Fantastic review. I rode the ST and there was ZERO wind on my chest.. But, I’m 5’11” and the wind nearly ripped my head off. I wish I knew of a taller windshield that would work for us taller folk because they hit a home run with this bike. Also bars and forward controls for me lol

Harley does sell one but nothing write home about. Clear view shields is coming out with both vented and non vented in different heights. The klock works looks nice but does not for wind buffering. I’m 5-7 and the wind is killer with the stock height shield !!!!!!!
I’m running an RT fairing on my 2020 Lowrider S. To be honest when I installed it I was very surprised on how light both the fairing and bracket actually are. I could easily pick up the shell with the lowers with one hand. As far as handling I really don’t notice the weight at all. I do feel like I notice a bit more drag compared to my road warrior fairing, but its so slight it could be in my head.
I really notice it when I hop on one of my other bikes that doesn’t have it, but it’s not enough to change things significantly
Nice comparison. Summer heat is a factor which I didn’t previously consider. In a perfect world, harley would sell fairing kits but they definitely want you to buy the bike which is totally understandable. Considering the high volume of sales for the low rider st and the icon literally selling out in minutes, what’s you opinion on the likelihood of a low rider st cvo next model year? 2017 was the last time they did a cvo softail and I feel like this bike is screaming for the cvo treatement. They could do some rad paint, different wheels, throw on The Sportster s gauge, and do that scorched chrome engine casing and exhaust treatment. Could be wicked.
I believe you can get the st fairing after market.
@@davidmiddleton9191 you can get a fxrt fairing but the harley st fairing is sold oem only. It’s possible to piece part the fairing and with some modification, put it on a 2020 low rider s, but there is no bolt on for other models. Based on my research, the dominator industries fxrt seems to be the highest quality after market solution.

@@markjones3888 well, the el Diablo is a limited run icon. So, you can’t buy one even if you wanted. The Cvo, would come with the empire collection, custom paint , audio, custom seat, led lighting front and rear , adaptive daymaker headlight, scorched chrome pipes, etc. look at the this years road glide blue steel cvo and picture a similar treatment on a low rider st…. I think it would be pretty rad
Youre not kidding about roasting on hot days. Put the rt on my dyna a couple weeks ago. Its brutal in traffic and at a stop. The wind deflection is worth it tho.
Agreed - The ST fairing I feel like is a pretty good in between, definitely happier with it on the hot days
Well the ST fairing is more expensive aftermarket because it's Vin locked. Can't put it on anything else, so you have to to third party just like the FXRT fairing. And you'll have to get it painted and it'll be just as much of a pain to install. Because of its design, they're more expensive to manufacture.
True - I think it's more coming from the assumption that someone would be buying and ST, not looking for an aftermarket fairing
Advanblack now offers an ST fairing for quite a few of the softails and now the Road King.

Advanblack sells the ST fairing paint matched ready for install for less than $1800. The cheapest Amazon fxrp fairing I found was like $900 but you have to pay for paint which is probably another $500 easy and install isn't as straight forward because it's not a specific direct fit but a more generic shape. If you want a better quality fit and finish fxrp fairing you'll be paying way more. If you want Amazon crap you'll likely get what you pay for.
@@Starlesslemon $1,100 paint matched fairing with mounting hardware included is too expensive? Have you seen what it costs to put a Wedge Fairing or any FXRT fairing on a softail? Advanblack is the cheapest solution.
One of the main reasons I went back to a bagger was my struggle with turbulence...I was so close to getting a FXRP fairing for the Dyna (like my buddy Mike just did for his FXDP) but I knew the Batwing works effectively for me but I'll admit candidly that the ST fairing looks amazing.

the actual weight difference is about 5 pounds. I put a jd custom’s fxrt fairing on my 2020 FXLRS. Very easy install!

There's just something off on the ST fairing. I think styling wise they missed the mark, just my opinion.

ST fairing... I want to open my mind to like it but I am still trying hard. FXRT fairing rocks though...
