That was one of my first tommy videos, and based on the title, I never expected to laugh as hysterically as I did. I actually can't think if a video that's made me laugh so hard, and the fact that it's just a couple of kids playing minecraft while comparing twitch prime/dream to jesus just makes it better.

a canon death is only caused when you lose 3 lives, but these deaths only count if in a big event like the revolution (example. tommy was killed in Erets supply trap were he betrayed L'manburg that was 1 life, he also lost a second life in the Dream V Tommy ,1v1 for L'manburg. [which he lost])

The reason niki doesn’t like sapnap ar the moment is because her and fundy just fought a whole war against him, that you can look into on fundy’s channel if you’re curious, it’s called the pet war and gives a lot of insight into niki and fundy’s positions before and during some of the elections.
Canon is a very very complicated idea things are usually canon but in varying degrees and canon deaths are almost always planned to some extent because they are in limited amount (everyone except maybe dream has 3) and always incredibly plot-relevant deaths. For example, all the deaths in the Final Control Room were “canon” deaths, as well as Tommy’s death in the duel. Not any other deaths in the revolution were canon, and the idea of canon deaths wasn’t actually established until wayyyyy into the second really big arc, only a month or two ago. It’s fun because you just sort of get to decide what’s “canon” and what isn’t, and the rules are really easy to bend.

For example, Fundy had a separate conflict going on around election time called the pet war around this time that doesn’t really affect the main plot, other than developing fundy’s and sapnap’s characters. That led to the almost-civil war that Tommy mentioned in the beginning of the election video.

While most people are allowed 3 canon deaths, there are two exceptions. Philza is playing the smp on hardcore, so he only has one life. And Dream has an unknown amount of lives (confirmed by Wilbur).

I'll list everyone's (of note and as of where you are currently) lives below the other paragraph. Also yes, the SMP is a bit scripted, they started to plan things out a bit during the Revolution for L'Manburg but not much. It's mainly improv, as Tommy points out on a stream with Wilbur that the only thing he knew that was going to happen in the war was that he was going to have a big clash with Dream, he didn't if he was going to win or lose. Also, no one knew Eret was going to be a traitor. Wilbur and Tommy have said that wasn't planned at all. Everyone's (of note) lives (note some may have had canon deaths but we aren't aware of it, also this is as of where you currently are as not to spoil): 3 Lives: Eret, BadboyHalo, Skeppy, George, Sapnap, Ponk, Quackity, any new people 2 Lives: Fundy (died during Eret's betrayal), Tubbo (died during Eret's betrayal), Wilbur (died during Eret's betrayal) 1 Life: Tommy (died during Eret's betrayal, died during the duel with Dream) Unkown: Dream (Wilbur actually said Dream is a mystery on the number of lives he has but the wiki notes Tommy running him over with the minecart as an impactful death for Dream)

My point is, 99.99% of the deaths on the server aren't canon deaths, even if there's roleplaying and plot involved. It's only when there's a character reason why the death matters.
In the first video "the heist" may be canon in the sense that some of the events may translate into the characters later in the story but it isn't ACTUALLY canon...i think because juvie isn't like a think in the SMP (yet)
I've mostly been on Dream's side just because Tommy's usually the one that starts the problem. Like literally, the server was peaceful until the day he joined lol.
the reason why the war was started was because tommy didnt just give dream back his things that he literally stole from his corpse, the usual way of doing things if someone dies is u put it in a chest for them to pick up if u killed them or they died, but he literally stole them
so a canon death isn’t a death that happens in a canon event, it’s a death that impacts the plot, like tommy’s death against dream in the duel, or the deaths during the eret betrayal. if every death that happened in a canon event was a canon death everyone would already be dead like seven times over
@@YoBGS it’s debated whether that counts as a canon death, to the point where it keeps getting removed and replaced on the wiki. wilbur, when he was listing people’s canon deaths listed dream’s as ??? so it’s up in the air whether it counts
Tip: not all deaths that happen during canon events are canon deaths. If a death is not necessary for the plot, it's not a canon death, even if the event in which they die is considered canon. For example, Tommy losing the bow battle was canon because it was necessary for the plot to move forward. Meanwhile, Tubbo's many deaths during war/negotiations aren't needed for the story to make sense and hold no emotional tension, and therefore aren't 'canon'.
Thunder1408 = Jack Manifold Quackity = guy in vc with Tommy in the first vid Dream's first cannon death (and only one counting) is when Tommy ran him over with the minecart, all other deaths during the railway skirmish isn't cannon -or so i believe- I was 100% on Pog2020, I even made a little doodle about it once since my internet was out, haha
A reminder that canon deaths didn't become a thing until fairly recently, so unless they mention it I wouldn't think too much about it (and also they are kind of meme-y )

