Hi! I just received my order of seeds from your store. I'm moving to SC after Christmas and want to get a jump on gardening. I am brand new to all of this. I am so excited but need lots of help. I've watched all of your tube videos. Would love some advice.
Follow what each type of seed needs regarding how long b4 or after last frost , it’s so important so you get good germination 😊 it’s a real learning curve ! Take each fail as a learning as what that plant likes , each type needs its own amount of water …sweet potato slips are so much easier than regular potatos as sweet potatos are very forgiving on possible over water where regular potatos will cause rotting as they prefer very little water. You will have a blast and I ask the Lord to bless your garden 😁
I found a ladle that has slits on the back side. Scoop & tilt. Love it for canning soup. Equalize the solids in the jar, then pour in the broth. I believe I got it at one of the Dollar stores. ❤
You are such a good teacher. I can but, I love to watch you can. Only because we can just alike. Even down to the safety of the jars in the oven. People say OH don't put your jars in the OVEN. Why not???? Dry heat...blah blah blah. I have NEVER had an issue doing that!! Also, you put your rings on the utensils. I do to. It's great until they get accidently hit. Lord have mercy they go everywhere. LOL But, it's still the best place for them. I'm going to have to try your seasoning combo!!!
Hi Mrs. H! It's good to see you again. When I can any kind of beans, I do it to finish out a pressure canner load when I can meat in pint jars because it takes the same amount of time. I have also canned water to make it sterile for wound irrigation.
I am new here today and this is what i have been looking for, soneone who grows food naturally from the earth and who jars and farms on the land, Gods earth. My parents were raised in Mississippi this way in the 40tys and 50tys. Way back in the segregation and Jim Crow days unfortunately, they suffered and picked Cotton in the fields etc. My grandparents were maids to the masses back then, horrible times. I plan on getting property of land within a year, i dont know where, God will guide me where and with the right people to show me how to begin living off the lands he created naturally. Its a process coming soon and my dream as well to retire from the city life, in my latter years, I pray Gods will too. I will follow you here out. Thank you for your educational videos here and may God bless you and your family in his will. 💜 I will check out your products on your website as well. Thank you!.😊
I went into the attic today, got my pressure canner out, and did these beans! I've been putting it off for months because I was afraid of the pressure canner, but everything went fine and I didn't blow myself up. 😌 I'm not sure why I was so terrified of this thing 😅
I was so excited to see this video! Need to can up all kinds of beans and I am finally out of my homemade ones. I do have some commercial canned beans, and am working on using those up, but nothing better than your own!
Hello to the cutest couple on You Tube! I just want to say your tips and advice are so helpful. Love from Grandma Linda in Martinsburg WV. 🌲💖🎄💫❤️💕🌹⭐😃🙏🙏🙏
I agree about the seasoning except for “sage” that stuff turns bitter when canned 😭. I know you’re not using sage today but I just thought I’d share a little info. I love all your canning videos ❤️
Thanks for making life a little easier. You are so down to earth . Your knowledge you are sharing with us will go on forever as we pass it down to our children and friends! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Peach and blessings to you and yours also. I have never heard of turtle beans. I live in Pittsburgh Pa. So maybe it is more of a southern thing?! I love your canning videos so very much!!
I have purchased a water bath canner and am going to mostly concentrate on preserves. I had tried the pineapple preserves and am still eating on it. It is the best and they do not seem to want to sell ii in the stores anymore...🥰
Going to can some of these up for entertainment😂 Thank you for spice measurements. Ive not canned black beans before. I've canned every other kind of bean though!
I'm still trying to work up the courage to pressure can and enjoy watching you hands on. I do know about garlic tho. If you smack them 1 good time, it releases more of the garlic flavor. Thanks for sharing!
Greetings. I'm going to try this recipe with some small red beans. Dang it I'm out of black beans. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm thinking it's still going to be slamming. Until next time. Love y'all.
Few ? If you please How many pounds of black beans did you start with and how many pints did you get. I’m not a rice lover. What are some other ways to use black beans? Thanks!
Hi Mrs H. Just wanted to know how many pounds of beans you started with to come up to 18 pints to can? I'd like to can a full canner loan when I do them.
OK, really sorry for the third post. I don't have an All American pressure canner. I have a Presto. I've only ever had a Presto. Mine holds 20 pints of regular mouth jars. I've heard that the All American is much heavier. At my age I don't know if I could lift an All American. Maybe some year I'll try to lift one at the store.
I really like how you explain your canning, Thank you. I’ve canned for at least 50 years, I have learned a lot from you. Do you have a cook/canning book for sale? Sandra K Carter
Hi, I’m new to canning and I’m learning a lot from you. I am in the process of investing in canning equipment. Can you tell me how long the canned beans will last as long as they are stored properly? What about your potatoes and strawberry preserves etc?
You can ONLY pressure can if you have a pressure canner. It is different from a pressure cooker. If you don’t have the right equipment your food will NOT be safe to eat. Hope that helps.
Did I see a chicken being butchered in the intro? 😯🤢 There are things in life I can go my whole life without seeing. Any animal being butchered is one of them. If that is what I saw in the intro I have one question. Why would you put that in the intro? Not everyone want to see that. Just because we eat chicken don't mean we need to see the process. If that wasn't what I saw, I'm scared to rewind and look again, let me know.
@@carolyns.1548I totally agree with you! People like that need to grow up! Also, the chicken wasn’t being butchered, that had already happened. It was being de-feathered.
After all these many years of being on this journey with this couple, I still thank GOD for the blessing of putting them in my life 🙏🏽. At 78 y/o , I have not encountered too many godly women but I know one when I meet one. I can assure all of you that Mrs. H is at the top of the list. I'm a child that was blessed to be raised by my parents and a village. I get excited over every one of their videos. She has the perfect helpmate in her husband. Each of them compliments the other one's skill set!! You cannot act out or play at the interaction they have between themselves. They are for real!! Meeting up with their channels, you don't need to look any further. You have the Absolute Best‼️ Her teaching skills are excellent, her knowledge is priceless, his skill set is beyond valuable and we are blessed beyond measure to be able to expand and copy a work ethic that can't be bought for any amount of money!! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. H. Let's keep growing our groceries, liking and sharing the videos and don't forget to hit the notification bell so you won't miss the next video, and continue to pray for this entire family, all of their animals, a continuous water supply, abundant egg and honey production. PEACE AND BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE. I HOPE THAT YOU HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A HEALTHY PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. GIVE GOD SOME PRAISE‼️🙏🏽💜
First thing I ever canned was chilli beans. You are a natural teacher. Love your channel.
I love watching you can! You explain things so well!❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸🇦🇷
I love our canned beans. They taste so much better than what you can buy, and the price is soo much cheaper. Have a very merry Christmas.

