    Although the Lavalier II had a slight more richer, fuller sound than the Lav GO, to my ears, it's not enough to consider upgrading. I have two Lav GOs and am quite happy with them. Thanks for the comparison test!

    • @piotrgraniszewski8544
      @piotrgraniszewski8544 2 роки тому

      Agreed. A little bit of EQ and compression will close the gap instantly.
      The only real difference between the mics is low-end response and that is trivially easy to compensate for.

    Thanks for this great review. I came here before making a purchase, and although I preferred the Lav II, I decided to purchase the Lav Go as it's half the price and didn't seem a justifiable upgrade.

    I just got the Wireless Go 2 system for teaching yoga, and have been figuring out which lavalier mic would be better, and feel the Lav 2 is best for me, especially with that Kevlar reinforced cable. Should hold up much better for bending and moving around a lot, and the extra dead cat for out door sessions is nice. I now know which mic to go with. Thank you for the thorough review.

    I believe the mic placement for the Lav 2 is on the side of the mic rather on top of the mic like the Rode Go Lav. Because of this side mic placement, the Lav 2 is more likely to pick up noise if you try to conceal it. (like when having the mic brush up against the inside your shirt when the mic is concealed). For this reason I purchased both...though never tested this assumption (Whether one works better than the other when tucked inside you shirt)...and the Rode Go Lav mic is still available and has been discounted in price so I went for both. The Rode Go Lav mic also makes a good back up and can also be used in a dual system so not a total loss if its doesn't get used much.

    Answered my question perfectly.
    I don't hear enough of a difference to buy the more expensive mic. Here in Australia it is close to double.
    Yes it has a tiny bit more detail outside but not enough.
    Great vid.

    I had already two Smartlav+ die on me (for no apparent reason suddenly the white noise is as loud as the main audio). Therefore either buying the Lav GO of Lav II next. Still undecided after the video since the Lav II is 30% more expensive where I live .. but maybe as you pointed out it’s more durable … and that could safe me another run to the store next year 😅

    At the outdoor shots, you can clearly hear the difference.
    The Lavalier II sounds brighter and has more bass.
    Definitely more frequency range for some EQs.

  • @joseluisruiz3789

    there was a very slight difference between both from what I could hear at least with my Shure SE846's was a very slight boost in the Lavalier ll sensitivity wise but it was so minimum to me that I don't think I'll be missing out vs the Lavalier Go's that I have. I bought 3 of them for the Wireless Go ll Stereo and single version as well which I know it's overkill but I wanted to match my Gopro Hero 10 B footage audio to my Sony Alpha A7IV Main Camera footage audio by pressing the record button on them at the same time to do my best to keep them synced. I've been able to make them sound better in post with Equalizing the mic audio but I feel like there is still room for improvement. I just wish I had more knowledge on this kind of stuff. thank you for sharing your experience with us. 🙇‍♂️🙏

    Hi Blake, big fan of your YT channel! As you are my go-to Filmic Pro guy: Maybe you can make a video about the different shooting options we have now with the iPhone 13 Pro? I would be especially interested in a comparison of 10-bit LogV3 vs. Dolby Vision vs. ProRes. So in which format are you shooting or better: For what content are you using which format? Pro’s and Con’s etc. Thanks already!

    I just bought the Lavalier II on Amazon but I was just wondering whether it's a better idea to get a used lavalier or a whole 'nother system from another brand, as per advice by my cousin who works as an audio technician. He suggested Sennheiser, Shure and Audio Technica. Of course I consulted with him after purchasing the Lavalier II. But then do I really need pro results? I'm such an amateur in the end.

    • @iphoneographers

    • @totoroutes5389
      @totoroutes5389 2 роки тому

      @@iphoneographers
      Whatever the aspect ratio was in the camera during that recording the anamorphic filter should've made the image squeezed. Since there was no squeeze whenever attaching that filter, maybe that filter was faulty.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  2 роки тому +1

      It did squeeze it. It was 1.15x. Most anamorphic adapters are 1.33x. So it was minimal, but definitely squeezed from the standard 16x9.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  2 роки тому +1

      I’m not had that issue with either. Remember there’s gain control built into the mics (I tend to leave it on Low) and then it depends on the camera or app you’re using to record and set the input levels. But overall I do like V2 better just because of the field recorder aspects and the ability to record two mics into one receiver. Referring to the Rode go kit in that respect.
