I - born and bred German now living across the ditch - came to Sydney in 1997, stayed in a hotel at King's Cross and went to the hotel bar. Music box played "(He'll never be an) Old Man River" and I immediately shot out of the hotel, into the next record store and asked the guy about that song with River Phoenix. He knew exactly what I meant LOL!
Useless Trivia - Eugene De La Hot Cross Bun is the uncle of Nic & Chris Cester of Jet. At least 2 of them are seen unmasked in "Thunderbirds Are Coming Out" and the people in the masks at the end aren't necessarily TISM (the short one with breasts especially). Several of the indie bands and people in the clip went on to have decent careers. Fun reaction mate. Personally I love Whatareya? both the film clip and the anarchy that was the performance on Recovery.
If you are introducing this to the rest of the world you should have talked about who the TAC are and included their clip (or at least a link to it) that inspired this song - the first of their hugely successful "realistic" accident videos when Darren (they changed the name to Greg to fit the song better) runs the stop sign. This song was social commentary on our attitudes to road safety and the ads that were being aired
Oh check out Sershen & Zaritskaya/ NoApology's cover of Back in Black sometime - it's fun - Eastern European metal covers are always fun and they have Dmitri Kim who used to be in Jinjer on Drums. Daria Zaritskaya also did a live cover of Metallica' with Scream Inc of Metallica's Moth Into Flame thats all sorts of fun.

Didn’t know this but that makes a lot of sense. Thanks mate. I’ll try and do Whatareya? in a future video!!
@@mykindofweird No worries
The best thing about this video is that there aren't any actual members of TISM in it!
I got to see them at BDO '98. Awesomely weird. Never looked at cricket whites the same way again
Thems were the days
I remember thinking Greg was the stop sign, but I was really high for a few years back then.
😂

You should watch the DC3 too.
Because he was totally the guy in TISM.
I mean he sounds like him.