Peace and Blessings Sis. The beans look delicious. I will be trying this recipe.
You mentioned wanting a slotted ladle. I wonder if a spaghetti scoop would work
I was wondering the same thing
10 cups! Got it!
Thank you for sharing how you can. I’m a newbie at this and it’s great to learn from someone else 😊😊. Happy gardening 👨🏿🌾💚😊
Good evening, Mrs H. I'm so happy that I caught you on line.

Peace and Blessings Brother H. and grand babies.
You are such an inspiration to me. God bless you & your loved ones!
I just canned some plain back beans for the first time a couple days ago and wanted to try some flavored ones so I am excited to see this one!❤
You changed up canning for me. I started like the older generations did, salt . Now it is so delicious and spice ready to eat and quick. Thank you.
I can year round, you're right winter is a very good time to can your dry beans.
I do dry pack and don't soak. They come out amazing!
Amazing!! You inspired me. Thanks

Where can we find those stylish gloves you're using to protect your hands from the heat of the jars?
Hello, looks awesome
they look better than store bought, I can navy, northern and pintos but might try this because they look delicious

Thank you Mrs. H I did not know there was a difference between turtle and black bean, also that small red beans are not kidney beans. Thank you again
I'm still trying to work up the courage to pressure can and enjoy watching you hands on. I do know about garlic tho. If you smack them 1 good time, it releases more of the garlic flavor. Thanks for sharing!
👩🏽🌾👋🏽🪴I’m going to learn to can.
I love your explanation of everything
Those look like they would be great for refried beans or black beans with rice!

How many hrs are we to holding the jars ?
OK, really sorry for the third post. I don't have an All American pressure canner. I have a Presto. I've only ever had a Presto. Mine holds 20 pints of regular mouth jars. Thank you for this video! Do you need to de-bubble if you add water again after the first de-bubble?
Can you show us some of your Mexican recipes you use your beans please?
Hello
Can you please tell the name of gloves( gifted to you) you are using, Thanks in advance. Great information.
They are called Temptations. 🙂
Thank you@@HOMESTEADHEART
What is the model number of the All American canner that you are using in this video. I would love to stack quarts!
Be sure newbies know to put 3” of water in canner
I think I missed it and I can't tell from the video, is she using pints or quarts?
When u don't have a pot like that , how long a 1h or 2
You can ONLY pressure can if you have a pressure canner. It is different from a pressure cooker. If you don’t have the right equipment your food will NOT be safe to eat. Hope that helps.
May have missed it, but about how many pounds of dried beans to 4 quarts processed?
Can you dry can bean
Are your beans in the hot water I'm confused you said soak the beans
How much dry black beans did you use to yield 16 pints?
10 cups dry.
Can I make pinto beans just as you made the black beans?
My canned beans are mushy
