We are Ash and Dan and we're on a mission to visit 100 countries!
Join us today as we explore the centre of Shymkent, on Kazakhstan's silk road. We took an overnight train from Karaganda and finally reached the warmth of south Kazakhstan. Shymkent really impressed us with its beautiful parks, interesting architecture and don't get us started on the bread!!

You should taste "Kospa" (Коспа). It is national dessert with gentle creamy taste. You can find it in farm shops and bazaar.
And regarding "Court", most tasty "Court" - homemade, it's not so salty and more natural.

In the movie Borat there is nothing in common except the name of the country. The directors who made the movie thought it was funny to take the name of an existing country. There is not a single Kazakh in this movie and the movie was not filmed in Kazakhstan.
