Also, delete all fingerprints and register only 1 profile, you can register both thumbs on the same profile. Secondly turn off transition effect after unlocking. After doing these two along with the video. Fingerprint unlock will be lightning fast.
@One Gun ohmy didn't know about this. Does that mean that the number of fingerprint profiles has an effect on the sensor speed? Might be placebo on my end but I did notice a slight improvement on the sensor speed when I registered both thumbs in one profile.

I did this 2 weeks ago but if you have a tempered glass protector it does not make a difference, got to say worked well for 2 to 3 days them stopped opening instantly, I have to press very hard now, something I hate doing on my S20 Plus. If you have tempered glass best way to get your finger print sensor to work best is to register the finger print using alternate fingers on alternate hands, so one right index one left index one right one left and so on till you get to final bit, do one right, one left till done. So in actual fact you can open phone with Right and Left Index, and I've set up a right and left thumb print as well. That is what I have found works best at present if you have a tempered glass protector. 😉 Cheers from Down Under 👌🇦🇺
The sensor accuracy is still terrible. And I still don't understand why the phone keeps randomly locking itself even when I'm using smart lock and Bixby routines to keep it unlocked. I know it requires a password if haven't touched it for 4 hours, but It keeps asking me for the fingerprint every 30 minutes or so.
This is great, I can see it even works with the screen off. Now the biometric sensor never goes to sleep, I don’t think it’s a good idea to sacrifice battery life and the longevity of your sensor just to gain a few milliseconds difference.
you can unlock your phone without double tapping, when your screen is off just place your finger on that finger place spot, and u will unlock your phone quicker. so you don't have to wake your phone up. you can just fingerprint while screen is off :) you're welcome
What you're turning off is the option for the 'battery optimization' software to put the biometrics app to sleep. Doing this will cause a little bit more battery usage which means the battery will not last as long between charges. But, I would be surprised if it used up more than a few seconds of battery life between charges.
Im using Note10+, and it really works. I dont even have to double tap the screen to wake it up before putting my thumb into the scanner. When i pick up my phone, i just press my thumb directly on the scanner and boom! It opens right away. Thank you! Keep safe everyone from Philippines
You really don't have to double tap to unlock your phone when using the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner though, it works even when the display's off as long as you know where the sensor is.
Will it help recognition? After a full year the fingerprint reader is still crap on my phone. I've tried everything I've seen suggested online short of taking off the screen protector. Id say it works on the first try maybe 20% of the time

ALTERNATIVE TO SIDE SWIPE: Activate assistant menu by going to Settings/Accessibility/Interaction & Decterity/Assistant Menu Activate it by the slider then you will see a floating icon with 4 small squares on it, press it & look for screen off, that's it, you can lock your phone without pressing power button.The floating icon will always be there & you can move it anywhere on the screen. You can also re arrange the items inside it. Hope this will help, been using this 5 years ago with my beloved Note 5.

What is your charging speed for the a50? Mine at the start charges fast for each percent within a minute for 10 or 20 percent increase. Then the time increase to 1 Min 21 second or almost 2 to 3 mins after a while of charging.
great tips. my phone unlocking is now extremely fast. and for those of you who are concerned about his 7% battery life, any time you do this you either have your charger near or you have an Iphone. But the battery life in the Note 10plus is soooo good that there is no need to worry. He probably has another 30 minutes to go. If he is streaming, it may be another 10-15minutes until dead. Ask me how I know... i have the same phone. Battery life is ridiculous!!!!!!! I can easily get 10-12hr screen -time. If i just use Netflix and watch movies, it will easily to atleast 14hrs. But this is also using the battery saver at "MID" level. Phone is beyond awesome. I just wish it had a flat screen like the S20.. but still very good screen. It has been shown that at times the camera is better than the S20... at times.
It only works with the in display fingerprint, which is the altra sonic fingerprint sensor on the screen. The S9 only has a back fingerprint and i don't think this tip works for the S9 series.
I had done all that, as well as redoing all of my fingerprints after installing my Whitestone protector, but still slow AF. This hack gives me lightening response. I was getting really pissed off at the lag too.

This feature is actually available in all samsung smartphones(even those that don't have under display fingerprint sensors). Tried this trick with my Samsung Galaxy M31s and it worked!!!

Turn off finger print animations as well that will help and also, when your settings you your finger print you should put in your right print and left print for print 1 then add another print and do the same thing. That way it cuts the cycle speed of looking for that print in half. Hard to explain but have had really good results using those 2 methods along with this one.
When that setting is toggled, a restart is required for it to take effect. If you turn the toggle back on, a reboot is required for it to go back to it's original slow speed

Jenny Afonso don’t buy the exynos version of the S20 it’s overheating camera takes an age to focus and then it throttles back when gaming....but snapdragon version is much better..

You should also go to biometrics preferences and disable transition effect it would make the unlock even more faster

What do you mean by use both thumbs on the same profile? Right now I have both thumbs registered twice, using up all 4 fingerprint slots.
I think it helped make it a bit faster (still slow because of a white dome glass)

I have a galaxy S10+ (exynos processor) and the fingerprint scanner is now faster in about 40%. That is an amazing tip.
