For a Triac, the power pins are not A & K, anode & cathode but MT1 & MT2, Main Terminal 1 & Main Terminal 2. This is because the Triac is an AC current compatible device and in AC there is no seperate Positive or Negative.
MT1 = A or MT2 = K some terminal . Love to receive your comments and feedback.

Maybe what your trying to tell us is SCR .... although SCR and TRIAC are the same uses but they are of different application.....SCR is applied to DC circuit while TRIAC is applicable for AC circuit so MT1 can't be Anode as what you've been explaining...Thanks

not, absolutely
You could probably use an arduino and an encoder to monitor the speed. Put simply, you'd need more power to make up for the load (when rpms fall)
, and less power when the rpms rise. I think it could work, but I'm just guessing.

You might get electricuted when you turn the potentiometer dial i suppose. Thats high voltage and and a high power consumption load. Potentiometer component is not designed to handle this amount of current and voltage. Maybe perhaps using selector switches and high current ceramic resistors. Based on the electrical components it should blow and will not work. You might be at risk of electricution.
@@arieldepio7286 Indeed this video has a lot to clarify. And indeed extra care must be taken not to touch the potentiometer terminals that connect to the main line. But as far as the voltage across the potentiometer or the current through it is concerned, it is fine. The pot would not be subjected to the full voltage and the main current would bypass it.
Sir,i have tried this cirucit.After 2 hours of on,the resister and POT got busted.I was using 2.2K resistor 1/4 watt & 1 watt.Can you please share some solution to this.

Hi,
I have an electronic board to control an AC motor -2500 watts/220v.
On the board are mounted two TRIAC - BTB24-600BW . The motor has a problem-runing on reverse only-no matter which button is pressed-FW or RW.
I found that the resistor who is connected to the Gate terminal on TRIAC 1 is burned and I replaced with a new one 47 Ohm/1 w .
Also I found a short cut between the Gate and Terminal 2 (the midle terminal) on the same TRIAC and replace it with new TRIAC--BTB24-600BW.After that I did a check by multimeter between all soldering points.
Then the board was connected to the motor.Unfortunatly the motor not run-in any directions- clock wise or reverse !

AC supply is not L = Positive & N =Negative it's Live and Neutral !
