The states are divided half use soda half use pop im from Texas and we say soda and i moved to oklahoma they say pop lol it drives me crazy

Watch out when using carbonated beverages as a candy base!! I used to use soda stream syrup to make my rootbeer gummies and they go moldy very quickly. Potassium sorbate doesn’t fix the problem. It all comes down to science, the carbonate attracts water and water / moisture = mold. I gave them out as gifts at Christmas time last year and normally my edibles have a shelf life of 6 months but the recipe with the soda made them mold within a week. I’m happy you’re using flat pop, but beware.❤️
Do you ever use pectin instead of gelatin in gummies or doesn’t pectin gel hard enough for gummies? I’m going to try this using a syringe of distillate since I don’t have the infused sugars.
If I am using a concentrate can I just use the same amounts of sugar and syrup as you did cannasugar and cannasyrup?

Good morning. I have found your group by a referral on a growers group on facebook. I am wondering, without watching all of the videos, do you have a gummy recipe to make them so they last longer than a couple days? I am hoping to get a recipe so they last as long as possible to store for a long time. Thanks!!!!!!!
Any of the recipes I have the candies last for months as long as you don't use real fruit juice or store in zip lock baggies. If you use real fruit juice, you have to use a mold inhibitor

Liz, I have a technical question and would like your educated opinion, if you don't mind. If you had some unflushed herbs that tasted like Morton's lite they were so salty w potassium and wanted to make butter with water stovetop style old school, do you think the reason magic butter tells you not to use water is like the reason you aren't supposed to substitute a cord, ie something their lawyers said? (For other cords work fine, lol.) Should I just do it on the stove or do I dare?
Using water is what pulls the salts and minerals out of the plant, also the long, slow cooking method breaks down the plant a lot more, again releasing those bitter salts. I would use a double boiler, or a mason jar in a pot of water, this way you avoid direct water contact. I would not let it go longer then 4 hours.
Hey liz! Is is possible to just add tincture at the end and skip the cannasugar/ cannasyrup process?
When using tincture, the goal is to find your master ratio for dosage prior to making the gummies. For instance if you know how much flower weight (and the approximate THC% of that flower) you extracted in a specific volume amount of grain alcohol then you can figure the total mg of THC within that volume of tincture. Once you've calculated these numbers then you can find how many mg THC are in 1 or 10 or 100 mL of your tincture. In order to determine the amount of tincture to use per batch of gummies you decide how many mg THC you want a single gummy to contain. For example, I use silicone molds with bears , works, dinos, unicorns, donuts, etc. I used a medicine syringe to fill each differing shape in the mold with water and then sucked every drop of water from each mold shape one at a time with the syringe and then pushed excess air out to get an accurate measurement of the max volume of each individual shape. The largest I had was 6 mL works all the way down to 1.25mL mini Dinos. This is all important because I decided I wanted the largest (Worm) to be 30mg so if I dose the gummy batch to be 30mg THC Per every 6mL of gummy mixture and I know how many mg THC every 1mL of tincture contains then I now can determine how many mL of tincture need to be added to the gummy mixture by making a "1 times" gummy batch, measuring it's total volume and dividing by 6 mL (or whatever your single gummy serving's volume measurement is). That tells you how many pieces of gummy 1 batch makes and then you apply that to your mg THC/mL of tincture times how many servings the batch makes.
Now for your question sometimes the volume of tincture added doesn't affect the outcome of the gummy setting up, but sometimes the amount of tincture required to reach your desired dosing ratio is more than the gummy mixture can hold. You can do 2 things (that I know of and have used) in order to fix the tincture volume.
1. Measure out the amount of tincture you'll need prior to making the gummy mixture and SAFELY evaporate the tincture until a lesser, useable volume of tincture is left but still contains the same amount of THC.
2. Add the tincture to the hot gelatin mixture (AFTER the gummy has boiled, been removed from heat, and has dropped in temperature) and a significant amount of the tincture liquid will evaporate. If you add the tincture to the gummy mixture before it comes to boil or too soon after, the THC, terps, and other compounds of the extraction can cook, burn off, or degrade significantly.
I know that was long winded, but hopefully it explains why & when to add tincture to a gummy recipe (I couldn't find any recipes using tincture that were worth a damn so I developed a (so far) shelf stable, 90%Gelatin/10% Pectin Sour HARIBO Clone Recipe using Flavored Jello, Unflavored jello and koolaid amongst other things. I'll say that the key to getting the chew and texture is all in the cure...slow, controlled moisture evaporation does wonders.

If you use silicon molds, (it looks like yours are) then you don’t need the spray for those. If you use the spray your getting (eating) all that propellant. If you have migraines propellant or make you feel horrible. Plus like I said you don’t need it. I’ve been doing gummy’s for several years now with silicon molds I got half price before Easter a couple years ago. So they’re ducks, chickens and hearts. The price was right.💚
Is the thc dosage formula the same in making candies the same as baking? Example 1 cup oil infused has 100mg thc and you made 25 cookies, which would equal 4 mg thc per cookie.

Would gelatin sheets be better than unflavored gelatin when making the other gummy recipes?
If you like a softer gummy, yes. I use 4 gelatin sheets and add 11/2 tbls of unflavored gelatin. I just ordered the Platinum gel sheets and I'll see if they have enough gel strength so I don't have to use the unflavored gelatin.

I would say you could use tincture, add to a spray bottle, spray your snakes. Put them on a parchment lined cookie sheet then pop them into a 175°F pre heated oven to evaporate the alcohol.

If I decarb a gram of shatter, what's the least amount of butter or oil i can infuse it in? And would that work? Roughly 750mg thc in the gram of shatter. Could i infuse that much into a half stick butter or a few tablespoons of oil? And is there any way you could explain this method to me or even make a video please?
I use 5 grams of wax in a pound of butter you can do 1 gram in a half a stick...melt the butter in a sauce pan on low heat, take your decarbed wax make sure its warm and liquidy and pour it in the butter or oil and mix well then pour it into a glass pyrex and chill in fridge you'll want to keep stirring it as it solidifies to keep it distributed nice and evenly. You can also make a tincture with wax which is much more versatile than butter. Simply decarb wax add 15ml-1oz of everclear then stir you can make thc sugar / flour, drip under tongue

Help. I've been trying to make gummies. I am using an infused Coconut oil. I use lecethin but the coconut oil always seems to end up in a layer on the top. I used a hand blender to mix it and on my 2nd try I thought I got it mixed well. Not the case. Do I just remelt and use more lecethin?
lcdsound I’ve never had good luck with canna oil in gummies. I use distillate, alcohol tincture, or decarbed concentrates.
I use guar gum and never have an issue with butter or oil separating, plus it does not effect the taste like lecithin.
Diamond Delight Edibles do you add the guar gum after the infusion?

I would not use straight tincture, the taste would be horrible.

why are u using 2 different types of gelatine at the same step? Could u have used only the powder gelatine and skip- heating the soda and add the sheets
heating soda is to reduce it to concentrate the flavor. The sheets is just an option to make the candies a bit softer instead of so rubbery.
