    I'm so glad that I ran across this video.
    I have a question, I'm looking for something similar to this or maybe this exact unit for my 10 by 20 Shed I live in Michigan and we get pretty cold winters. Do you think this unit by itself would be sufficient enough h to really heat up a 200 ft² area or would you recommend a higher btu.

    • @OrangeWiresGarage
      @OrangeWiresGarage  2 роки тому +1

      It gets pretty cold in Michigan, like really cold. The unit that we have does not have heat strips so it is only a heat pump and those only work down to about 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Not sure if this is the solution you need for heat, but definitely for A/C at 200 square ft. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

    $ years ago, I bought a Comfortotal 18,000 BUT, and a month later another brand 9,000 BTU.
    The Comfortotal is running like new, the other one is being replaced next week, when it gets here.
    The other brand has a messed up circuit board, and since the seller was not registered with the manufacturer, the will not warrent repairs.
    The board costs just over half what I paid for the unit.
    After replacing my old central AC, my electric bill went down by about 43%.

    For anyone who has the older units that displays only in celsius. You can order a new remote from the company in Texas and the new remote will display in Fahrenheit, but only on the remote and not the display on wall unit. It makes the conversion automatically between the remote and the wall unit. Again, It does not change the display on the wall unit. But at least you can look at the remote to see what conversion it is. It works perfectly. I ordered a replacement remote and found this out, all the other functions work the same as well on the remote. Hope this helps others.

    Great installation! thanks for taking the time to share it. Quick question, What type of ROmex wire are you using? 10/3, 10/2, 12/3 or 12/2? Also, did you add a 20A breaker or used the current one that has the outlet you used power from? I am installing the same unit Comfortotal 240V and would like to extent the outlet but I am not sure what Romex size wire to use. Also this outlet I will be using has a 40A breaker at the panel. Do I need to add an additional 15A breaker for this unit? A 20A breaker? or just use the 40A breaker that are already wired for this 240V outlest I will be using? Thank you !

      Your manual should list what size breaker each mini split requires. Also. Each unit should be on it's own, independent breaker alone. How many btu's is each unit? 6k, 9k, 12k, 18k etc. The more btu's = larger breaker. A 25 or 20 or 25 amp breaker is required to prevent breaker trip for 12k and up. Your manual should advise what the unit needs. Also. Is your unit 220 or 110/115 ? I'm guessing you're limited on electrical experience? Consider hiring a professional electrician. 👍

      If the unit is sized correctly based on the square footage and heat load calculations and also depending on your climate you can just put it in dry mode and set the temp you want. Doing this the fan will turn off when the temp is satisfied, however it will lower the fan speed and the humidity during its cycle. If the room temp continues to rise in dry mode the unit is under sized for the area. If the unit is sized correctly it should work fine and lower the humidity a little while turning the fan off between cycles. Hope this helps.

IE I HAD A SANYO POS SYSTEM WITH 1 OUTDOOR UNIT AND 3 INDOOR UNITS. UPON FAILING THE DIAGNOSIS WAS TO CHANGE "ALL" THE COMPUTERS IN BOTH THE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR UNITS MEANING THE COST TO BUY THE PARTS WAS MORE THAN THE SYSTEM ITSELF. F THEM.
