It's extremely handy for not just bottom fishing but creating a drift as well.

You guys have the most interesting videos.. Anthony Bourdain of fishing. Love hearing about over harvesting and how togs fishing returned thanks to responsible fishing

its funny the captain says to set the hook and immediately start reeling. Does exactly what he says not to. good fishing really want one of them minn kotas.

I know this was about Tautogs, but I'm impress with the Minn Kota spot lock. That's a good size boat so I'm buying one. It will make going out alone more manageable. I was a 26' Striper Hard top. Picked up the Helix 10 last year and hope to add the Solix 15. Props to team Humminbird/Minn Kota

You won't be disappointed, I didn't use my anchor once last season. I've been using "smart" trolling motors for many years, and not just for spot lock. They're also great for fluke fishing, they enable you to make your own drift when conditions are not optimal. You can store routes and repeat drifts, follow contour lines and more. Dollar for dollar it's the best money I've ever spent for fishing. If you can get the 36 volt model, you'll need room for 3 batteries but the extra power and run time are a big bonus.

@@tommckelvey3609 Thanks for the info. I'm going to need the Ulterra 112, 72 inch. My boat is pushing the Minn Kota limit. Stripers are sized larger than actual so my 2601 is actually a 24'. Now if Spring could hurry up ... lol

Chris that's how i fish for tautog, hit bottom reel about an inch , you set the hook better putting nice fish in your bucket and you prevent the fish from going under a structure where you can lose tackle and fish, maybe how Silvia is fishing it's for his neck of the woods.

That’s because you are both googans. If you were on the boat doing that I’d cut your line every time. Banging sinkers around..dumbass

Great idea to let the big ones go, the large female tend to produce and lay many more eggs which will produce and increase the species.

Idk bro think about this a old grandma making kids… I don’t think so in my opinion it’s all the ones that are big enough to keep that are doing the producing

Nice Togs man but do they survive when they are returned with their intestines hanging out? Looks pretty terminal to me.

If only certain fishermen would adhere to all the fishing rules we wouldn't have a shortage of certain species.
