Did you mean to say put it on Air Dry, or was it just a goof talking about the scorching and checking every 20 minutes? If it is on Air Dry, there is no heat, so no scorching would occur. I'm just wondering if we are actually suppose to be putting it on low heat instead of air dry. Thanks.

    • @Mattressclarity

    • @Mattressclarity

This is a Queen. It really depends on how fluffy or lofty your comforter is as well. If it is a very thick Queen comforter that really fills up your home dryer, consider drying it in a commercial dryer.

@@Mattressclarity Thanks. Since I sew, I'm actually thinking of cutting my quilt down the middle and sewing the outsides together thereby bringing the outside pockets that are filled with feathers to the inside, and then the inside almost-empty pockets to the outside. We'll see how that works.

This video (ua-cam.com/video/q4LIgodANEk/v-deo.html) shows a technique on how to redistribute your down if you've got some pancake like baffles (the squares that are sewn) and some that are full of the feathers. Additionally, it seems like a good idea would be to dry your down comforter with tennis balls, like he shows us in this video or with those wool balls (I have those) and to also put it in a mesh laundry bag. I'd say you should ensure to open up the dryer and remove it from the mesh bag periodically (like every 20 minutes or so) and then return it to the mesh bag and pop it back into the dryer with the tennis or wool balls. Hope this is helpful.
