Thanks, took my Xterra to so many different mechanics, and none of them could figure out why the misfire code kept coming up. Finally took it to a tire shop and the in-house mechanic nailed it on the head- faulty injector #6. It's obvious that you have a lot of experience and knowledge about Xterra car maintenance!! Thanks for the vid

I’m having an issue like that with my 04 Xterra, replaced 3 accesible ones with some from Rockauto and is shaking, heavy gas smell, acceleration problem so I read that if you have black dot injectors you have to get matching black dots on all unless you switch them all and same with the blue ones, sounds like my car has blue so I now will jump into taking all the injectors and the rail and replace them with all new black dots injectors and see what happens. Excellent video very helpful!

I've been using Rockauto for years but found out the hard way that it's best to use them only for mechanical (i.e. brakes, rotors, hoses, etc.) but when it come to anything electrical/ sensors, what not, stay away from them. It's a roll of the dice if you use them for that. You more than likely received defective parts from them. They are notorious for sending those, trust me from personal experience.

If you stick a slotted screwdriver through the c clamp over the tab, you can flip the tab so it holds itself open. It'll be fragile like a mouse trap though, so be careful not to clip your finger

there's a small rubber bushing that goes between the injector and injector cap. it should only be able to go on 1 way. very easy for it to not seat correctly.

What problem are you having? I think I have bad fuel injectors I'm not sure my truck is has rough idle and whenever I get in the gas it jerks the truck around a little bit I changed it to spark plugs a couple weeks ago thinking that might be it I wish I would have done the fuel injectors while I was at it I just didn't have the money at the time and I thought that spark plugs would have fixed it but I'm going to try spark plug wires first and then after that I think I'm going to do fuel injectors I'm probably just going to go ahead and get both and knock them both out what's your thoughts?

i am answering my own question..you can not. the angle of the injector will not let you get a good screwdriver on the end of this. Also, use a impact screw driver. the ones that you hit with a hammer to take off those pesky Phillips head screws. make sure to soak them with PB blaster a few hours before.. i got them out easily with out stripping out the heads at all. tap the screw driver into the Phillips screw a few times, and it impact actually spins, and does the work for you. on the Ellen head screws i put my 6 point head on the ellen bolt and tap it hard a few times to loosen the rust or corrosion and turn slowly with a large ratchet or breaker bar.
