Hey design champs! There is a run-down shed on my property that I am going to renovate into a tiny house over the next thirty days (hopefully). I'm going to move into it and rent my current bedroom out in the house. If you want to follow along with me on the journey, i'm making weekly videos to update you on the tiny house progress! This week I finished all the electrical for the house. I put in insulation in the walls and did cieling. then I finished about sixty percent of all the sheetrock!

what was your journey like moving from graphic design to UX?
@@konfusion17 Well, turbulent! I got into a startup that didn't have any UX team/workflows, as a graphic designer. Naturally, I started being asked for some page layout designs, as there was no UI/UX teams, and I slowly started getting myself in the product planning meetings. After getting the itch to do better than just push pixels and actually make meaningful decision I've done loads of courses and reading to get good at UX and then after demonstrating my ability to help make good business/product decisions I was allowed to start a UX team. The main takeaway was that as long as you're genuinely interested in helping the company/product grow and have the guts to ask to be involved in more high level decision making, you can make a shift not only in your career, but in the maturity of UX in your company. We went from not doing user research at all, to not doing anything without user research ever!

As always, I'm working on lots of voice overs, trailers, video game characters, narration and commercials. The last two months have been crazy busy, but it's all good 😊
These videos went from being the highlight of my day to the highlight of my week haha but honestly keep up the good work Zimri, the shed is looking amazing 😁

I think these videos are extremely interesting. I understand if you're tired of construction work, but I've enjoyed it even more than design ones. It's really nice to see something physical being built, rather than conceptual work.
For about 4 years I've been working on a mobile game version of Celebrity/Times up.
I have this amazing vision in my head of how it can look and the cool features I can add but working a full time job as a developer makes it hard to come home and keep on working.
When you started your videos I started getting back on the grind and I really want to finish it before the end of the year. I feel like I've been doing this so long I stopped exploring other new creative projects but I can't stop without finishing it.

Spent the last month applying for an arts university, had the final admission test and meeting today, hope I make it in. Hell of a month, but luckily I had your videos to motivate me through all of it. Seeing a new video everyday while I was working on my own stuff the whole time was great! Working on finishing our family house build, finishing up the floors and the heating system, first coat of paint on the walls today! Some days go slow and some days there's a lot of visible progress! Heck, what ever you do, be it graphic design, building a house, or maybe writing a manual about how to train elves to make pottery, you somehow manage to make it absolutely entertaining from minute one till the very "See you later!".

I am so impressed with what you are doing and learning, and teaching. You have a nice way of instructing. I'm working on a cardboard cat scratcher. Not to scratch the cat, but for the cat to scratch. So, as you can see, I'm getting a lot of good information from your videos. Thanks!!

Killer work! I'm working on soundproofing my ceiling with another layer of drywall and green glue so I don't have to hear my upstairs neighbor. I had much less success with the drywall lift than you. Mine broke in 0.6 seconds. Onward!
oh Levi! I need to sound proof one of the walls in my main house, and have definitely seen the green glue + layer of sheetrock method! would be very curious to see what difference it made for you? Are you doing 1/2 sheetrock on the new layer? Sorry about the lift! That would be awful, goodluck with the project!
I'm working like a mercenary freelance content creator to save money to build my first house. (Hopefully a triangular A-Frame Cabin). Thanks for posting these processes, I'm learning a lot just by seeing you, and I'm sure this will help me a lot when the time comes to build my own. Keep on rocking!
I'm working on a shed with patio cover (9x4 meters, of which 4x4m shed) and besides that I quit my fulltime job as product designer to work as a freelance product designer / coffee roaster for my own small roastery! Exciting stuffs.

What I’m working on - graduated from uni (Computer Science) 2 months ago so I’m preparing for my new job (software and data engineer) starting in a couple of weeks + slowly making progress on an application I’ve been creating.

At work I'm working on a whole system to incorporate industrial automation equipment into our IT infrastructure. It incorporates collecting signals from the automation side, processing them, relaying messages, recording inventory transactions and more. I started it a year ago and we are just about to hit POC. It's been a lot of work and a lot of learning new things I had never touched before. It's broken into 3 pieces an automation backend, php server backend and an Android application
I started sewing this year and making a peplum skirt for my girl atm it's so fun

As a kid I remember being told if I touched the pink insulation I'd be itchy for 100 years, so I definitely had a reaction seeing Zim touch it and cut it up without any gloves.

A friend and I are filming a specific spot in Montreal with a drone during the 4 seasons of the year and I will compile them in one video of the same view, blending and mixing the seasons with some visual effects :D hope it will come out as I imagine it.

I’m currently remodeling my girlfriends and my living room. We’re throwing out our conventional couch and instead will build a modern interpretation of an oriental-style floor couch. But to make it all work perfectly together I’m building every new piece of furniture around it myself.

You did so much hahaha, with “I didn’t do as much as I wanted” boy, you build a whole tiny home in the time I redo one single bedroom!! I’m actually working on a renter friendly makeover of the house 😂👌🏼 let me tell you, maybe i should just stick to designing 😂😂 I can do most of it myself.. but it cost me all my free time beside my fulltime job 🤦🏼♀️
Besides regular work I'm working on writing a metal music EP/album at the moment! Writing music isn't something i had ever really done before this so it takes a lot of effort for me but it's very rewarding. After that i wanna try to start a lil' freelance design career :)

Hey Zimri, I’m curious as to your reasoning behind laying the upper level of gypsum before the lower level. Whenever I’ve done it, I’ve always done bottom then top. That way you don’t have to do the screws and tape method (although that’s a neat trick!) and you can just rest the upper board on the lower one.
