Nice list Chris, we have similar tastes. Pardon, Reflection Man, Oud Wood, Aventus, Millesime Imperial, Neroli Portofino, Grand Soir...these are my only real 10/10s. Viking would get a 10 if the opening was less harsh!
Just one 10/10 niche. hmmm. Ani from Nishane. or GIT from Creed. or Fougere Royal from Houbigant. or Cedrat Boise from Mancera. all 10/10s. But your list has some intriguing entries, Chris! TY
this was much easier than the designer version, i think because these were just clear 10/10 whereas for the designers i had to ponder is it really 10/10 anyway to the list 1 xerjoff rich wood this is my holly grail scent, its i am pretty sure the most expensive scent in my collection- rich wood smell well like rich wood its a mysor sandalwood with a gorgeous rose note a semi chocolatey, semi earthy patchouli , its just so luxurious it a panthy dropper , its versatile as hell, yes the price is challenging, but this is the best sandalwood fragrance on the market in my humble opinion 2 lartisan perfumier noir exquis i can best describe this as the love child of bond no9 new haarlam and replica by the fire place- its gourmand gem , really well priced, it has notes of coffee, maple syrup, chestnut, orange blossom, vanilla , tonka and ebony wood, which gives it a unique edge. 3 eldo like this this a new arrival in the collection but it deserves to be here to put it simply it smells like a pumpkin spice latte its fall in a bottle and it was done in collab with Tilda Sweden , which i think is cool 4 amouage dia man , amouage is my favourite house, dia is my favourite amouage i heard someone describe it as jubilation and reflection mixed together, i think that is mostly accurate , how i would describe it is as the most delectable vetiver scent with notes of plum, incense , vetiver and ylang-ylang i, its signature scent worthy, it is a hidden gem, great more for me 5 bond no9 manhattan this is a mind-blowing gourmand its head turning it has peach, plum, saffron, coriander, jasmine, patchouli, honey, gingerbread, caramel, suede in the base the gingerbread reminds me of a christmas market, when the wind carries this the sillage is 3-4 feet its a conversation starter, also somewhat underrated 6 by Kilian bamboo harmony - this smells like a japanese stone garden, i mostly got it because it reminds me of my trip to Japan, plus it is incredibly calming it has notes of bamboo, which is photorealistic smelling, it also has fig leafs, neroli and tea it is clean and calming and it just helps you focus 7 creed viking it just smells like a boss , or how i imagined a boss would smell like , its an amazing confidence booster 8 bois 1920 verde di mare this is here primarily for nostalgic purposes it reminds me of my childhood , but what it smells like the Mediterranian shore in late spring it is a salty aquatic but it has a lot going on there is tea, rose , even juniper berry 9 mancera wild cherry this is a more affordable , i would say better, alternative to TF lost cherry it smells like a cherry pie with vanilla ice-cream performance is amazing , 10 guerlain iris ganache its sad that this masterpiece is really difficult to find now, but i manage to procure a partial what this is iris and white choclate and the guelinard accord and its just heavenly
lol Dijaredoo. Just got a Viking sample and yeah, think I’ll have to pick that one up. It has a cooling effect like you would get from shave cream. Kind of even smells like a spicy shave cream. Just picked up Initio OFG and have Herod on the way! I love how the mail looks these days.
Great content as always my man, I'll have to give Oud For Greatness another try. I can't really nail down just one 10 out of 10 niche fragrance without giving you a few others so here's mine: Nasomatto Baraonda, Oud Satin Mood, Mancera Red Tobacco and Instant Crush, Herod and Carlisle, Xerjoff Naxos, Silver Mountain Water and Amouage Reflection Man
autum and winter. Hahaha. I live in Louisiana and our 4 seasons are summer, summer, summer, hunting season. I have to agree with you on Enigma. I have the PC and Parfum. It's a 20/10
Tauer LDDM is a masterpiece! Long time ago I smelled this one for the first time and my first impresion was” this frag smell like a dead man😂”. After I smelled at least 1000+ frag, I’ve found that one of my friend has this frag and I wanted to give it another chance, and woaaaaaaaaa.... I was completly in love about the uniqueness and the development of this fragrance. It is simply a masterpiece and now I understand why is considered one of the best frag ever. Greetings from Romania!
There can BE only one.... IDK why, but whenever I hear something even remotely similar to the tag line from The Highlander, the tag line becomes an earworm.