The election is about the point where they actually started planning major plot points, by the way, so it was a little more planned throughout the elections and the story and roleplay could run a lot more smoothly.
There are a couple of skeppy videos to watch if your just getting introduced to his channel and probably the 2 biggest are ( I applied for staff on a server and this was the interview ) or ( UA-camrs Cyberbullying each other ) with the first being sort of an unofficial start to his friendship with badboyhalo and the other being pure entertainment and chaos ( which in my opinion is sort of what skeppy is )
Cannon deaths domt only occur when theyre durring wars. Durring wars when theres alot of deaths they dont count, cannon deaths are only when they effect the plot in an important day (also theyre usually scripted/planned ahead of time).
If you were to react to a skeppy video, I would start with one of his 1000$ challenges (he has like 40 or 50 of them) or maybe "I tried a cursed troll on technoblade but it backfired" or one of the 2 escape room type videos hes done with other youtubers being "I tested how dumb youtubers are" and "I tested how smart youtubers are" they are both gold. Similarly Eret's betrayal was a big plot moment that affected all of the L'Manberg boys deeply (to the point that it's STILL relevant and was just mentioned again in today's stream.) It's the entire basis of Eret's character arc and it's the reason why L'Manberg suffered such great losses.
My point is, 99.99% of the deaths on the server aren't canon deaths, even if there's roleplaying and plot involved. It's only when there's a character reason why the death matters.
In the first video "the heist" may be canon in the sense that some of the events may translate into the characters later in the story but it isn't ACTUALLY canon...i think because juvie isn't like a think in the SMP (yet)

Fair enough, but keep in mind that without Tommy the server probably would've died - the "peaceful"ness was getting old

the reason why the war was started was because tommy didnt just give dream back his things that he literally stole from his corpse, the usual way of doing things if someone dies is u put it in a chest for them to pick up if u killed them or they died, but he literally stole them
so a canon death isn’t a death that happens in a canon event, it’s a death that impacts the plot, like tommy’s death against dream in the duel, or the deaths during the eret betrayal. if every death that happened in a canon event was a canon death everyone would already be dead like seven times over
But what about Dream vs the Minecart?
@@YoBGS it’s debated whether that counts as a canon death, to the point where it keeps getting removed and replaced on the wiki. wilbur, when he was listing people’s canon deaths listed dream’s as ??? so it’s up in the air whether it counts
Tip: not all deaths that happen during canon events are canon deaths. If a death is not necessary for the plot, it's not a canon death, even if the event in which they die is considered canon. For example, Tommy losing the bow battle was canon because it was necessary for the plot to move forward. Meanwhile, Tubbo's many deaths during war/negotiations aren't needed for the story to make sense and hold no emotional tension, and therefore aren't 'canon'.

Dream's first cannon death (and only one counting) is when Tommy ran him over with the minecart, all other deaths during the railway skirmish isn't cannon -or so i believe-

Cannon deaths domt only occur when theyre durring wars. Durring wars when theres alot of deaths they dont count, cannon deaths are only when they effect the plot in an important day (also theyre usually scripted/planned ahead of time).
