I'm not sure who would actually buy these things. I get it, it lacks some features/accessories of the Pro, but the slight price difference is worth what's missing. The charging case is sooooo handy and those excellent lav mics. Even if you already own a bunch of lav mics, it's still worth the extra money to get THESE lav mics that come with the Pro set. Anyone thinking about getting the 3, spend the extra money for the Pro FOR SURE!
Not a fan of those lav mics personally. The clips break so easily causing the mics to just flop around and they aren’t compatible with traditional clips
@@jastorfilms301 Yeah, I immediately thought that when I bought the Rode Wireless Pros, that the lav mics are oddly different. Thankfully I haven't lost a clip yet, though I've come close before. I'm not a fan of the design of the mics, BUT I'm a huge fan of the quality of them though. I have lav mics that came with a set of those $1000 Sony UWP wireless lav sets and the Rode mics just sound better.
I just got finished commenting myself on how poor of a business decision Røde made here. I hate that Røde put 100% of the Pro’s looks/functions in the GO for $60 less, basically devaluing the Pro.
My gripe for any 32bit recorder is all should start /stop when shutter or camera rec button is pushed so you dont get hrs of audio that will not be used.Pain in the nas.great vid. Thank you
Very interesting move on Rode's part, but it seems logical. The Pro and the Go were targeted for almost the same group (prosumer), however, with the bundled accesories of the Pro the price was a bit beyond limits for many and bought mainly by those shooting professionally. So Rode decided to lower the price by not adding the accessories and removing timecode. By the way timecode. I believe it was implemented in the Pro as an afterthought, but never implemented fully (it is output only). So I guess there will soon be an even more expensive Pro2 with TC in and out, maybe swappable battery, more control on the receiver, probably SD card storage, and who knows what other features they may come up with. Let's start saving up. :)
Targeted at influencers who want simplicity and aren't going to use the lavs. They seem to be fighting an up hill battle with DJI and the whole space has become saturated with every possible wireless mic solution you can think of. Timecode in general is a difficult tech to take advantage of and doesn't solve drift. Mostly used for movie sets where I don't imagine them using consumer type device. It's too big and heavy when clipping on the transmitter. I do like the sound quality over DJI but DJI is smaller and more convenient integrating with their cameras. I'm curious how this segment will shake out.

I already have a pro version kit and having the mics and the case it make sense. The new ones are good if you don't need the case or the mics. Still don't know why they released this new version. They basically identical.
$62 dollars is not much of a savings, all you need to do is apply a delayed gratitude approach. Work some more hours to have that extra $62 or save from other expenses then buy it.
Thats a nice marketing strategy, create a new one but its the same, just the name change with little price reduction but important accesories removed but the main purpose is to increase the sale of the wireless pro. If go 3 is $200 cheaper, go 3 for sure will be valuable specially for those who just need a quality mic.
There are two new features that wireless pro misses - monitoring and using the base as a third microphone if you plug in a microphone. As far as I got it from their promo

I have no idea why this product exists 🤭 I always assumed that the pro was the the Go 3 😁 Now this Go 3 comes out with zero new features and missing nearly £300 of stuff included with the Pro for almost the same price as the Pro. I really don't understand why this is a thing 🤪
Maybe you're paying for the colors. In my opinion, getting the PROs over the Gen3 is a no-brainer. Not sure what exactly RODE was thinking with this release

@@MK-Creator Blundered, that's what they did. The lavalieres themselves are worth more than the price gap.

They are starting to have canon prices/options (which is not a good thing).....pretty sure DJI is overtaking them.
DJi isn't as good though. Based on what the majority says when comparing them
I agree. Currently I have all the last rode and DJI and rode is the winner for me for now.

If you use a headset you do get a 3rd microphone with Pro. Check my beginners guide for the Pro :)