Love your insight. My 10/10 cologne is Himalaya from the house of Creed. It takes me back to a place and time back home in Washington DC. I too also love Viking. It reminds me of getting a fresh haircut at the barber shop as a young man. Not so much Old Spice but a well done Bay Rum scent.
I decided to sample Enigma Cologne in the recent heat. The projection is no joke! It completely chocked me out but wow what a beauty it is. I am getting a bottle when it gets colder.
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND the "damp earth" reference in terms of unusually pleasant smells...when I lived in the country, I was so drawn to the combination of hay , apple blossoms and cow manure wafting from one of the local farm ...can you imagine?
I have read you can dry out a bottle of rum and use the resin leftover for perfumery, I may be mixing information up, but I am currently doing just that lol
My number one is Creed Aventus batch 16A01 and 18B11. Compliment monsters and ultimate panty droppers. Ordered Enigma and Burlington 1819 based on your reviews. Let’s see if they can beat the king Aventus.
I just DON'T understand the Reflection Man hype. I tried it on skin. A good 8mls of it. I don't get it. It's not awful, but I'm definitely not paying the Amouage pricetag for it.
I never got the hype for Tauer's The Moroccan Desert. All I smell is incense. Cool name, though. I never got much performance out of Colonia Essenza. Reflection Man is on my list. I really enjoy Beach Hut.
Ohhh gawwwwd I hate that - everything's quiet until the work begins. Props for your didgeridoo patience Chris. I always felt like M&W's Tabac was the niche version of Old Spice though. How about a review? Dirt cheap classic powdery aftershave scent with tobacco, lavender and oakmoss. Would recommend either the vintage aftershave or the current edc. Always wanted to try the Fire Power version too....
So L'air du desert Marocain is transporting from tropical to desert...is it wearable all year around? What do you think? For Viking i agree..nothing like old spice but shares many similarities and i put it in the same Bois Du Portugal category and the only difference is that i feel Bois du Portugal is outdated and Viking is a newer version of it..i feel same accord Creed is using here (i like bois du portugal a lot i have Dua Clone...) I don't have Herod but i tried it and i know it...it is a long lasting fragrance, i wonder if there is a formulation difference...i own the Dua clone of it which smells nice but unfortunately couldn't find it similar in richness.... not like their Layton clone let me say.... I had a most cheaper Paris Corner clone for Herod and it was closer...
Really good list Chris. I’ve never really been sold on Creed’s Viking, but the general quality of your selection has me wanting to get my nose on the ones I don’t own (namely Pardon and the Argos fragrance). Thank-you!
Great choices and food for thought, Sandalwood by Geo. F Trumper is my personal favourite, perhaps you could do a future video on the Trumper range, there's some really good ones in there, thanks.
There's an ancient prophecy that speaks of a cataclysmic event: fragrance reviewers will finally pronounce French perfume names correctly. Just joking around XD, great video as always, Chris.
@@FRAGMENTAL Hey since I figured you were good at this frag game I'm faced with a delema. I need to figure out if there's ungaro pour l'homme III how it smells really musky and thick didn't like it. While the one I thought I remembered smelling was a completely different fragrance and I loved it The one I smelled that was Ungaro Pour L'Homme III smelled really airy and sharp, not musky at all. It was a different fragrance. The two I've smelt thus far are the musky version. Do you know if there's a sharp version that I'm trying to discribe?
Amouages Perfumes are not easy to like. But I think they are one of the few niche houses where the perfums are worth the money in terms of durability and sillage. Just had enough of these 1h lasting designers and bought me Beach Hut. It lasts 8-10 hours and 1-2 sprays are enough. So it pays off because it lasts so long and you need only few sprays. For a designer you pay 80 bucks but have to spray 5 times and sometimes even 3 times a day.
Hi chris, can you give us 10 fragrances for the summer, but I need to know 5 for the summer day time as its more hotter in the day, second 5 will be evening or night due to the humidity, really would appreciate it. Thanks
My 10/10s are the following for sure. I have collected over 60 bottles now over the years from cheap, designer to niche but still grab the following: - Lolita Lempicka L'Homme - Hugo Boss Bottled Sport - Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EdP - Dolce & Gabbana The One EdP - Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue EdP - Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L'Homme - Creed Millesime Imperial - Creed Royal Oud - Parfums de Marly Herod DIDGERIDOO!!!!
