I would really enjoy the controller settings video, I have issues at the moment getting the meter to use and amplify moves because of how its set to block again, after adapting to mk11
I remember one of my first games with smoke, I did an unsafe and got punished, panicked and started mashing, lost the round. Then I calmed myself and won the second one with over then 70% of hp. Button mashing is very dumb unless you play baraka
Being new to the fighting game genre, i found it a difficult transition. I been trying to learn how to block and punish accordingly still very difficult
One of the best things about kameos for beginners, guys just pick sektor and spam his rocket every time you remember you have a kameo. It's recovery is slow, so you won't have to worry about using it constantly. It blocks air, punishes random movement etc. Sector is the best kameo to not feel like you have a kameo, you just "deploy" him once every 10 seconds and forget about it. That's how I did with my smoke to try and fully replace my Frost's slide habit with vapour cancels, I needed to remove the kameo distraction.
I consider myself a regular player, I use the uppercot with most characters because apart from being a good anti-air, you can confirm combos with them. with scorpion his uppercot takes almost half a screen (if the opponent is already almost on the other side scorpion will still hit him) which leaves the character free to confirm 21bf1 and so on with most characters :)
I wish UA-cam was my full time job to be able to make that possible. But because I have a very physical demanding job in construction that is 9-5 (Sometimes later) Mon to Sat. It difficult to make guides so quick. I will try my best but its no guarantee. I was was close to finish MK11 videos for each character but 7 were left. Its hard to say right now because my schedule gets chaotic at times.
@MadDoggGames thanks bro, I’ve been on here searching for a main forever as I really want to learn this game but, not knowing anything about play styles or how to get started I have been stuck since release so, this should really help
Maybe you can do a video about controllers sometime? I love the Ps5 but I hate the controller when playing MK... The D-pad sucks because it's not always responding correctly. This is because the D-pad is actually only one button instead of 4 seperate buttons. And I also hate the big touch pad in the middle of the controller... When playing I often accidently hit the touch button which pops up a screen and ruins your game.
It’s really not that bad. People complain so much but MK doesn’t use diagonal inputs. So you getting misinputs is a skill issue that can only be overcome by practicing more
@@RON_FBG I have 2 controllers they both have the same issue. And my friend's controllers have also this issue. In fact, it is a known issue for the PS5 controllers. Watch this vid and you see what I mean: ua-cam.com/video/1v_wHUnXQbI/v-deo.html
Johnny Cage or any other character with Khameleon "Hello ladys and gentlemen today we gonna mix things up a little bit" Throwing an ansafe move ? bamm kitana lift you need a little bit of samira ... sorry l mean Jade for some funny projectile wombo combo you got it or you just want to throw out some sneaky milena roll which is hard reactable ? you got it baby the perfect three in the one combo xd but jokes aside cheers for nrs to made Khameleon a lil bit weaker so it is not as much struggle as was before senario: Johnny C doing a forward 2+1 move which is the correct anser which gets block by the opponent A: he gonna finish it with his nice overhead (4) B:he gonna fly away with kitana fangs C:he going for that juicy grab D:end it with a safe 3 attack 🤪🤪
Thanks for the guide! One question... If one doesn't spend time to learn almost all the characters, how can you know how to deal with their moves, i.e. which move is overhead or low, which is unsafe and punishable, what is the pushback on block for each move/ string and what are their options at each range? Any tip how to face characters you don't know anything about prior? This is especially a problem when you are starting out playing a particular fighting game (e.g. when it releases)? The issue with me is that when I try to isolate and focus on learning a single character to learn the fundamentals, the randomness one faces in a match forces me to do random stuff instead of keeping myself focused on the fundamentals. I get opened up (because of not knowing what move is Low/ Overhead or get grabbed eventually) and my brain goes monkey and then I try to use any move (be it unsafe or out of range) to just keep up with the pace. How can I get rid of this habit? Another problem is that I become impatient and stressed out, and can't focus on reading my opponent in real time during the match. Maybe I read 20% of his reactions to certain situations (like what he does on wakeup, what he does at fullscreen, etc.), but is there any tip on how to effectively make mental notes during a match to better make a judgement about the enemy in real time? I know it is a long list of issues I am facing, but I'd be glad if you could give me a learning strategy to overcome these issues? Also, please make a full-length video on Concept Strategy and the missing terms (like Mental Stack, Patience and Mind Games)! Thanks!!!
Hey welcome back! I havent seen you for a while! Unfortunately, in order to gain knowledge or awareness for knowing what to watch out for, for each character there isnt a fastest way. I lose to characters right now who I never fought before and its because I dont know what to look for. But I will cover this in my how to block in MK1. Its best to experience it by towers, or online. You might not win for that round or match but the next time you do know what to watch out for. Right now I am playing online and winning where I can. But once I see a character like Tanya who I never seen once. I know I might loose. At least pick something up that you learn on that match. And that knowledge stacks from there. Or you can keep playing offline in towers and eventually you will get the knowledge there as well. Its difficult to not be impatient. But there is always something that you can learn from that match. Sometimes I let the opponent destroy me that round so that the next round, i try my theories on him. Eventually you will get closer and closer to a win. You just gave me an idea, I can make a video on punishable moves for string or special moves or mix ups to watch out for. Its true when someone is knew, we dont know what to look for.
@@MadDoggGames Thanks a lot for taking the time to understand my issue and giving me some extremely useful tips. I will go into the next match with these in mind and try these out for sure. I have left content creation due to a busy life schedule and the free time I get, I use it to play games instead of making guides now. But, thanks a lot for your support in making my channel known to more people. I will forever be indebted to you for that. Keep up your videos and awesome tutorials.
I would add that playing towers on Hard or higher will help you grind up you character knowledge. If you run into a particular string that is making you crazy go to training mode and have the dummy spam it until you figure out how to block/counter it.
We are all in the same boat. The game is new. This is a great thing. This is what is fun. Seeing something you aren't used to and getting to lab it and the matchup is so much fun. Just keep playing. A tip I got for you when you see something you arent familiar with: practice your fundamentals during that particular match and after go to training and just figure out a counter to one thing you were struggling with. Keep doing this and over time you will get used to it and as you do all the while your fundamentals will get stronger and hey, you might even pull off a surprising win against those people and still get to learn something new.
Brand new to MK/fighting games and this is not easy. I'm not used to being bad at a game because I've been playing all my life but shooters etc do not translate to this at all.
Welcome! Just keep at it and keep grinding. Practice and more practice. Play online, play against the computer and friends. Don’t limit yourself to just the computer
I have recently reached grand-master rank on ranked mode. I always find it impossible to beat good Raiden and Baraka players. They have too many safe moves and chip damage potential. It's kind of boring to fight them every time on ranked mode! T_T
You must keep on the offensive and zone when possible. If you're under too much pressure, you must wait for a space to use an armored special move and then continue with your offense.
The other difficulty is that you're basically responsible for the dev's fck ups. Absolutely love Mortal Kombat and have played since the first game in the 90s, but as things have advanced, you're not playing with these basic Mario-style concepts where you understand the physics and then everything works. MK has gotten to a point where they can't maintain a balance and the graphics/animations don't match the mechanics. One of the best examples is Rain having a forward low kick, he literally turns his staff to his foot and kicks water and it is a "High" attack. How are you supposed to actually play the game if you don't study and memorize in training mode? Yes, the highest level players should have to do that, but others should be able to play without and instead rely on intuition and reaction. If it was a good game, you could understand the background mechanics as a concept and then be able to apply them on the fly.
Yeah sometimes you see a move that clearly looks like an over head and it isn't. Another example is Millena's 122. The second hit is overhead but it looks like a high attack.
I uploaded 2 days ago. How do you think I upload every 7 days. If you pay attention to my twitter, and Community Tab, I do have a video for tomorrow ready. I do have a life outside from UA-cam, an actual career.

