Thank you for your very informative video. I will be working on 70 year-old stainless steel railcar. The sheet you were working on appears to be new. Would the same methods and materials apply?
Hello. Question from an artist trying to do something similar. What's the thinnest cut of stainless steel foil do you think it would be possible to shine to a mirror finish? I need something flexible, so I fear I will SOL because I would need something thick enough to survive a sanding, but that would make it too think to flex as needed.
Great video. I am trying to polish mild steel. I'll have to get the sanding set up you used. I also recently got some high grade microfiber towels which do not leaves any scratches and clean off the polishing film well.
I have a large stainless steel dining room table that is 25yrs old I'd like to know if I must go through all the sanding you did in this video. Also, I once saw that someone created a design with a sanding tool and it looked wonderful What could make a lot of etched circles on the table?
loved the video. I have a problem of not getting the finish shiny enough. i get it reflective, but not mirror finish. When i use wd40, especially, if leaves a dark residue that I have to clean off. Also, I seem to get a lot of buildup on the sanding pads (all grits) Any advice?
You’re burning your Trizzac desk in which will leave a glaze over it. Replace your desk more often you’ll need to go back to 1200 grit to get rid of it properly.
Any brand, the lower the grit the more rough the sandpaper is so it will eat away more material, as the number gets higher it gets smoother and the scratches get smaller and smaller making a mirror finish
Yeah the last frame is the only one where you can see the sun and the spider lines that are still present. I would call this a bright polish, not a mirror polish.
Until you get rid of the marks from the previous grit. I am NOT an expert but I did this with a belt sander on acrylic/perspex the other year. Sand in ONE direction until all you can see are marks in that direction, then change to finer grit, turn 90 degrees and ... Worked very well.
Wow that really just like a mirror! Very cool
I'm polishing a motorcycle frame using your video as a guide.
It's actually working really well. Thanks
It looks like you are sanding at an angle, not flat to surface? Thanks
The fenders on my gravel truck are sand blasted after 200k miles. I'm gonna give this a shot! Sanding is the way to go it looks like!
I’m trying to lean to polish just cause and these videos are so helpful thanks bro

Very nice video and job-from a distance. I would love to have seen a close up!
Is there a reason why you only use one side of the pad while sanding?

Could i use a random orbital sander for this job?

Same thing here... Got a very high reflective steel, but with a blurry effect on top... not sure what I am doing wrong...
If you go at it with a polishing compound/rag long enough, it will get shiny. Try it in a small spot and you will see.

Looks really nice. What is the drill speed and and pad size you are using.
Hello sir nice video 👍
Sir is it possible to polish tv antenna to mirror finish and use it as a telescope mirror?
Great job I learned alot
Does it matter what brand the grit sandpaper is ? Would duragold be good to use or do you recommend I use the brand you’re using ?

I've seen a couple of comments regarding CyberTruck, I'm wanting to do this to mine. What RPM's are you using during the sanding?
Will it creat a lot dust? I want to do it in my kitchen range hood...
Pena que no Brasil não temos produtos bons como esse para polir alumínio...
Hi can you give me the link to buy pad adaptor to drill .thanks
Begin…sanding😌
I came here to learn how to polish my cybertruck! :)
Very cool! Good luck
Mirror finish hut you can clearly still see the sanding lines

sorry - but did you start with a 2B sheet?
Yep I did, it was :. 06" Stainless Sheet 304-Annealed 2B
What the heck is alumicut? Can I just use polishing compound they use for cars?
Alumicut is just the lubricant I use for my sandpaper. I imagine the polishing compound your referencing should work fine.
How long do you sand for each grit of paper?

Spring Ford thank you! That sounds like a perfect technique, as it removes all doubts about whether or not one has sanded enough.

Your videos are very helpful for my small detailing projects! So happy to see you post again !
What kind of SS is it??
Doubt it matters for polishing bit.
Oh it does @springford9511
Hi, what products do you use?
And today someone applied it into cybertruck, OMG!
That's really interesting, thanks for sharing
