also I touch on derealization as well. this video describes depersonalization-derealization disorder.
people who experience depersonalization feel removed from their feelings and their body.
I hope this video helped you! I would encourage you to check out the 5 Shifts to Heal from Trauma, Anxiety, Depersonalization & Emotional Numbness Masterclass. It is a free Masterclass that will show you the 5 shifts to become symptom free using a body-based approach. Link-

Love the analogy. We are not the healer. We must give our nervous system the space and safety for it to regulate. This should hit home with many.
Staying interoceptive and relaxing ur body periodically as much as u can many times a day
Thank you so much for everything you share. I have had derealization for over 15 years and this is the first year I have felt my feelings and have learned to actually manage my anxiety. I am still fully derealized.
How are you doing now? Any improvement?
I needed to hear this!! I have been feeling like I made a lot of progress and my vision is getting clearer, but today I found myself overthinking for a bit again. So... thank you so much for this! I can do this :)
You got this my friend! It’s a long process. Keep going! :)
TH C i have them 24/7, but I agree with you. When i’m outside they’re much worse :/
@@thc7865 fr, for the first like 2 weeks I refused to go outside because of how terrible it felt😂. Now I force myself to do so and it’s gotten a bit better
Its incredible to have been a long time watcher of your channel, seeing your first videos vs now how much knowledge you have gained and how your content is getting so helpful and well informed. Awesome stuff your saving lives.
This is a very kind compliment my friend. It truly made my day! 😁
@@coachjordanhardgrave you deserve it my man you videos make a lot of peoples days even weeks 👌🏻
Probably the only advice we ever need in life. 🙏
Been watching for a lil while now, and i think this is the best I've seen this explained and this video can really help boost peeps recovery.
You helped me get my degree. Was gonna quit uni because of derealisation but your vids helped so much.
🥺🥺🥺 this comment made my day!
Such simple points that we don’t even realize are the key to beating it cuz we’re over analyzing how to fix how to fix how to fix.
Exactly!
I can't get enough thanking you, i am nearly normal again ❤️
I’m honored to be apart of your journey!
How you did it
@@kaursammi9900 just try to apply every word jordan says , i didn't use medications otlr went to a therapist just followed the rules it was tooooo hard i will not deny but it will pass , i would not imagine to write such a comment when i am completely fine ❤️
@@pinkyfighter9834 and can uu tell me about rules. Pls pls
@@kaursammi9900 i really want to help you , but you have to do more effort yourself , watch the videos so many times in order to convince your brain, while this period act as normal as you can , don't avoid any activity because of dpdr , that is crucial! Don't react to intrusive thoughts and whatever happened be sure that is totally harmless and you have the control all the time it's just a distortion in your way of thinking, get well soon 💙
you’r videos are been helping me a lot whenever I feel like It won’t get better I come to your channel:)
It’s my honor to help you and be an encouragement my friend!
Great video Jordan I’m so glad I watched it!! Thank you for helping me to recover from anxiety and related heart palpitations. Watching this video today is a reminder to me that although I’m back to living a normal life, I still have room to grow in self regulation. Particularly with the example you mentioned of crying. I have difficulty letting that happen and I end up fighting or repressing it. And as a result, I get misty (haha) easily for things that really shouldn’t make me cry. I’m not very good at that yet. Great reminder and I need to address that. Nevin :)
Happy to help my friend!
Thank you so much for all your work and effort. I'm currently halfway through your course and it has helped me so much already. Forever grateful 🙏🏻
My absolute honor to help my friend!
This is 100% correct. You don’t find the highest state of being. You remove the rocks out the river and the only thing left is flow.
Beautiful man you’re great at explaining this!
God bless you Jordan ❤
I bought the course... I'm on my road to recovery and I can see lots of progress... But I find myself getting certain thoughts and wanting to cry. I'm having a hard time with emotions now. I find myself choking back tears constantly because I feel like that's a sign that I'm going backwards. I feel like if I let these things make me sad, that I'm not going to recover because they're effecting me. This is so hard for me. So so hard. I'm glad I watched this. Currently crying my eyes out. 😔
Been going through this for over a year ,but I'm way better then I was ,after I gone through therapy and lots of patience wit my self , and I also been super emotional about things that I never was emotional about , I think it's normal , cuz to me I feel relieved afterwards
@@justing9521 you're definitely right. I'm a lot better since this comment and I don't cry nearly as much anymore. Hope you fully recover! 😊
@@renaa3332 how are you doing now?
@@LilyStultz oh I'm doing good! No more dpdr. Just trying to get back to normal. My perception is still a little off but life is starting to feel right again. Can't really remember what it was like being disconnected.
@@renaa3332 how long did you experience dpdr ? And if you don’t mind me asking what caused it and was it ur first time experiencing it?
Everytime I go out and go to a place pretty far away from my house I get such bad anxiety & my chest starts hurting & I feel like im going to have a heart attack lol. But usually nothing happens. Does anyone else ever feel this way?
Yes
Allow ur body to heal, give it the right context to heal, ur job is to let ur body know it is safe
Convey ur nervous system u r safe by facing ur avoidance, live normal life...do not suppress emotions, interceptive body relaxation
So basically, go out there and fail a ton. Cos your memory nd cognition is gone
you need to face your inner world, inner reactions, inner feelings and accept them whole heartedly, you may avoid outer situations as per your trauma situation.@@atokwamena3756

