- After watching a ton of Chief's film, these are 5 keys the 49ers offense must execute and utilize to be able to move the ball and put up points against the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58.

I really think playing the run and the checkdown game is the way to go. It won't be flashy, but it keeps the chains moving, tires the defense out, keeps spags out of his bag of tricks, and most importantly keeps Mahomes on the bench.
Deebo sweeps, screens and tunnel screens. Then throw the dig over the middle to 11. Heavy dose of cmc off 22 personnel. Kyle has to break out small batch reserve top shelf shit
And it keeps the blitz away top
That's why check down jimmy was winning for 3 and a half quarters.
Thing is, Kyle gets that. I think we'll be ok. He is perfectly ok matriculating the ball down the field consistently and keeping Mahomes on the bench.
Brady won multiple Super Bowls doing that. Lost a couple doing it the other way.
I like to see ppl recognize Charlie Woerner. He has had an outstanding year for a blocking TE.

@paulgaither I hope the talk with Joe Montana helped him, just distribute the ball to your play makers, that is the job, don't go out and play hero ball. He's not at Iowa State anymore, he's on one of the most decorated franchises with one of the best play callers if not the best play caller in the game, on a team built for this.

Thanks Jonny! In 2019 Kittle was our #1 most dangerous weapon in the passing game. Just think that Kittle is now our 3rd or 4th most dangerous target in the passing game. Im pretty sure the Chiefs committed extra recources to stop Kittle in the last SB but clearly that isnt an option on Sunday. I have a great feeling that Kittle is going to have a big day Sunday.
Imagine if we had Aiyuk now, instead of Sanders in that game

Brock Purdy had those really crucial scrambles in the second half against the Lions. I think if the Niners get off to a slow start in the first quarter, I would like to see Brock use his legs earlier in the game.
Will be key to keeping 3rd and manageable
It would be nice to Kyle design some run plays for Brock, that would extend the plays and keep the linebackers and defensive backfield honest. How about CMC throwing the ball? That would get the KC defense all confused.
It's interesting that Purdy is a pass first run second QB. The more he keeps plays alive with his legs the more he screws up defenses. Plus his receivers know how to get open despite the breakdown in the first through fourth reads.

I love seeing a ball control offense. It gasses the other defense out, and keeps yours fresh. By the second half, you have the other team on roller skates.

Your review got me even more hyped for this game because I studied the Greenbay game and raider game myself and I feel the ground game is the answer. The chiefs can be turned in the run game and they are weak on the perimeter. Niners need to lean on them 4 qtrs and cmc will put them away. I also like our matchups against Bolton, tranquil and gay. Niners should have much opportunity to attack on shot plays as you mentioned. Praying Kyle pounds the rock ✊🏾

I don't expect the 49ers defense to stop Patrick Mahommes. I just hope they're good enough to hold them to field goals so the offense can keep up with the scoring. Hopefully, the 49ers will have one more scoring opportunity than Kansas City.
The Chiefs will move the ball but haven't veen a scoring juggernaut this year
I’m more worried about them stopping Pacheco than Mahommes cuz they’re gonna run the ball until we stop it.

Noticed that Chiefs leave some gaping holes on those blitzes. OConnell had plenty of room to run on plays he tried to fit the ball into tight windows.
I'm really worried about KC's D-Line vs. our O-Line. They have a great D-Line and our O-Line is pretty average. I think it could be a huge factor in this game. Since we don't have a great O-Line, they can be overly committed to the wide zone rush, stopping our bread and butter. I doubt KC's linebackers will play so vertical with us, instead they will be gravitating towards that wide zone.
Thats what we gotta do is stick with the run

Yeah, missed that holding on the edge rusher how many times. Big Red already showed refs all that holding for Purdy scramble.
Starting on first down in 21 set and going into empty set with no huddle is going to give Spags fits. It’s a mismatch either way you look at it and it demands perfection from KC.

It's not a single program. I'm using Adobe premiere and cutting the video, grabbing stills in Adobe, then using Microsoft paint to mark it up, then inserting back in the timeline

SF needs to rush at least 32 times. Give CMC the ball 25 and Mitchell, Mason and Juszkzyk 7 or 8 times total between them all with a two TE set. Chew up the clock and make KC stop their ground game and see what happens. Purdy doesn't need 300 yds for the 49ers to win. Go Niners.

In Johnny Dell I trust. The 49ers defense has me on edge. A LOT of criticism has been placed on Chase Young, but, I think the defense issues is a multitude of many factors beyond Chase Young.
If the 49ers defense is as careless and uninspired as they were in the first-half when they played the Lions, the Chiefs will blow out the 49ers.
We shall see. My prediction is 49ers win 41-38. I think Mahomes is a beast, and seemingly all defenses struggle against him. The 49ers with their run defense issues, and the corners getting PI calls often, if the 49ers win, the offense will have to carry the entire team.
I don't see the Chiefs putting up 38. I don't think they score more than 24 this game

There was nothing they could do, 29 years and that’s 3X they blew it as usual. Shanahan will never win a SB , not as an OC, Head coach, or a water boy, it will NEVER HAPPEN EVER!!!!
One thing I would NOT like to see: seven step drops from under center, and McCaffrey being motioned out to a position 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Please, please do not do that. It makes no sense and is stupid.
Someone has been watching JT's videos. One thing about the bumper motion, doing it that way preserves the look they get on defense but also causes a defender to shift to a wider position. This is the rub between play-designer and play-executor. As a designer, Shanahan isn't concerned about CMC not being as deep in the pattern if that motion solidified the look he wants for Deebo. He also is doing more 7-step drops because those pass plays used to be play-action, under center drop-backs. Not sure if JT is noting that everytime or not. So, to maintain the timing of the drop, it has to be a 7-step drop but it allows Purdy to see the field during the whole drop.
@@jonnydel He's not wrong. The problem is at this point in the season teams realize you're doing it to keep the defense from treating it as an empty backfield. As well, some of the plays they utilize it in it just doesn't make sense (having him run a slant behind Aiyuk taking him right into the trailing LB) and makes him more easily covered because he's so far back. More importantly, when you do that with arguably the best player on the field you're taking him out of the play most of the time.