Had a feeling the Andy Tauer was in here, my decant needs to be a full bottle. Such a varied and very enviable list, beautifully refined. That Initio bottle is a stunning bottle, sounds a wonderful scent profile. Very excited to receive my first Marly fragrance soon, Marcus is top class. Sounds like a Viking Longhorn perfect sound effect
Guys, just wear your perfumes when you wanna smell it. F the weather outside. The most artistic are gourmand with notes everybody will say winter, fall. Citrus - summer, spring ... Yeah ... well,no. Of course I wouldn't wear Interlude Amouage on summer it's common sense but the rest ... spray and enjoy. It's your finger on a trigger.
Enigma is fascinating. I just bought it, and was shocked by the heliotrope blast in the opening. It was a shock to get that floral, citrus vibe drying down into the boozy, smooth vanilla. Unlike anything I've ever smelled.
Hi Chris great video, I was wondering could you make a a video of best 5 or more 10/10 niche fragrances for the summer ? I gather Reflection, Bergamo 22, Acqua Di Parma Colonia could be considered. Best, Chris
Didgeridoo! Lol. It’s really difficult to choose 1 10/10 fragrance. Gosh... I’m going to go with Acqua Di Parma Colonia Club. Love the minty freshness.
Hey Chris, I was wondering if you've smelled Eau Duelle EDP by Diptique? On Fragrantica its been compared to Enigma by Roja Pafrums - would love your take on it. Great vid as always
Brilliant list! Do you guys experience any kind of difficulties with some of the viking batches? I feel like for the 18g01 batch they toned down the spiciness and it lost a bit of its... ooomph that I enjoyed so much. Maybe my bottle needs to mature a bit more, just bought it a couple of weeks back as a replacement once my previous one ran out. I would be interested in your opinion! Thanks!
Hey Chris I think this is one of the best 10 out of 10 lists that I’ve seen… I love that you have Triumph of Bacchus but would’ve love to seen Bacio imortaelle I understand that you don’t want to have more than one fragrance from a house.... Oud for Greatness was my Fav until TOB and BI came along- I just ordered Roja PC but you have to get your nose on Persepolis from Arshia or Kutay from Unique’e!!!! Any update on Smoulder?
I am very sad to say that adp colonia essenza was the first time i didn't agree with you! It is so mature scent, it reminds me my grandma's cologne, i didn't like it at all.. Great video overall!!
There is currently no one selling Oud For Greatness online in UK. Hopefully that situation will change when lockdown over. I got a wee sample and it is amazing stuff.
Great video and list Chris! I absolutely adore Creed Viking. And, since it’s getting warmer and warmer here in the states, it’s about time to break out some Acqua Di Parma. Oh, and uh...”Didgeridoo”. As in...didgeridoo you play an instrument? I’m a drummer myself. Be well Chris!
Most of the Roja line pikovaya dama uden richwood aventus jardin di almalfi. Spice and wood irish tweed. Bal de afrique Carlisle pure distance black and sublime vanille
I figured it would be best to visit your house often, so I can spray away some niche without breaking the bank. Thank you so much for the video, Chris!
Hello, Some people say Triumph of Bacchus and Red Tobacco are pretty similar. Do you agree? Anyway, in Fragrantica both of them and House of sillage 1 and Herod are considered familiar between them. Is it worth having all of them in your opinion? Thanks.
Well, excellent video, end is the most funny and natural at all time Chris, and I again from 01 to 10 give you a 12!!!!! So, you tell as soooooo many information, and I can tell you that I have only one Aqua di Parma, Colonia Club and I found its gorgeous scent! For others, I must watching again your video, and one by one tell you what is my opinion! At the end this time, I agree with you, choose ten something in sooo rich world is wery difficult and heavy work, find 10 THE BEST!!!!! In few days I take my complete review your video, but now I can tell just this, excellent work dude!!!!!
I could have a few Amouage, Initio and PDM fragrances on my 10 out of 10 list. I could also have a couple of Creed also, but Viking wouldn't even get a 5. Every time I apply it, I end up washing it off.
One of Chris's kids asks..."I want to play a musical instrument". The other child said.."Will a didgeri..do?!?". We are so spoilt for choice of beautiful niche scents. Thanks for the video Chris.