@@coachjordanhardgrave it’s all good man😅 ur vids have been helping me a lot while going through this, keep up all the good work man 😎
jordan i have a really important question, is it normal over time to have the symptoms of dpdr to get better but not feel fully connected, i haven’t felt connected in years but it feels less intense. will i feel normal when it gets better than that? sorry if my english isn’t good
How do you feel now?
Please, we need a text-only version to be able to translate it into my language (Spanish), there is a great community with DPDR that you can help us and you will get more sales, not only Spanish-speaking, but anyone in the world can translate it into your language.
Hi mate, hope your well.
Hey buddy! Doing great man thanks for asking!
Can you point me in the direction of your muscle relaxation video? I can’t find it. I had it saved and not sure where it went.
You said in the video “welcome home”… if you need a reference to what I am talking about. I’m so mad I can’t find it. I hope you know which one I’m talking about.
I’ve had dpdr for a little while now and your program helped me so much. Wouldn’t say I’m at 100% but it’s not near as bad. I remember in your program you said you shouldn’t do weight lifting because it tenses up your muscles. Do I have to completely give up weight training if I want to fully recover? Because I love lifting and don’t wanna lose any of my progress. Can I also combine weight lifting with intense interval training?
Hey! Do weight training 3 days a week 45 minutes.
Hi Jordan I was wondering if time perception getting and Derealization fading is a sign of recovery?
Thank you for the video! I just wanted to ask what do you mean by not supressing crying but also people who have unregulated emotion cry all the time ? Isn't it therefore healthy if they cry easily ??
Good question. Being in tune with one’s emotions and allowing themselves to cry when it’s appropriate is healthy. But what I am referring to is when trauma emotion has never been allowed to peak and then process which means that any sensory data associated with the trauma will cause someone to become very emotional, which means they are crying when it’s not appropriate since the trauma has passed long ago.
@@coachjordanhardgrave thank you for answering :)

I’m one of those people where I truly don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve had dp 24/7 everyday for three years now. I had a point last year where I felt about 30% better but had a severe panic attack out of the blue and was back at square one. I have almost no stress with my work, I eat extremely healthy, I don’t drink coffee or caffeine, I get plenty of sleep and on paper I have a very nice, stress free life but still feeling horrible dpdr everyday. Sometimes it gets so bad I feel like I’m going to disappear. I take anxiety supplements, cbd oil and see a therapist. But feel very little change and it actually feels like it’s getting worse. I know people can recover from it but I wouldn’t be surprised if I had dpdr for life. Any advice?
Ask Jesus he is alive :)
How are you doing now? Any improvement?
I’m so sorry but as someone who also has dpdr I wish u rlly wouldn’t post negative stuff like this it’s hard to stay positive wo seeing shit like this
@@landonmagness7249 I made a lot of mistakes with recovery. You just have to be disciplined and stick the course and never stop. I started to feel a little better and went back to old habits and started to feel bad again. Plus everyone is different. I know people that have it for little, and then some longer. Just depends on the person. I’d consider my case more on the severe spectrum. But I still live my life as if I didn’t have it and there’s moments where I forget I have it
@@landonmagness7249 I think the best advice I could give you is to try to completely not care about it anymore and stop looking videos of it up. And just live your life and you’ll notice it lose its power
Hi Jordan, does your advice also help for people with autism? I started experiencing severe dpdr, anxiety and depression due to a panic attack (weed) 2 years ago. I just got diagnosed at age 19. I lived a whole life without knowing I had autism and I didn't get help for it until I got my breakdown 2 years ago.
Great question! I don’t have a ton of knowledge about autism and how it relates to trauma recovery so I wouldn’t want to speak on that much. But I will say that in general everyone needs to relax their body and release emotions in a healthy way. I believe these are imperatives for emotional regulation and relaxation for all people. :)
Im autistic and gonna try the program. Mine happened because of undiagnosed autism in school, super traumatic time for me. I think it'll still work for us. I think autism just makes us see the world differently and affects social stuff and sensory stuff. DP/DR has actually suppressed my autism symptoms. Which is really weird. But I can't have special interests anymore. If you can understand Jordans program then you can do it. I think the 1 thing I might struggle with is reaching out, because I often keep to myself. And also thinking I'm the only one experiencing this, theory of mind stuff, which is actually a DP/DR issue too, so I think it makes it worse for me. But try it and see.
@@marcelusdarcy Hi, did you buy the program? I just started it :))
Hi Jordan regardless of how you've got depersonalization to get rid of it is it always the same way i want it totally gone i need t feel normal again 😭😭😭 what the best way too do this
Just wondering what you mean by relaxing the body? Should I be trying to lay down through out the day or be practicing meditation also I just wanted to say this is helpful because I usually try to just tell mind it’s safe not just go about life as normal and relax to actually show my body it’s safe.
He’s waffling basically
@@atokwamena3756 Ive never heard of this can you explain please thank you!
hi jordan, i know much much tecnics how to overcome dp/dr but most of time i dont remember it
Thanks for commenting! Set a timer on your phone if you have to. Interval timer is a great app. Take care!
hey does ur cost money to join the zoom!??
Hey! Yes. It’s only $20 a month currently. And you get weekly group coaching with me. :)
Jesus is the answer. He healed me. "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."(John 8.36)
Amen🙏❤️
The Bible has much to say that relates to this too, like "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry" Ephesians 4:26
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."
Isaiah 26:3
Ok how do I regulate myself in order to release trauma?

If Jesus wept that should tell men everything they need to know about crying!! He's been recorded as crying more than once! Im sure he wept regularly.
