second session we map out where to take each of the classes in the major you pick :)
are the classes on Sophia proctored?
No! :)
Can they be applied to a college in ny ?
Depends on the college. Excelsior U takes them.
any discount code?
For Sophia? No, but if you sign up for their email list, you'll eventually get one.
A lot of these have touchstones now. US History has one. US History 2 has one as well. Art history 1 has touchstones too.

Sophia history now has final essays
Do you know if these transfer to WGU?
Depends on the major!

Are the midterms proctored?
None of the Sophia courses currently include proctoring of any kind :)

Yeah, you have to plan backwards. First find a college that will accept Sophia. Then, once you know how they accept it, you can start taking Sophia courses. Only a few colleges accept them.
Southern New Hampshire University and Western Governors University both accept Sophia
Colombia Southern University accepts Sophia and other ACE accredited sources and they are regionally accredited with a pretty low tuition.
Chamberlain university accept credits
What is very Flow

What’s the cons of Sophia? I was going to do the college algebra to satisfy the pre requisite for nursing
Make sure your school accepts it first, if you haven’t already! Some do and some don’t. Some say the con of Sophia is that it’s too easy (open book, open notes, no proctoring), but that’s not really a con if you’re responsible about learning what you need to learn to move forward successfully in your future program :)
