In this Video of Balan Wonderworld Gameplay, I show you the Full Version of the Game, you can get on the Nintendo Switch eshop. In this Video we play all of Chapter 2 and defeat its Boss at the end. You can collect some cool Trophies and play with some nice costumes in the game. Balan Wonderworld is made from the person who created Sonic and Nights into Dreams and is published by Square Enix for almost every consol. Ngl the designs are perfect at times, the person who worked on the designs worked for Sanic I believe so that’s why the controls are just, awful, but I like how they gave the players a challenge and to destroy the bosses in different ways, if they took time to improve the storyline and the controls it could of been much better

I really love the ideas and concepts of the game, but a lot of it felt rushed as a result. It’s too bad, because I saw a lot of penitential for this to be a really great game.

The songs are originally in the made up language.
Apparently getting all the statues in a stage changes them to english, which is a really unique idea.

You know, from what I heard about the game, I actually really like the story. It's a 'show, don't tell' that shows real life situations people go through in life. Sometimes, it's hard to find the strength to take action or just move past what seems like a dead end, but there's always a new angle to see it and learn to continue living with that new knowledge you learned.
Despite the small selection, the musical numbers are good catchy tunes and the cutscenes for each chapter has a lot of personality to them. Balan in particular was really enjoyable, either with his sneaky Waldo cameos or his little outros for the characters' chapters. Honestly, I got misty-eyed when they actually thanked him before leaving, the main duo's hug with him shedding a tear, and revealing his face to them to show the bond they've grown over the journey.
Say what you will about the game, but I honestly think this series should get a second chance sometime in the future.

The cutscenes are definitely a bit of a treat. It has a really honest and wholesome message. It's just a shame that the game they're attached too is just really lacking.

This story honestly taught me things.
Things that can happen in your life, People or occurrences can happen, but don’t let those little things get to you. But instead.. carve it into something you want. Not what others want. Don’t be with those who drag you down, be yourself. Put some hard work into the things that YOU want to accomplish, don’t let your emotions drag you down! Stay confident about yourself, stay positive! Not the negative side or you’ll be the monster that you always wanted to avoid.
I know Balan Wonderworld had a different positive/negative impacts on people, but it taught me.. to make my own decisions, not let anyone control me, I know how that is, since I had a real problem with that and still dealing with it, But I don’t want to be a part of the negativity and drama, instead, I want to feel free and happy about myself.
Always look back at yourself and your past and see what YOU can change for your future!

As an artist I'm basically in love with balan's design. It's like a chef's kiss.
Its SO good. Oshima's design work for this game is top notch. I genuinely hope we can see Balan in something better someday.

I’m attempting to port Balan’s model to SFM for other uses. Seeing as the developers spent the majority of their budget on the cutscenes and him alone might as well give him more of a use. Also I really enjoy his design and unique character arc

@@acidicali7776 It explains literally everything! All the dialogue you feel like would explain the story? All there! It explains why the people became monsters, how lance became corrupted, explains relationships between characters in the actual world, why people can’t just leave wonderworld. It actually reads more like a script for the game than a book, but it’s so much better.
When I see Balan I think of a mix of Arsene mixed with a human shadow, both the persona series. It's the eyes and that cocky and charming attitude.
Not saying it's a bad thing, either and makes me wish that Balan was actually playable. Especially during boss fights.
Well, there is a costume....if you have the patience to breed two Tims with three badges and collect rainbow drops. I did and it's very useful for transportation

This is so Incredibly amazing! It's like seeing NiGHT'S Journey into Dreams all over again. Man, I sure miss playing the game though I wish Sega Studio USA, Sonic Team would

But to answer your question, he has an attitude problem and thinks hes better at everyone else. So he never got any friends, because he doesn't try to get any.

So there's a farmer who has literally lost his entire livelihood in a storm, a girl who's had everyone die around her, and a woman who was nearly murdered by the dolphin she swam with....
But the girl who lives in a literal palace whose only issue is that her servants may or may not have been whispering about her is the protagonist.
Haha relatable! But there was prolly something else going on that was explained in the novel with the mc.
They usually try to make the protagonist relatable, so they would probably have more relatable or common problems.
I think they point of her is that she feels judged behind her back, which is a pretty relatable issue. Not sure why they made her rich tho.

The tone of these cutscenes really shows how much passion the developers had for the project. So why then does the game feel like it wasn’t even play tested a single time?

The ending is basically just seeing your pals from group therapy
I like to imagine myself there with Balan. My woes have been these past few years. My dad needing a liver transplant and dying, getting kicked out of a university cause of low grades after that, and the pandemic trapping me. But things turning around with my grades improving at community college despite the pandemic and achieving my dreams of getting my own art and stories out there, and starting again with volunteer work after my traumas at the hospital. I know Dad would be proud!

