Human behavior is fascinating, and when humans interact with one another, even more so!
Certainly
Tnks for ur opinion mummy ❤❤
Yes! Social psych was one of my favourite courses in undergrad!
Humans behavior and how they interact with each other is inevitable, and undestanding how it work and aligned gives you the ability and prediction to manipulate and controle the people's behavior and reactions in a specific way.
thank you.
You should get into a psychology major lol.
Dude I always forget about the different types of psychology, but bringing up social psychology reminded me how fascinating that field is.
knowing the whole general idea of socpsych makes you more aware, be educated to know what field you go through.

I have enjoyed listening and learning from your video. Even though, its in English I am able to use it here in Sweden for my own understanding as I am preparing for a test in Social Psychology tommorrow.
I truly enjoy your videos and would love to see a video on industrial organizational psychology. ☺️💚
I'm not familiar with that one myself, but I like to think that Human Nature is essentially about 3/4ths co-operation, necessary to maintain a society and civilisation. Then one quarter individuals competing to improve their own lives, which can also deliberately improve society at small and international scales, or achieve this as an accidental and happy byproduct!
Great video. Now I know more about social psychology. Thanks!

It's important to under going to experience this subject well
In the Stanford prison experiment, there was actually no physical violence permitted in the experiment, nor was any committed, in fact. The guards (one moreso than the rest) used creative forms of emotional abuse, humiliation and used their food/visitations/social aspects to put them into submission. Just a small thing that needed pointing out.
Thank you
Thank you

What are the scope and limitations of social psychology?
A video idea: Social Cognition and Social Perception
Please make a video of cyberpsychology🤗
How can we overcome the problem of the stability of preferences or goals ( person x in experiment 1 wants p while in experiment 2 he (x) wants q,that's when i observe x doing something g and i come up with hypothesis h,how can i test h,because after all x might have done g for r and r is at the core of h,but when i test h x had already changed his mind),in social psychology, it seems that social psychology assumes stability of preferences, otherwise hypothesis testing would sound pointless,so, are preferences stable? Do they change according to some criteria? Are some of them stable and others not? The same can be said for motivating reasons, great video by the way.
Can you please tell us more about Cosmology sociology and anthropology

Hey! Is there a possible connection between the theory of the mind and the atribution theory?
Do you have a video on humanistic psychology?
You should do a video on the 1% of parents who have serious mental illness that try to function in society and try’s to raise their kids right and usually succeed due to the support to of their loved ones and how stressful events can case them to break down and have issues in relating to what is happening to them and how more than just police need to learn about mental illness so the miss treatment of family’s of mental illness can get a fair trial
that sounds weirdly specific
@@Yuhundyd😭
This a nice video but the information is questionable. Let me explain why. If you study social psychology in america this is the information you will find, but there is much more information and theories in this field of psychology that the american books and professors dont teach. Back in the 60 era a Jesuits catholic priest who was also a psychologist was assassinated for his controversial theory about this subject and political activism. His names was Martin ignacio baro and he is widely considered the father of social psychology. In his theory he suggests that human behavior can be explained through the study of IDEOLOGY which influences action or behavior . I. His studies he uncovered the power of ideology and how this is used to “control” different types of social groups. All of his work is mainly in Spanish. He also talks about community psychology which is another important field that is intertwined with social psychology. This man was indeed a heroe and he was killed for speaking truth and fighting oppression of government.
I think most of these behaviors have logic behind then and they are not just subconscious. For example the bobo doll experiment the kids might thought that the adult knew better since he has experience etc so the way he acts must be the correct one
It's 5 44 am in the morning bruh

Can you please upload applied social psychology classes?
I should have watched this before turning my assignment lol
Never having had any education in psych I find this highly informative. The format works well at this level also. BUT, the narrative is a little too fast paced for my old brain. YT allows a playback speed of 0.75 but that is too slow and slurs your speech. So, maybe you could just slow down a little bit ...my brain can only build synapses so fast ;-)
Any books to recommend for a beginner interested in social psychology?

@@denisegaspar7433 Cool vid, made me question my acceptance of the original experiment. But performance bias was still present. It was a narrow experiment, trying to support a predetermined bias. Not quite science, and kind'a wasted half an hour of my life pretending to be smarter than it ever intended to be.

What's the difference between clinical and abnormal psychology?
I believe in some contexts they are referring to the same thing however clinical psychology is often focusing on treatment orientations, methods, and instruments of testing and treated various disorders and abnormal psychology is more focused on the diagnosis and the presentation of disorders

Social psychology is an art or science ?? Plz ans
Science
politics are usually opinion base/ POV, and often times are just two conflicting truths.
Very interesting lecture but you are little bit fast in speaking.
is this the same as sociology?
Sociology is more focused on the group as a whole, not how individuals within a group interact with each other which is social psychology
@@methodicallymaya I see, thanks for clarifying

What is social science psychology consider oneself lucky you
I was under the impression that the Stanford Prison Experiment has been discredited
🕊
isn't it also called sociology?
Sociology focuses on societies as a whole. Social psychology is an individual interacting with society
Sociology usually focuses more on the collective nature of people, societies, and cultures. Social Psychology focuses on how people affect one person's behavior, more individually.

No
I'm sure they are similar, with both dealing with observing and experiments that have a social nature.
@@jer103 they are similar but not the same as sociology studies people in general, society as a whole and like cultures for example, but in the other hand social psychology studies the impact of society on one’s behavior.

Its honestly too bad ur voice is annoying if not id keep pausing and taking notes
Social psychology is terrible. You've done zero videos about the topic of replicability because social psychology has a severe issue with it. There is also the issue of meta-analysis that has a publishing bias. The entire field of study is rubbish. Imagine all the "core theories" that relied on ego depletion. All the "classical theories" that were not even tested. This channel makes videos citing unreproducable or unreplicable "published" papers and treating them as fact. It's just as bad as listening to a self-help guru spouting misinformation.
Nah, you're talking about psychoanalysis. Social psychology ia a completely different topic that relies on empirical evidence and, as every other research-based science, it evolves constantly, rejecting or accepting the existent theories.
Wow, never even said the word “sociology.” Way to ignore 1/2 of the field.
Well, he's talking about social psychology, not sociology... 2 completely different fields
It is a sub field in both sociology and in psychology
@@CuriousPurplePig From the bio-psycho-social point of view that my university has, sociology is taken appart from social psychology (sure there are similarities and things that evolve together but I understand how a single video can not talk about everything at once). What is the approach of your university? I'm genuinely interested. And I don't think you need to brag about your studies to make a point! We're here to discuss in a friendly way si that everyone learns a bit
@@gasparortiz6556 I was just coming back to change my comment -thinking it was too harsh. Social psychology is a major sub field in sociology and in psychology. At a few universities, it is its own department. Generally, undergrad universities have socpsy taught in both psych & soc departments as separate classes. SOCPSY is also a part of any intro to sociology course as one of the major paradigms (symbolic interaction) within the field. Again, sorry for the initial harsh response. Not sure why I was so cranky :-)