Nice work! I actually purchased ADP Essenza from all beauty beginning of this month. And as soon as I stepped outside in to the high heat, instant regret! The regret being that I didn't get the 180ml bottle, only got the 50ml. What a fragrance. You are right about the DNA, at first I thought too similar to colonia assoluta which I have. But no it develops so much more imo. Great scent! You and Mr Smelly are costing me an awful lot of money!
really good list (i will taste some of these for sure NASOMATTO and TOB) my 10/10 NOW are: NEW YORK INTENSE by NICOLAI (an evergreen for me), HERMANN A MES COTES ME PARAISSAIT UNE OMBRE by ELDO (so dark and melancholic), OUD MINERALE by TOM FORD (I love It! a very original oud) SQUID by ZOOLOGIST (..and I feel like lost in a deep dark blue ocean)
My favorites are Ambre Précieux from MPeG, Carnicure from Marlou, Enigma, Oud for Greatness, Armani Prive Bleu Lazuli (does that count) and I dunno what else..
Acqua di parma 1.Blu Mediterraneo Fico Di Amalfi 2.Colonia Essenza 3.Colonia Intensa which one is more universally appealing , compliment magnet ? and age appreciation for each one pls tks , enjoy

I'd love to have time markers of the fragrances in the description.
I have collected over 60 bottles now over the years from cheap, designer to niche but still grab the following:
- Lolita Lempicka L'Homme
- Hugo Boss Bottled Sport
- Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EdP
- Dolce & Gabbana The One EdP
- Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue EdP
- Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L'Homme
- Creed Millesime Imperial
- Creed Royal Oud
- Parfums de Marly Herod
DIDGERIDOO!!!!
Yes Marcus receives high praise from all those that have ordered from him.
Finally a little bit of appreciation for Colonia Essenza
Chris all of these fragances are game over... I have some of these. Nice vídeo and choices., Regards from Portugal. 👍👌
Another great video!
No need to apologize chris. Your videos are great and I was thinking you were going to put a bortnikoff in this list. But a great list
Enigma is fascinating. I just bought it, and was shocked by the heliotrope blast in the opening. It was a shock to get that floral, citrus vibe drying down into the boozy, smooth vanilla. Unlike anything I've ever smelled.
Although I haven’t bought it yet, Acqua Di Parma Leather is the one for me! Or Ermenegildo Zegna Indonesian Oud
Hi Chris great video, I was wondering could you make a a video of best 5 or more 10/10 niche fragrances for the summer ? I gather Reflection, Bergamo 22, Acqua Di Parma Colonia could be considered. Best, Chris
Great idea👍🏻
Didgeridoo!
Thanks!
Didgeridoo! Great video. For me, some 10/10 frags are Interlude Man, Jubilation XXV, Oud Wood, Stercus, Blessed Baraka, Aventus, Intoxicated, Orca, Oud Zanzibar, Oud Satin Mood, Fetish Pour Homme, Philosykos and 18.21 Manmade Sweet Tobacco.
What does Fetish Pour Homme smell like to you? Any fragrances or things that smell like it?
The Arts Traveler I can’t think of anything. I know some people don’t like it. To me it is very good.
My number 1 is Wood satine mood from MFK❤ it was love at first sniff and i hope this will exist a long time because i want to wear it all my life
Thanks a lot for this amazing video and other amazing videos!
Aaaassand, Didgeridooooo!
All of argos frags are amazing
Hey Chris I think this is one of the best 10 out of 10 lists that I’ve seen… I love that you have Triumph of Bacchus but would’ve love to seen Bacio imortaelle I understand that you don’t want to have more than one fragrance from a house.... Oud for Greatness was my Fav until TOB and BI came along- I just ordered Roja PC but you have to get your nose on Persepolis from Arshia or Kutay from Unique’e!!!! Any update on Smoulder?
I was spoiled for choice when choosing an Argos!
HEROD is my no.1 10/10 fragrance. Thanks for the video...
100% agree. Have all but Argo but can totally agree on the rest.
Herod is incredible, I have trouble deciding my favorite between Herod and Oajan (criminally underrated)
Oajan for sure. These Mamasitas always say something about that...
Viking to me is a niche quality version of David Beckham Instinct
I am very sad to say that adp colonia essenza was the first time i didn't agree with you! It is so mature scent, it reminds me my grandma's cologne, i didn't like it at all.. Great video overall!!
