Fun fact: the reason why the tram stops for the specimen 9 ending is because specimen 9 is slowly making the walls of the railroad smaller until the tram can’t move, just like they do in the main game where specimen 9 slowly closes the walls in on that long hallway. Actually, two things SHB: 1. Both Specimen 6 and Specimen 8 have new death screen messages, though the visuals are the same (and it seems like only the original Spooky's version has the new death message?) 2. I'm not 100% certain about if Frenzy can only spawn in that bedroom, but I do know that Frenzy appears more than just after the cellar, actually! Frenzy also spawns in the secret room behind a wall. When coming from the garden, the hallway on the right of the room with the electric fence has a wall you can walk through. It is to the left when entering the hallway. She spawns in that room as well. There is also another ending behind another wall in that room. Frenzy will also spawn if you leave the doll alone for too long.

When I was watching the play through, one of my softer friends (he’s a bit younger, but he’s also just a genuine teddy bear), said that he wants to take all the sad kiddos and give them one last happy tea party, make peace with them before sealing the hell monsters and setting the souls free. He was especially saddened by Woormy Charles.

i think they are references to some unused specimens that either got remade into something else or compeletly scrapped,i feel like the dolphin might be the old version of the mermaid specimen and the matress man could be recycled into that weird bed from karamari hospital (the one with meat stuck into a bed and the ceiling) or the weird rug thing stretched out in one of the rooms from the mannequin specimen parts (i dont remember the numbers)

Listen up, ladies and gents, I have a theory. What if the doll healing us is not magic, but symbolic for having something that seems alive around to help with our mental health? I mean, we’ve been through thousands of rooms, from murderous monsters, to tricky traps, to pizza places with tacky otter animatronics that couldn’t even kill someone? We’ve gotta have something keeping us sane. And, what if, the doll isn’t actually moving itself? Maybe our character is going insane, and is moving the doll to make it seem like it’s alive? It’s depicted everywhere that some people who were driven to insanity have made objects seem like they’re alive. Furthermore, we either have to have the doll, or the axe. But an axe is a two-handed weapon. Maybe we’re moving the doll with the other hand. Also, we’re not sure what year this is set in, so there may be technological advances... ...like dolls that cry when you squeeze them. It may be porcelain on the outside, but it may be some of this newfangled malarkey on the inside. Still, this is just a theory. A theory supplied by your local person that writes very long comments that you don’t bother to read.
I read the whole thing and it does seem plausible. I think that the health bar symbolizes mental health or "sanity" which is why the PC can take such a beating before "dying". The doll might heal the health bar because the PC is comforted by a companion
On the Electric Barrier death screen, it's very faint, but it says: ELECTRIC TETHERS TORN FROM SKIN GASEOUS BLOOD ESCAPES WITHIN BONES BEGIN TO BURN AND SHAKE LEAVE THE BODY THAT YOU FORSAKE
About the ghost with hooks around it, I think when they were alive, they were presumed as cursed (which was quite common) and was thrown into a pit to slowly die from starvation. After they were brought back, the ghost tried to fight back against the cruelty and escape the mansion, so the scientists chopped off her limbs with hooks. She will forever suffer in torment and fear, killed for something she never did.
10:53 Something for people who don't know this SCP - it does not harm you without reason - there is no entity inside - if you reach inside, you can find a thing you lost or wanted to find, and in return, it takes something from you (anything, like something out of your pockets) - it will change places if you try to look on the other side - if you have nothing in return, it will take your organs away
Yeah they have a habit of borrowing other things and making them more malicious. I think it'd be interesting if the hole could give you something you were looking for but made you take damage. Like, you can choose to take damage in order to get one of the candles.
I love the idea that the scientists were like: Huh, the children are unhappy and in pain... Guess we should get them something to cheer them up... Scientist in the back of the room: I have an idea let's get them a clown! Scientist getting the clown: Welp, guess I got to get a clown from hell after all where else do you get clowns? Children: *Scared confusion noises* Scientist while caging clown: Wonder how that failed?
Frenzy is actually capable of appearing in multiple rooms, but she only appears if your doll is stressed out, which can be solved by taking a trip into the tea room.
The carpet actually reminded me of the Faces of Bélmez, in a Spanish private residence. Though skeptics insisted that this had been a hoax, not even the 2014 forensic analysis was able to define just how these faces had come to be. It's an interesting case, regardless of it being real or not.
Just a little theory of mind. What I immediately thought when playing “RIP Doug” and the nightmare part was that specimen two and Monster soldiers were connected somehow. Now RIP Doug seems to be based on Spooky’s father’s nightmare (presumably named Doug) The most frequent enemies are pink ghost like thing which are most likely based on soldier monsters in Doug’s nightmare. Now RIP Doug seems to be based on Spooky’s father’s nightmare (presumably named Doug) The most frequent enemies are pink ghost like thing which are most likely based on soldier monsters in Doug’s nightmare. But playing further for the game you can find green skull enemies and they can be seen on the art on the left side. My theory is that Specimen 2 is what these skulls are based on and it was originally part of Doug’s nightmare. (There might have been even more of that thing) Analyzing specimen two shows that it may have been Doug trying to cope with himself mixed with his experience in the war. (hence the coughing) It says how it knows what you did and that it doesn’t matter now because you’re a part of it now. This might be a representation death in the eyes of Doug, how what he did would go way if he let it consume him or how it took his sweet little angel. There’s no saying because specimen two as the most unknown out of all the specimens

