my favorite moment in the series isn't even on camera, but in the DVD commentary. It's the scene on top of the tower where Lee's Saruman gets stabbed in the back by Grima Wormtongue, for which the director, Peter Jackson, wanted Lee to let out a scream.
The actor felt obliged to explain to Sir Peter why that would be all wrong. He proposed to let out a small groan, a quiet gasp, as the air is pushed out of his punctured lungs. The director was resistant, so Lee said: "Peter, have you ever heard the sound a man makes when he's stabbed in the back?"

Vincent, your voice as young Charlemagne served as an excellent counterpoint to Sir Christopher Lee's, and carried with it tremendous weight of emotion and tension, perfectly fitting for the song! The delivery really helped sell the lines. I've had By the Sword and the Cross on repeat for a good long time after discovering it, what a spectacular experience it is!
It, and Sir Christopher Lee's other musical works, have given me a newfound interest in singing and theater, as a matter of fact.

Well, I gotta comment on this one. Found out this existed on spotify a month ago. I seriously thought it was a band just using the name as a tribute, but when I heard his voice... WHAT?!?! I had to ask my metal and goth friends is this legit. This guy already did so much in his life and then decided "I need to make a metal album." 1,000,000% badass. RIP to a legend. Sir Christopher Lee truly is all that and more. Now to listen to his Christmas music in December when putting up the tree.
