Its a problem with the controlers, inside they have mosfed for 3 amps. Its always cutting off when over 2 amps It’s a few videos on YT where someone open it
what Tell you is the brake cable connected to the tail of the turbine effective? I'm thinking about big gusts, can you help me... because I burned a turbine left on the brake and the wind was strong and it burned me
Great productivity but up to 2 to 3 + amps on the meter . My wind turbine meter be showing this too . Keep it spinning and producing that power for the batteries.
My wind turbine has 3 red wires to connect to the controller which has 3 blue wires but doesn't say which wires to which? Does it matter? Or does the controller sort it out? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello my friend, I presume you mean 48 volt? The only thing you can try is changing your batteries to 24 volts and see if it makes any power because at that voltage the turbine will only have to spend half as fast to start making power.
Hi Gavin, l have installed a 12v wind turbine 500w same controller as yours, it achieves up to 140w witch ls what l was expecting. the thing is it will not charge my 12v system but will charge my 24v system that said it does not appear to push up the voltage, l have ordered a buck boost converter do you think this might help with the problem l have. Thanks John. 🇬🇧
I think what is happening as the batteries constrain the output, the 12v will not allow the turbine to spin up fast enough to make any power and will therefore be stopping itself before it starts , this controller will not help nor as I am aware will any other , just run 24v and take 12 volts of each of the batteries, you could run a 12v inverter off one and have something else on the other, not sure if a boost converter will work but give it a go, let me know, hope this helps , Gavin.
Pls how can I use DC 0-100V 10A Voltage and current meter display to measure my Chinese Smaraad 1kw 48v wind turbine current? Pls send the wiring diagram. Tx.
Greetz from germany. I have same type of voltage regulate with same symptoms. For me, that's looks same sort of regulation of a standard car alternator. Most types of alternators cut off the load to the battery between 14,4 to 14,6 volt. My solution sounds to use a diodes-bridge with electrolyrcondenser and a mppt-solarcharger. The solarcharger doesn't cut of the charge above 14,3 volt....it's change the the load to the battery in watt and ampere. On the other side the turbine produce over 20 volt and up.... With the standard windcharger, it' s failed...
@@GavinFreedomLover greetz to you and thanks for your answer. Here far away it's NOT easy to get/buy a professional charger for an windturbine. Most offered products came from Asia, so far so good BUT here totally overrated to expensive for a little windturbine in size of 500 Watt. A good hybrid charger for solar and wind and dump loader costs here two or three times more than the 500 watt windturbine itself. That's the point I went the way with an diode-bridge (...near 19,00 euros and a yF4700 electrolytcondensator 25 Volt less than 3,00 euro...). My first tests offer plus 20 Volts and more...but in time we have no wind for doing more tests but it's all hobby and fun for free. But next stormy days incoming in few days and I hope for more and better results. A big thank for your very informative vids, you went the right way. Greetz from very cold Germany, time of winter means here a very stormy season 👌👍
It says 75 mv100 a on the side so should be right , I will continue to investigate I've got another one of those m so may try swapping it over maybe it's correct I don't know.

I must have got luck with this one watch my videos from the last few days it was taking 50amps+
Was ur connection right, why did u cut the yellow wire

Wind is dying down next week we shall wait for its return.
it might be that your battery is already charged, thats why you dont see current flowing. just a thought, regards
There is some current flowing but these controllers not good enough for a powerful turbine , or one that will overspeed.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
What does mean "unload led"? Is it break when there is too big voltage? I did not see if it is booting the voltage.
Yes It keeps the batteries under 14 volt
Is it important how you connect phase cables. My windmill has to low voltage to figure out phase order
My wind turbine has 3 red wires to connect to the controller which has 3 blue wires but doesn't say which wires to which? Does it matter?
Or does the controller sort it out?
Any help would be appreciated.
They can be connected in ANY ORDER it doesn't appear to matter , cheers !!!
Hi, I am getting very low voltage from 3kw turbine which is 4v though it is moving fast. What could be the reason ?

Im having same issue currently with my 48v system, Im switching to a proper mppt boost controller.
Mine actually works ok but it's not the long-term solution I'm looking for

Hello my German friend :) this is a very basic controller but seems to work pretty well, I am looking at a Tristar TS45 with dump load.

im thinking maybe they supplied the wrong shunt ie wrong mv some are 50mv some 75mv etc

What turbine is this?
it was a chinese 500w one but wasnt working well at this point.
@@GavinFreedomLover love watching them turbines spin 🙃🌬🍃
Seen video after video of disappointing results fro wind.