I really love Spookys Jumpscare mansion because: 1. I greatly love video games with amazing stories, characters, and gameplay (ex. Bioshock infinite, spookys jumpscare mansion, and halo reach.) 2. The Specimens are Absolutely Amazing...and Creepy 3. The Story of Spooky is, while sad, is very well written. Needless to say, this game is AWESOME and Hopefully the game developers will continue making games like this 😁✌
12:50 Frenzy does not appear in that one room, she appears when the doll’s mood is low or if you don’t have it. (The doll covers its eyes when the mood is low.) Problem is, she only appears in 3 rooms. She does minuscule damage (15%) and disappears until the room is re-entered.
I watched Markiplier's playthrough and thought exactly that! "Maybe because she killed her father, it's the sound of a gun to freak us out?" I definitely did not expect... Clicky...
I think the father or the ghost that resembles spooper are the doll's spirit. Crying at the grave of spooky's mother would be the father filled with sadness, or spooper kid knowing how much spooky loved her mother, bringing them to feel sorry. Also, every time you encounter spooky with the doll, it as well cries. This could be the father missing spooky, or spooper kid being upset at the fact they see spooky dead.
I rememeber the time I drew a picture of my idea of the game's protagonist(since I've always had a thing for expanding on minor characters) and got shit for it. Akuma Kira was the guy to help me back up from that. A great guy makes a great game.
I wish Frenzy and The Hooked Doll appeared in more rooms. Their designs and attacks are cool and it would be scary to see them in rooms they weren't in before.
Oh, and I think you explained the hooked doll poorly. It only attacks when *looking* at them, and if they are too close while looking at them, you will see what normally happens for frames at a time your HP icon: A human heart with cracks on it. This used to be always a human heart when *LOOKING* in it's direction, but updates have changed it. Essentially, don't look at it. It will always stop moving and will not attack if you are averting your eyes.
I'm playing on the Halloween update from 2021, and I really love the new map mechanic, the added achievements and generally the whole game more. The update had a lot of specimen chase reworks and gimmicks; I'm surprised this game is still being updated, but at least that means we'll get Build your own Mansion soon.
I remember watching one of your videos and not being scared at all, once I went to sleep I was completely unable to go to sleep, can anyone else relate?
I like how specimens 6, 8, and 11, are the ones that are chosen. Let me explain further: Specimen 8 is a deer like creature, but is also a forest Deity according to the fandom wiki. Specimen 11, the "Food Demon" is covered in fire. Specimen 6 came to be when he drowned in water. Grass, Fire, Water, you are basically choosing a starter Pokémon, but with horror aspects
For some of these that want revenge on those who have tortured them, mainly the ones that stand still at some point, I wonder if there could be any kind act to make them not brutally murder you. Say that you're going to save them, give em a hug, tell them how important and lovely they are. (Btw, this is mostly a joke)
Imagine being the doll, like you're just sitting there occasionally changing your face expression while the person holding you was getting attacked by literally everything
I feel like Woormy Charles could be a homage to the monsters, or rather enemies named Ruins present in the game Alice Madness Returns, his design, and especially the porcelain mask remind me of them alot. Also, the Hooked Dall appears to be homage to Sadako from the film Ring, as she is suposed to be evil.
I’m glad this game gets a good ending, seriously this is one of the scariest games I’ve ever seen, not only is it extremely creepy but also an epileptic’s nightmare, with so many flashing screens
