Hello, I'm greek and I've made it a goal to see all of my country by the time I'm 25-28ish (I'm 18 now) and I loved this video so much! I'm off to Milos this Saturday and I'm so excited to see all of the things you're talking about, it's so nice to see foreigners enjoying Greece as much as we locals do! Great work, keep it up ❤️
What an amazing goal Ioanna! I'm excited for your home country adventures over the next decade. Thank you so much for the lovely compliment too, it means the world and I absolutely adore Greece (and would love to see more of it). Visiting Kos next month! Have the best time in Milos ☺
I've been in many countries, but Greece is my favorite place in the entire world. Your islands are pure magic!!! Way more beautiful than Bali or Maldives.
@@melissalegarda Hey! I have a query. I'm visiting Milos next year. Will early April be a good time for cliff jumping? Also, will 3 days be enough? I'll be ending my Europe trip in Milos.
@@whitewalker608 3 days is a good amount of time to explore Milos, especially if you're renting a set of wheels to get around! Early April sounds like it might be cusp of windy season, I'd try and go closer towards end of April/early May to be on the safe side. It was WILDLY windy toward the end of September so you might be alright in the spring! I'd definitely do further research 😊
I'm Greek now living in the states and about to visit Milos. I liked your video because although is brief, is structured, well presented, void from personal details, and technically well made. Couple of worthy misses you should have included in my opinion: Plaka Castle nice hike, Catacombs of Milos and close by Ancient Theater, Adamas World War II Bomb Shelter. Also in Greek, Paliochori is pronounced with an H like a hope instead of the English CH like a chore. Pronouncing the Greek words correctly gives an aura of authenticity in your comments, and projects a sense of deeper knowledge of the culture.
Hi Mel. I enjoyed your vlog. I am going to visit Milo’s in June 2022. Thanks for all the recommendations. I’ll keep you posted. Keep doing what your doing. I am a fan.
What an informative vlog! We are off to Milos, via Santorini in September and having just watched this, I cannot wait! Thank you for all the names, pics and places to visit, we will be sure to try them all out x
hello , i'm from Thessaloniki, Greece and i'm going to visit Milos on the first days of July . I really loved your video and your advice. I am a travel-maniac too and i'd love to attempt a travel vlog or some review videos for holiday destinatios . Great work!!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad this was useful, I hope you have an amazing trip to Milos. P.S. You should definitely start a travel vlog and reviews - the world needs your voice! ☺
May weather in Greece is sunny but not too hot, still beach type weather, probably a max of 22-24 degrees Celsius in the day and then a little chillier like 14 Celsius in the evenings. I’d recommend checking closer to the time just in case 😊
Hi Mel do you suggest visiting in June or September? We’re looking for a quieter time but not completely off season where no one is present. Also are you using a specific camera or edit to make the pictures look retro? Thanks so much!
Hey! I’d really recommend September, weather is beautiful and it’s quiet but there are still people around. I shoot in RAW and then edit using Lightroom afterwards! You can download my retro Vintage Grain preset for free here: www.illumelation.com/presets/vintage-grain-free-lightroom-preset
Amazing video! I am going to Milos the first week of October. Will the weather still be ok for swimming? Also do you need an international drivers license? I have read such mixed reviews on whether to rent a car or just use taxis.
Thanks so much Rosie! I reckon that would be OK for swimming, since the first week of October is still warm. I got by with my British/UK license but this was before this year’s Brexit stuff. Not sure where you’re based but I’d recommend getting an international license made just in case. I’d say renting a car saves time and money rather than using regular taxis but that’s only the case if you’re planning to drive about a lot and visit remote areas. Hope that helps :)
It will be at the height of the busy tourist season. Expect the highest rates, crowds, lines. Fortunately, in Milos there are still secluded beaches to go to avoid the crowds.
Hey! If you have a 3 year old I think staying in Klima might be a bit hazardous as it’s rocky and the waves can be strong when they hit the shore. But it is beautiful to wake up to! Might be nicer if you stay in Plaka or Pollonia, or you can stay nearer or just outside Adamas so you have access to more places/amenities by foot if you don’t fancy driving too much. Hope this helps!
Whichever you’re most comfortable with! I prefer a car since I like to leave stuff in the boot like beach blankets, sunscreen, drinks etc. But quad is easy to get around as Milos roads are super chill 👍🏽 even at night yes!
@@melissalegarda What area would you recommend staying in? I’m having a hard time deciding whether to be in a more secluded place with good views (more budget friendly) or to be in an area with more restaurants and shops but give up the view because of higher cost. I’d love to find an area that is close to everything that I need but still has good views and budget friendly. Not sure if this makes any sense.
@@christianholloway1542 I had the same decisions to make when I visited! I decided to stay in Adamas first (more budget-friendly with good views and lots to do) and then moved to Pollonia for the last few days (more expensive but stunning area and amazing restaurants). I rented a car too so it was easier to get around. Check out my recommended hotels here - www.illumelation.com/blog/greece/10-things-to-do-in-milos-travel-guide/ - the suites in Pollonia were amazing but if on a budget there are lovely airbnbs! Thank you for this video, it was super helpful. I am visiting Milos this August and planning to take a private boat ride to Klefitos. However I just want to know are the waters still? And is there a possibility to fall sick because I am a little prone to sea sickness. And no matter how much I want to visit the place, 5-6 hours boat ride just scares me a little. Thanks again!

Yes, there are public buses 😊 if you need help ask your hotel owner or a local to give you a hand!
