2-Stroke Bike Won't Start | Fixing a No-Spark Condition on a Yamaha MR50 (for Complete Beginners)

Every time I try to start the old 1979 Yamaha MR50 classic 2-stroke bike, it fires up after about 20 kicks. But not this time... So I had to do some troubleshooting. I found no spark, and followed a systematic approach to get the old Yamaha MR50 running again.

It'd be great to see you get a little project bike. Maybe give this one some basic TLC. Fork oil, rear shock oil, bearings, grease pivot pounts etc.

I’m gonna go buy my first dirtbike next week, it’s a 1974 Yamaha gt80 but it doesn’t run. I’ve never worked on bikes before, just cars here and there, thanks for the information. Hopefully I can put it to use! Haha