The silver hooked doll only attacks if you dont keep her at the edge of your screen. Frenzy shows up everywhere when your doll has low potency. Your doll is the husk of Spooky. Spooky's husk can be shaken to restore your health at the cost of her potency. Her potency also drains if you hold her around her mom's grave or the clown. In the area where you get the melded doll hands if you enter the hall and instead of going right where the rooms are and instead walk towards the dead end on your left, you can walk through it to find a door, this will take you to an unmarked hallway. If you press up against the left wall and continue walking long enough, you will pass through the wall again and be in a room with loads of stars and a plaque in the middle that reads "You're in the know, right?" followed by an encrypted message. After deciphering the message, it reads "Into the Sea, you and me, all these years and no one heard." If you plug this sentence into Google, you are then brought to a music video called The Love Cats by The Cure. This is a pop song from 1983 and as of now, doesn't really hold any significance to the story or lore of Spooky's, it is merely the lyrics of song that Akuma Kira probably really likes. The full part of the segment the message comes from is "Into the Sea, you and me, all these years and no one heard, I'll show you in spring it's a treacherous thing. We missed you hissed the lovecats, we missed you hissed the lovecats."
The clown is hilarious to me. The fact that there's all this buildup and then it's harmless just gets me. You know, right before Frenzy does because the doll is terrified.
Anyone else notice the heart in the upper left changing to an anatomically correct heart strung up by hooks when the hook ghost gets close while you're looking?
Spooky: hey so uh.. there might be some monsters out there that want you dead so uh watch out or whatever. Player: Awe, thanks for the tip Spooky. Maybe your not so bad after all Spooky: *tells the ghosts where the player is* Player: oh come on!
"Their shells are cracked and stained in blood, and chests split wide open. The husks face and hair is singed, with its lower jaw left completely broken." I heard a possible rhythm sentence at 1:24 so I changed the end of the second sentence to fit. Just thought it sounded neat the way you said it :D
There’s a secret in the L shape hallway next to the electric barrier. You can go through a secret entrance at one of the ends of the hallway to find a secret door. Entering it will lead to a maze like room with dead ends everywhere but it ultimately leads back at the entrance of the room. There you’ll find another secret room, but this one has a space like background and a panel that has an encrypted message on the panel. While hard to decipher, you can enter words into the panel to solve the puzzle. The password is “Into the sea, you and me All the years and no one heard.” which is a reference to the song “Love Cats” by the band “The Cure.” Doing this will bring up a gruesome poem (that i have now mentioned because this is already too long) but after all the haunting music and creepy words, it will all give you a Game Over. *fun times*
I have a theory about Spooky's dad; He is seen on the floor with a white coat right? Well Lukas Kara had said during his experience in WW2 that he served with a strange soldier wearing white instead of olive green from June 6, 1944 to August 19, 1946, this particular soldier is Cpl. Cameron Sykes, a medic who wore said clothing to make sure he didn't die, furthermore Lukas said that just like him in 1944, Cpl. Sykes helped enemy soldiers even though they threatened him with death. But instead of being the one put into custody like Lukas, the Nazis _saved_ by Sykes were questioned. So apparently, Spooky's father is Cameron Sykes, one of Lukas' favorite soldiers from World War Two.
When I first brought the doll into the garden, she covered her eyes, which really unnerved me. I had never seen her do that before and it was a bit unsettling. I still don't know why she did it.

