Hey folks! I've not been very good at uploading videos this year, but that's all going to change. I have decided to re-boot my IELTS channel and start making more videos. This one features my new format, so please let me know if you have any feedback. I appreciate your support and advice.
I understand your explanation for the lexical resources, it is perfect! However, I hope you can consider improving the sound quality in your next video. Thank you so much!!
Hi David, I really like your calm and clear delivery. I have a question . The IELTS Speaking rubric says that a band 7 "uses some less common and idiomatic vocabulary ". How do examiner define "some"? Most educated candidates would naturally use at least three or four words that are less common and idiomatic. Is that considered enough? I know that it would be a terrible idea to try to count your "less common" words while speaking, but I wonder what counts as "some".
Thanks! I have been teaching for many years, so I am used to speaking in this way. It's a bit strange doing it on camera, but I try my best to be understood. Your question is an interesting one, but examiners don't necessarily count like that, and it brings us again to the issue of what exactly is uncommon or idiomatic. My advice is don't bother *trying* to include any of these things. Just write the best essay that you can write, and it will probably include enough of these qualities. Trying to put uncommon vocab or idiomatic language into a text will most likely result in unnatural language. It's better to let it arise organically. It's like saying you should put 3 complex sentences and 1 compound-complex sentence. It's weird to make this sort of attempt and I don't think it would work. Instead, you should just write naturally and do your best to produce a descriptive essay. If you have learn vocabulary and grammar well enough, this will be apparent to the examiners.
Oh man, you're such an incredible teacher, but, unfortunately, you got only a couple of views. So who sees this comment please share this channel with your friends in order to make it fair for this man getting lots of views.
Thank you for this incredible videos. I wanna subscribe for correcting 3 essays, and I'm wondering if it's possible that correct them for me by one on each week and all at once? Thank you in advance

I like the format of this new video type. But I also like the older funny ones like the important/impotent pronunciation video.
Please upload a list of vocabulary words, which you think we must know with regard to each essay topic
@@cryptotechnicals5908 That's not the most efficient way of learning language. You should try to pick up vocabulary by reading about that topic.

Ok, I have heard that same idea from several people, so I will look into getting a new microphone to solve this problem. I appreciate the feedback.

Thank you in advance
Hello. I recommend having your essays corrected one by one, but it is your choice. If you send them all at once, I will mark them together.
Yes exactly this is what I meant to say. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Do you have online class?
Not at the moment. I am too busy with various projects, but perhaps in the future I will continue doing online classes.
