  • I go to West bank, in Aswan.
First, I discover some wonderful tombs of some high hierarchy people from more than 4000 years ago. Then, I give some of my final impressions after the three months I spent in Egypt.
First I talk about the fact that the after life is still very important to Egyptian people, then I tell you a story that could be the story of the birth of God, then I talk to you about some cultural differences between Egypt and the country where I come from.
I continue my talk with some ideas about how you end up being subversive while traveling, and how traveling can make you free, and I finish by talking about the huge problem of harassment, and especially sexual harassment, when you travel in Egypt.

My great grandparents came from Greece and Italy, and settled in Alexandria until the early 60’s. The population was very diverse at that time. Many Europeans settled there , it was a multicultural society at that time, and women were more free to dress how they liked and not feel harassed. French and English were taught in schools. It was normal for people to speak many languages. It’s funny how things could change in such short periods of time.

I came across your cannel few days ago and now I'm trying to watch all of your videos. It's a very interesting journey. I'm Bulgarian and travel a lot as well. Currently living very close to Morocco in south of Spain where i have a property. Got inspired with these videos(of Egypt)to visit Middle Eastern restaurants here. I've been in Egypt many times for long periods and never had any problem with the local mans. I used to wear their traditional clothes to cover myself and as i get very fast tanned, have brown eyes everything was fine. They could get any clue i am not local just from my friends, hairstyle or face 😁Have a safe trip and all the best🫶🏼

@@kareemhamed4208 this is one of the comment on the video by an Egyptian, if you are as respectful and intelligent person as I thought, you would understand. Otherwise you are one of them
First of All, sorry about what happened to you in Egypt.
Second of all, yes religion is everywhere not just in Egypt but in the whole Arab world. i am sure my comment will be disliked by many of my fellow Egyptians and arabs, but i am going to write the truth and you can confirm this information on your own.
what happened to you is all based on the islamic religion. I've seen many of your Egyptian series and found out for example that you paid like 100x the prices of everything you've bought. For instance, the statues you've bought in Aswan or the food you've eaten.
to put it in perspective, islam has a law called " the non muslim tax or in Arabic called Jiziah" which forces non muslims to pay extra money to live. non muslims used to have 3 choices either 1) convert to islam. 2) pay the non muslim tax. 3) get killed. And since you're not a muslim and they can't force those rule FOR NOW on you, they find a justification to charge you more for everything you're trying to buy. They see it as a victory to get more money from you.
Also, islam treats women as 6th class citizens thats why there is an islamic law which gives a brother double the inheritance than his sister. In addition, men are allowed to marry as many women as they want but not the other way around.
Also, islam has a law called in arabic "Taqia" which translates to "allowing people to lie in order to achieve something bigger" so you will always experience a behavior change. For example, when they are a majority they will act differently (MORE AGGRESSIVELY ) than when they are the minority... this is just 0.001% of what islam actually teaches no comment would be able to fit what islam teaches.

Yes, harassment can happen in so many countries but when in the country happens much more than in other countries (like Egypt for example), tourists will remember that drawback and give a big black stane on that country! So, in the end, the real problem relies on Egypt, and its citizens, and the government to take drastic steps to eliminate these social problems instead of beating about the bushes and throwing the blame on something else!

Sorry for the harassment, religion is in decline in Egypt, in Islam it is prohibited to touch opposite sex.
For wearing shorts , it has a religious background, as women supposed to cover their head, men should cover their legs till the knees, you can wear a pantacourt and it will be fine.
And as for your sister she can wear non reveling clothes and she will be fine too, I know according to liberalism she is free, but it is an advice for her safety.
A liked your comments on past and present religious regarding afterlife although it is loaded with obvious atheist terms but no one can talk without a bias somehow.
BTW we didn't flip our culture like in France because we didn't like liberalism or athiesm as opposing to Islam, we as people have been under enormous pressure since napoleon till modern day to accept liberalism.

Honestly, I don't know if it's good or not.
Obviously, religion is dying in Europe, and this means that the European christian based civilization is dying.
If people living in Europe are strong enough to create a new society not based on a strong religion, like some Eastern Asian societies, then I think it could be good, and I would like to see what could emerge from the death of our civilization.
But if European people end up being weak and ignorant, and let themselves be colonized by some other religious groups trying to take advantage of the death of our civilization, then it is a disaster.

I am Egyptian and I agree with everything you said, but I want to add a very important point. Egyptians and all peoples who live in the illusions of religion cannot progress in any way except by putting religion in its natural place, as happened in secular countries. There is a simple example that proves that religion has always been an obstacle to the development and development of societies. Orientation towards development. We in Egypt suffer from the problem of continuous population growth, and this uncontrolled population growth makes all steps of economic development useless, and the Egyptians will never be convinced of the need to do so. Birth control procedures, because religion tells them that you should have the largest number of children, and that God sends sustenance to the child when he is born, even if the child lives in a poor village and his parents do not have any resources to support him, when the Egyptian government tries to talk about overpopulation and that We must reduce births. Islamic institutions reject this government approach, and most people declare takfir and describe the government as a government that wants to fight God's religion.

Other vloggers usually refrain from addressing this issue to appear kind, but that's actually called bigotry of low expectations.
Secularists here in Egypt are trying to fight to change this unfortunate reality and are met with very heavy backlash, but we won't give up (even though most probably nothing will change in our lifetime😂) but it certainly helps when foreigners like you don't reinforce the existing confirmative biases of the locals and say "it's just a different culture and all of us are the same"

Hello Kino! I hope you enjoyed the sites! And I am greatly sorry and ashamed of what happened to you and your sister in terms of harassment, it is sad to see how much we degraded but I don't want you to think that our current state is because of religion, Islam made us great, especially Islamic states like the Ayyubid and Mamluk states, Cairo was one of the richest cities and an important center of science and culture, but moving on to modern times we weren't the best but we were alright until Mubarak came and he basically did nothing to counter the exploding population and so problems like corruption and poverty and lack of education came, and then there was 2011-2013 which was absolute and utter chaos and it is imo the start of spreading of harassment, and the way the people are acting isn't because of religion but out of the problems I mentioned, I know this may have not given you a good image but if you go to countries like Saudi, Jordan, Qatar, UAE, where they don't have those problems you will change your mind
Sorry for the long comment but I hope it has given you some insight, all nations go through periods of strength and weakness and we are going through the weakness period, but I hope there will be a day where you return and it is much better and safer and you can enjoy the visit better

My sister wore long black clothes in Rome to keep the men away from her so she could eat her ice cream in peace. Recently I was in Paris and had no trouble at all, but I'm no longer 16... Thankfully I had a paper map, so I shut my phone off and only used it when I really needed it, and only for short times. At one point I opened it and a password to a local wifi network was typing itself!! Very scary, frustrating, infuriating. I'll have to find a solution before I travel again.

In the Quran .it clearly states the prophet Moses journey with the Israelite and them being saved from pharaohs ( Moses peace be upon him ) was born in Egypt the Israelite were being oppressed After Moses grows old enough he receives revelation that he is a chosen messenger from God and he should relay the message. That is not the start of monethesm it’s the start of thorah (book of Moses ) ever since the creation of Adam people believed in One God . Then polytheism was introduced to the world .Allah, Most High, says, (interpretation of meaning) "And mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed." (Quran 10:19)
Ibn Katheer said, “In this ayah, Allah, Exalted be He, informs us that shirk (polytheism)was new to humankind. It was not in the original religion of humanity, and that people were believers and adhered to one religion, namely, Islam.” The first act of shirk committed by human beings dated back to the people of Prophet Nooh (Noah).