There is currently no one selling Oud For Greatness online in UK. Hopefully that situation will change when lockdown over. I got a wee sample and it is amazing stuff.
I have some on the way mate :-) @pdm_uk on Instagram
Get on some of the Facebook groups there is loads of decanters going
There is mate I found some, look at smaller independent shops that's where I ordered mine from
Excellent video! Anytime i see 10/10 Ill always find those worth sampling
Chris I think we have the same taste
Try Hermessence Cuir d'Ange by hermes
Great video and list Chris! I absolutely adore Creed Viking. And, since it’s getting warmer and warmer here in the states, it’s about time to break out some Acqua Di Parma. Oh, and uh...”Didgeridoo”. As in...didgeridoo you play an instrument? I’m a drummer myself. Be well Chris!
Most of the Roja line pikovaya dama uden richwood aventus jardin di almalfi. Spice and wood irish tweed. Bal de afrique Carlisle pure distance black and sublime vanille
My favorite niche frag. Parfum de marly kalan. From the sweetness of the grapefruit? To the spicebomb signature. 27/05/2020
I figured it would be best to visit your house often, so I can spray away some niche without breaking the bank.
Thank you so much for the video, Chris!
Got a bottle of Desert Morocain after watching this vid. Absolutely adore it. MAsterpiece.
Hello,
Some people say Triumph of Bacchus and Red Tobacco are pretty similar. Do you agree?
Anyway, in Fragrantica both of them and House of sillage 1 and Herod are considered familiar between them. Is it worth having all of them in your opinion?
Thanks.
Yes I feel they're all different enough.
Great list Chris .!ove all my PDM’s
Hello Chris! When it comes to Carlilse, I wonder how you compare it to tobacco Vanille. Which one do you prefer?
No Aaron Terrence Hughes? I’m loving the brand
what do you think of initio side effect and initoo blessed baraka, surely 10/10 too?
Thanks so much🙏
I could have a few Amouage, Initio and PDM fragrances on my 10 out of 10 list. I could also have a couple of Creed also, but Viking wouldn't even get a 5. Every time I apply it, I end up washing it off.
I watched this 10 months ago... still a great video.
Very nice list, I would have add :
1) PDM Darley
2) Bois 1920 Oltremare
3) FDB Oud vert intense
4) Creed Millesime imperial
One of Chris's kids asks..."I want to play a musical instrument". The other child said.."Will a didgeri..do?!?". We are so spoilt for choice of beautiful niche scents. Thanks for the video Chris.
Good joke, But you know he’s not Australian right?
It's super refined and classy!
Great list, my all time favorite fragrance is creed royal oud
really good list (i will taste some of these for sure NASOMATTO and TOB) my 10/10 NOW are: NEW YORK INTENSE by NICOLAI (an evergreen for me), HERMANN A MES COTES ME PARAISSAIT UNE OMBRE by ELDO (so dark and melancholic), OUD MINERALE by TOM FORD (I love It! a very original oud) SQUID by ZOOLOGIST (..and I feel like lost in a deep dark blue ocean)
Hell yeah Viking! Great picks, Chris.
Edit: My second 10/10 fragrance at the moment is Tobacco Vanille.
I love TV. I'll be buying it at some point.
My favorites are Ambre Précieux from MPeG, Carnicure from Marlou, Enigma, Oud for Greatness, Armani Prive Bleu Lazuli (does that count) and I dunno what else..
Enjoyed Brother, BANGER LIST 🔥🔥🔥
I'm also interested in the house of sollague number 1 can a woman wear that also
Acqua di parma
1.Blu Mediterraneo Fico Di Amalfi
2.Colonia Essenza
3.Colonia Intensa
which one is more universally appealing , compliment magnet ?
and age appreciation for each one pls
tks , enjoy
How's the performance of Reflection Man?
Amouage overture exclusive to harrods buzzy one
No initio side effect?
Tom ford tobacco vanilla?
BR540?
Damn i love roja enigma for me it really smells like vanille coke with whiskey/cognac. It smells so boozy and warm. For me best winter fragrance by far.
For me the best smelling fragrance for winter is PdM Herod, but I still have not smelt the Enigma
So many frag chats in Australia love your videos. You are a class act.
What is your favorite from Diors prive serie or maision christian dior that is what they kall it today ?
