Great Video guys! I love Matt Molloys pub, the owner, Matt Molloy himself can regularly be found joining in the trad sessions there, he is a legendary Irish flute player and a massive influence on Irish music, he was a member of Planxty and the Chieftains and if you look carefully behind the bar you will see his grammy awards! I nominate Waterford for your next trip, definitely stay a couple of days, interesting place with lots of viking connections
And for trad music, you need to go in there in the evening time....any night of the week Matt Molloy's is busy.......Croagh Patrick has to be climbed too, to justify drinking a few pints...🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad that the fog and the wind didn't intervene in your plans. We had a different luck in Dublin forest way this weekend. Westport and Cong are really beautiful, thank you for showing it to us!
Great video as per always, well done! I've been to Westport only once and never to Cong but it has been recommended many times to me over the years. Beautiful drone shots too, really well done ❤
You missed a SPECTACULAR drive between Cong and Westport, next time drive west to Leenane, and then up through the mountains to Westport, you will never forget the drive!
I can’t believe it!! Of ALL the places in Ireland you could have picked, I’ve been there! We got a bus from Galway, and my Irish husband was in a combination of pissed off and depressed that I hated Galway. He had plans of convincing me to live there for retirement and they exploded because I, just me, can’t stand the wind and there is TOO MUCH young tail running around looking for friends. If you can’t get laid in Galway, you might as well move to Orlando where they would do a corpse! The bus tour was the best tourist thing I’ve ever done! Cliffs of Moher tour on Paddypower, free wifi, excellent bus, some Spaniards puked in the back. They didn’t get the memo that they need to throw up in Britain, not Ireland, if they want to get Anglos back! Don’t come to Ireland to puke! That’s Britain you’re thinking of! Anyway, the bus stopped in those cool towns and the places are amazing!! Still too windy for me but, right on!!
Matt Molloy’s is very touristy, lads and lasses, which might explain the lack of craic. Would recommend Moran’s (great Guinness!), the West (great seafood chowder!) and Danny’s (very cosy). Blouser’s just off the Octagon is nice as well.
I am goiing for about 7 years now to Ireland for our vacations. This summer were back for county Mayo, Sligo and Donegal for 10 days. Probable the last time , because we did every county. Before( before 2018) a car renting was about 500-600€ for a week max. Now it is min.1600€. This is since Corona 2019. And not for a big car like before! 😢 A lot of people that i know do not visit Ireiand anymore for this! Flightticket are about 50 € more expensive per piece. But that's ok. It's the car renting that is the problem!! Tourisme will suffer, but who cares. I have taken this problem to a lot of local tourisme services, but they don't care! ,
Indeed. Unfortunately a lot of businesses which were only kept alive by public subvention during Covid (I’m looking at you hoteliers, cough cough) have decided to squeeze the consumer now that the economy has returned to “normal”. It’s bone headed in the extreme in the tourism industry.
Thanks for the prices and information. It helps to weigh up the pros and cons of whether to pay an agency to organise the trains and buses to the things you want to see as a tourist, or whether to to do trains, buses and hire cars & organise your own accommodation and schedule. Wondering if you've ever been to a performance at the Cork Opera House? 😊 The drone footage is amazing amongst the ground footage. Lovely to see a couple of friends in your videos. No music at the pub but sounds like you had good company around the table🎉 I was wondering how much it cost you to top up the petrol tank when you got back home? 🧐🤔
@@Corrky cities generally have amazing botanical gardens and museums. The attraction in Cork for me would definitely be going to a performance at the Opera House. When our kids got older, we went to Melbourne and local Lighthouse Theatre, to see things like, Rocky Horror, burlesque, Dracula's Tavern and Mamma Mia. Does Galway have live theatre performances?? Thanks for letting me know about the petrol money price.🙏🏽
It’s the ancient Irish conga dancing, for me! 🕺🏻 Also, on behalf of this Philadelphian, we do not stan that sandwich. We will be starting a gofundme to send Himself a proper Philly Cheesesteak. 😋

Never been to Cork at all. I’m sure we will but I’m not attracted to big cities at all.
Petrol after we came back was 14 euros.