Not to mention the girls who’s family died looks like a teenager and is hardly taller than the protagonist which is kinda sus for her fiancé
This should gets it own anime series
It reminds me of Death Parade, so if you're interested in a similar premise, I recommend it. Also Infinity Train, as it deals with complex situations like finding one's identity

Been seeing Wonderworld get a lot of negative reviews. Mainly because of a poor Demo, and how people don't get how the focus is about helping people with their problems since it's a "show, don't tell" type of story. It ticks me off...especially since it's a good game with a good message to it, but nobody's bothering to try and look past the surface stuff. Especially given how much people NEED to hear the message to help one another these days!

Fun fact actually the ending scene in the game apparently happens in the novel to. Someone actually took balan dialogue from the book and put some subtitles for the ending cutscene you can find it if you search it up on yt pretty easily. Highly suggest everyone read the book especially if you didnt like the gameplay. From what I've heard the book is great and explains a lot more of what's happening. Havent finished the full thing yet but from what I've seen it's pretty good

Thank you for this. I for one enjoyed the gameplay too. Like, once I got past my initial feelings, it was really magical, like I was playing an old game from the 90s. And the bosses were incredible!

Yuji naka had a great vision for this game, the comcept was pretty good, but unfortunelly the execution was lackluster gameplay-wise.
Love the designs and the concept of the story, but the execution was terrible. I feel like this is something an indie game director could have pulled of better, one who knows both about story telling throw gameplay and also fluid gameplay and level design

@@rocktoo7603 I see. But a lot of they complain about things they even didn't try to undertand. Things that are explained during the adventure.
Or they complain about a silly things: the name of main Character Balan(being a good name) and the enemy's name Lance(being a bad name). But the game's main message is about the BALANCE beteween good and bad. So BALAN / LANCE = BALANCE.
Is the same to complain about RESIDENT EVIL *CODE VERONICA having a bad name, but all make sense if you give it a real chance. This was just one exemple...
The only thing i agree with they is the jump action sometimes be off becaouse of the cloth.

A game that preaches balance from Japan is mildly funny. The insane work hours Japanese salarymen undergo due to their work ethic and loyalty to their employer is the antithesis of what this game tries to convey.
You might be interested to check out Naka's other games - he consistently tends to put a lot of more Western values into his stories.

I think they could have waited to complete the game. 2. Since his intro cutscene, at the close look to his "face", it doesn't look like skin. And there is always a reason, I think he was a *spoiler censored* for what Lance said at the end of the chapter 3 of the novel, his words can be interpreted that way, who knows, and why everyone accepted quickly Lance's real face but not all did the same with Balan's?
At least Balan is a nice version of Bill Cipher, more colorful, the embodiment of creation and light, and friendly additude.

@@Takimeko First of all, the novel only goes into lore, the stories are easy to get in game, second, we need to read, reading feels the imagination and the soul and third, you can already imagine what Balan says and last, the novel with or without game it's pretty great.

They just get lucky, like the farmer or the girl with her cat being alive.
I mean, this game should be about Balan helping people go through bad times, not giving them the easy way out.
I would have also preferred if the boy who wanted to fly spent his whole life studying aerospace engineering. Study so hard to be able to revolutionize the whole subject.
This miraculously good idea he had out of nowhere is, again, an unrealistically easy way out.
Honestly, if you want an emotional game about overcoming trauma, play Omori.

The fact that the game is so bad at story telling that it needs an entire novel (as far as I know, the novel also costs) makes it even worse.

You can buy it by 10 dollars in amazon for kindle or itunes but if you can't answer to this simple question: Do you speak Spanish? Because someone made a full fan adaptation to Spanish.
I felt like this would have been better as a film or series, in all honestly. Yuji Naka has the artistic vision, but some art doesn't translate into video games that well without a strong Balan-Lance-ing, of art vs performance. I felt like they should have had a supervisor and outside testing to give them feedback about the game that would have saved it, but as it stands now, the cutscenes and novel are better.
That said, Balan Wonderworld absolutely deserves to go on, maybe not as a game but as a novel, webcomic, movie or series, because there's incredible potential for it :)

@@kellyscorner1319 I understand that, though the structure reads more like a script than a story. Yuji should focus more on writing and turn it into a proper book, since right now it's meant to be read along with the game to essentially tell the player what's going on.
Again, Balan deserves another chance in a different medium if it's brought back, or in the very least have another development team and supervisor involved.

Kinda late but the entire ending scene goes down in the novel from what I've heard. Someone even took the dialogue from the novel and gave the ending cutscene subtitles for balan
