And you were just about to say it right at the beginning of the video Diatomaceous Earth. When you head west towards George you can see the mine off of silica road. Looks like a snowy hill in the distance.

Wow Mike, are you gonna collect rocks now? That's why I like watching your videos cause it helps me discover possible areas for rocks. I yell for you to stop and pick up a rock but apparently you can't hear me though the TV.

Hi Nicholas, I'm not much of a collector of things. Except skateboards. I have 12 longboards. lol Too bad I don't ESP because I'd be more than happy to pick up and show you those rocks! My son has a keen interest in geology and shows me a wide variety of rocks on our hikes. I be more mindful in the future and include those in my videos. Thanks again!

Very cool area for sure! I have a piece of petrified wood from a fossil beach here in Nova Scotia. Such a great place for mineral lovers! Awesome stuff! Bruce and Otis

Hi Mike! Love the videos, Echo Basin and the sand dune are on my winter hike list.
I run a hiking podcast called Hikes & Mics and would be honored to have you as a guest on an upcoming episode to discuss your hiking adventures. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Hi Ivan, thanks for the kind offer. I'm a rather timid person but will think about it. I don't have to many adventurous things happen. Although last summer when we hiked Silver Peak, my son an I got separated and I had a face to face black bear encounter, then ended up on an abandoned railroad grade, with the only option to hike thru a 2 mle long train tunnel to reach my son. I ened up having the fire department basically "rescue" me out the tunnel at 11 pm at night. That was too much adventure!

One more thing...I didn't record any of it, because It was late evening, I didn't have a flashlight that was fully charged and was I racing against impending nightfall to reach a small ski town where my son was waiting. I might do a re-enactment video next spring about the experience.