Amplify being the block button again is the best thing to come back
Thanks, @MadDoggGames I will most definitely be using these to learn the game after I use your guide to find a main character
I would really enjoy the controller settings video, I have issues at the moment getting the meter to use and amplify moves because of how its set to block again, after adapting to mk11
it’s not hard bro, just go to training mode and take 5 minutes to build up your muscle memory. it’s just one singular button
You just gotta learn to press at the same time as the special rather than afterwards the button itself doesn’t really matter
I changed my block / amp to r1 like it was on mk11 cuz pressing r2 takes longer than u think and it was fucking my conbos up a lot
I find your videos really helpful, thanks man
Glad you like them!

hey there I love your guides personally it's fits me best. I wonder how long will it take you to upload guides for all fighters in the game?

Excellent video!
thank you for watching!
Getting better at block especially flawless blocking
Just gotta be careful about being punished for up blocking
I love this!!
I appreciate the support! ❤
how to improve at blocking im horrible at blocking mixups
Good stuff.. def blocking and best whiff punishing.
Which frame data means that I'm save on block? With mileena I don't see my advantage
I'm more often than not drifted to the tekken games I find games like mk really difficult, but I don't know why

It's not a skill issue... I can jump or duck without ever touching those buttons on the D-pad. It's the controller that sucks.

Do push buttons separately or do u slide ur fingers across the buttons....
U never really want to slide ur finger across. unless its with your thumbs you can use the button joint.
@@MadDoggGames right I meant the thumb.. if ur holding a Xbox or PS5 controller.. I'm speaking of the 1234 buttons
Johnny Cage or any other character with Khameleon "Hello ladys and gentlemen today we gonna mix things up a little bit"

but jokes aside cheers for nrs to made Khameleon a lil bit weaker so it is not as much struggle as was before
senario:
Johnny C doing a forward 2+1 move which is the correct anser which gets block by the opponent
A: he gonna finish it with his nice overhead (4) B:he gonna fly away with kitana fangs C:he going for that juicy grab D:end it with a safe 3 attack 🤪🤪
