I'm considering PdM Layton.. Would you say it's worth the investment, over a decent designer-frag for date-night/nights out? I'm just looking for an easy wear, mass-appealing fragrance with some richness and performance.
@SKANDERBEG Yeah, that's exactly what I'm kinda worried about - spending that amount of money on something that I've never had my nose on. Tried finding some decants or samples online, but couldn't really find any. I'm gonna have to sleep on this one for a few more nights. Thanks for responding, man! Appreciate it!
@@onkeltorNOR you should definitely try it. I was in your shoes but ended up not liking it once I got a sample. Fragrancenet has some samples, or you can try reddit.
Fun. I'll play. Winter: Nishane Fan Your Flames (Kinda reminds me of Jazz Club a little) Spring: Creed Green Irish Tweed (King of Spring) Summer: Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa (really love this one) Fall: Parfums De Marly Layton (seasonal versatility here, just fit here on the list)
Ashton, great vid as always. I have a suggestion though. When you list the Amazon/discounter links in the description, please also include the name of the frag before the link on the same line.
Mine would be: Spring: Dyptique- Philososykos Summer: Bond No. 9- Bleecker Street Fall: Mancera- Red Tobacco Winter: Imaginary Authors- Memoirs of a Trespasser
Summer: MFK Aqua Universalis Forte Spring: Bond No. 9 - Uptown The Scent of Peace for Him Fall: Byredo - Rose of No Man's Land Winter: Tom Ford Ombré Leather
Nice picks I don't have a lot of niche...far more into some of the exclusive lines Spring - Amouage Bracken Man Summer - MFK Petit Matin Fall - Creed Viking Winter - Armani Prive Ambre Eccentrico (and if it had to be true niche Amouage Jubilation XXV)
Oud Wood, I have - and it's amazingly... Bad. Now, Ombre Leather. That's a fragrance. :) My PdM would be Herod or Carlisle. I've never gotten my nose Oajan. Niche-- Spring: Creed Silver Mountain Water Summer: MFK - Amyris Homme (Not sure if this is considered Niche) Fall: PdM Carlisle Winter: PdM Herod Hon Mention: PdM Layton Designer-- Spring: Acqua Di Gio - Profumo Summer: Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme Fall: Tom Ford - Ombre Leather Winter: Bleu de Chanel - EDP This is tough. I also really love: Gucci - Pour Homme II Boss Bottled - Tonic Boss Bottled - #6 (the OG) Dior Homme - Eau D&G - Light Blue Intense D&G - The One EDP YSL - la Nuit de L'Homme
Spring - Olfactive Studio - Still Life Summer - Atelier Cologne - Cedrat Enivrant Fall - Odin New York - 08 Seylon Winter - Histoires de Parfums -1899 Hemingway
Boy this is hard...lol Spring: Toss up between Creed’s Green Irish Tweed, Himalaya and Amouage’s Reflection Man Summer: Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino Fall: Parfum de Marly’s Habdan or Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady Winter: Creed’s Royal Oud or Oajan
My boy puts Oud Wood up in there and yeah I do consider Tom Ford PB to be niche. Also curious about that Nishane one cause I’m beginning to get into some vetivers (because of this channel 😂)
I have so far just one niche fragrance, would have to go with that one all year round: Houbigant's Fougere Royale. Might not be ideal for winter, but still it's versatile enough, would work fine I think.
@@mercedesbenzs600bash Not impressively strong, for me I'd say 6-7 hours. However I've also sprayed it lightly over my pillow, I can still smell it next evening actually.
I get the challenge is to get one per season but I'd find the summer the hardest. Like here I'm a more fall, winter scent kind of person but the summer for me has two distinct vibes, Day and Night. More so than any other season I'd have been cool if you'd picked two for the summer (one for day wear, one for night). Me: Creed Silver Mountain Water for the day. Dior's (Privee collection) Bois d'Argent for the night. Spring: Tom Ford's Italian Cyprus (could easily flip this with Beau de Jour) Fall: Parfums de Marley Oajan Winter: Amouage's Jubilation
I actually like Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland better than Green Irish Tweed. It's great to smell them side by side. The Creed may be a bit more expertly blended, but Patrick is softer and easier to wear, to my nose. Patrick gives great performance; it smells super similar to Green Irish Tweed, and it's 40 bucks for 100ml.
I can see why you picked Elysium for Summer. It’s a great scent, but you won’t get tired of smelling it if you can only smell it for about an hour before it becomes a skin scent. Performance is awful, especially for the price.
Spring: Spongebob Squarepants Mr. Krabs Summer: Spongebob Squarepants Gary Fall: Spongebob Squarepants Squidward Winter: Spongebob Squarepants Spongebob S.S. is the best niche house.

Btw: when I was in middle/elementary school and getting into CK one, Tommy, CK be, etc my dad would make fun of me because according to him they all smelled the same. However, he did *love* green Irish tweed. An absolute classic.

I bought Creed Aventus Cologne and received a sample of Irish Tweed and it’s smells amazing, manly, clean, elegant. I had a few months prior bought a sample online not Creeds actual website and was not Blown away, I’m thinking it was either a fake or the scent went bad. 🤔
One thing I don’t see are ancient fragrances. What about making your own from essential oils without the alcohol content? I am sure it’s crazy cheap and lasts because of the oils and not the “designer” labels. Like lemon, sage, lotus, and cypress. Things that were aviable thousands of years ago.
I got the memo late I own 30 or more I'm a major frag head today I mixed 😋 mansera aqua oud and John Varvatos blue bottle and smell like a freaking boss boadacea is next and last on my sniff list 👃

Niche is a relative term, boils down to affordability at the end of the day. Oud Wood all the way!
Affordability is what is relative, while niche has a pretty sound definition.