Kinda seems like the opposite of lazy. You were eager to go. XD
That’s extremely wholesome

Here's another fascinating detail. When you are first dropped into the father's nightmare, look behind you. The character was just sitting in the same red chair from Karamari Hospital.
Oo! That's interesting- so maybe the thing there is him? Or a remnant of his soul at least.
...but why was he at the hospital?
@@Lance-we2ud If I had to guess, spooky died in hospital after being shot.
And her father is grieving her meaning the shadowy figure we see on the chair in the hospital is actually the image of Spooky’s father.
I wonder why he takes you to that weird planet.
Sorry if you've already covered this but, did you ever talk about the extra entries in the CAT-DOS computer? They included specimen 9 in it's boss form, "Dolphin", "Lines", "Mattress Man" and "Paina". I saw a video about the easter egg and wondered if you knew of them. It's accessed by reaching a computer, going to modify house layout 6 times then click on specimen 9's entry and it will come up with the extra entries.

@@carscarrasquillodelgado3450 ?
i think they are references to some unused specimens that either got remade into something else or compeletly scrapped,i feel like the dolphin might be the old version of the mermaid specimen and the matress man could be recycled into that weird bed from karamari hospital (the one with meat stuck into a bed and the ceiling) or the weird rug thing stretched out in one of the rooms from the mannequin specimen parts (i dont remember the numbers)

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 props to you for making this long comment theory!! Even tho it was probably useless!!
I didn't read but 👏👏👏👏👏
oooh i actually like this theory ngl :0
However, I bothered to read this.
I read the whole thing and it does seem plausible. I think that the health bar symbolizes mental health or "sanity" which is why the PC can take such a beating before "dying". The doll might heal the health bar because the PC is comforted by a companion
On the Electric Barrier death screen, it's very faint, but it says:
ELECTRIC TETHERS TORN FROM SKIN
GASEOUS BLOOD ESCAPES WITHIN
BONES BEGIN TO BURN AND SHAKE
LEAVE THE BODY THAT YOU FORSAKE
I see it but not that much
About the ghost with hooks around it, I think when they were alive, they were presumed as cursed (which was quite common) and was thrown into a pit to slowly die from starvation. After they were brought back, the ghost tried to fight back against the cruelty and escape the mansion, so the scientists chopped off her limbs with hooks. She will forever suffer in torment and fear, killed for something she never did.
13:30 this.
It has to have some lore behind it.
Let’s figure it out bois.
I’m saying that the second verse could be hinting to the bad end. Dunno.

Something for people who don't know this SCP
- it does not harm you without reason
- there is no entity inside
- if you reach inside, you can find a thing you lost or wanted to find, and in return, it takes something from you (anything, like something out of your pockets)
- it will change places if you try to look on the other side
- if you have nothing in return, it will take your organs away

What I immediately thought when playing “RIP Doug” and the nightmare part was that specimen two and Monster soldiers were connected somehow.
Now RIP Doug seems to be based on Spooky’s father’s nightmare (presumably named Doug)
The most frequent enemies are pink ghost like thing which are most likely based on soldier monsters in Doug’s nightmare.

The most frequent enemies are pink ghost like thing which are most likely based on soldier monsters in Doug’s nightmare.
But playing further for the game you can find green skull enemies and they can be seen on the art on the left side.
My theory is that Specimen 2 is what these skulls are based on and it was originally part of Doug’s nightmare.
(There might have been even more of that thing)
Analyzing specimen two shows that it may have been Doug trying to cope with himself mixed with his experience in the war. (hence the coughing)
It says how it knows what you did and that it doesn’t matter now because you’re a part of it now.
This might be a representation death in the eyes of Doug, how what he did would go way if he let it consume him or how it took his sweet little angel.
There’s no saying because specimen two as the most unknown out of all the specimens
Nice Idea, but I personnally don't belive it because Doug was very young when he died.

I like how specimens 6, 8, and 11, are the ones that are chosen. Let me explain further:
Specimen 8 is a deer like creature, but is also a forest Deity according to the fandom wiki.
Specimen 11, the "Food Demon" is covered in fire.
Specimen 6 came to be when he drowned in water.
Grass, Fire, Water, you are basically choosing a starter Pokémon, but with horror aspects
XD Nice.
"Children trapped in dolls"
Alice: madness returns vibes anyone?
It would be scary if Spooky made the ClockTower boss from Epic Mickey
Are we just not going to talk about how well this game was made??👏👏
The silver hooked doll only attacks if you dont keep her at the edge of your screen.
Note about frenzy: I have encountered her in other rooms before. It's quite rare, but it did happen in the GL Labs rooms.
The clown is hilarious to me. The fact that there's all this buildup and then it's harmless just gets me.
You know, right before Frenzy does because the doll is terrified.

Fun fact: The Japanese text displayed during Ringu's alternate jumpscare translates to "it's a hole made for me to get in."
Yeesh.
"THIS IS MY HOLE! IT WAS MADE FOR ME!"
If you die to the Hooked Doll, you become the new one. That's why the hooks are flying at you. She's attaching you to the wall. That's how I see it.
I think the Japanese at 6:38 says something like "its a hole made for you to enter". I dont know though.
I have a theory about Spooky's dad;
He is seen on the floor with a white coat right?
I think she was upset.
Wormy Charles is hands down the creepiest monster ever in the Spooky franchise, nobody can change my mind about that! 😱😱😱😱😨😖😖
