What type of injury? Try doing a bunch of core, hip, and glute strengthening before your next long hike. If its something that just flares up from hiking you could have a muscle imbalance which is exaggerated due to your heavy pack and harder hiking. Happy trails!!
My grandfather (who is 95 this year) grew up hiking these mountains, and hiked until he was in his 80s. He calls the PCT the hikers highway, and his idea of a good time was walking the ridges from one mountain or lake to another, trail or no trail. There are many paths to peace in this life, and we know clearly where that path is when we stray from the path, and find ourselves in the thorns and swamps. Then we look back over at the trail, the way of life that brought peace, and say, "see? THERE it is, right over there!" just like John in this video. And we bushwhack and scramble our way back to that peace in life. Thanks for sharing your path John! It is an inspiration to know you are out there. Keep on walkin brother.
Yay! I've been missing your amazing videos and that one was AMAZING! Gorgeous scenery throughout and all of those Rocky Mountain goats was a bonus! I feel like you were so lucky to see that many. Thanks for all of the incredible footage!
I've officially watched all of your videos! When you posted this one yesterday I was in shock since it had been 3 months since your last one. I am so inspired and now my dream to hike the PCT is more of a near future goal that I will for certain do. I love your smile, attitude, and your willingness to share your "view". :) I also came to wonder just how many extra miles you've added to your adventures with just those walking away shots you capture. Haha!
Interestingly, we were within a few miles of you, on the SE corner of the Wonderland Trail, as you passed by Mount Rainier on August 19th. I've been inspired by your videos this hiking season and had no idea we'd come so close to crossing paths last hiking season. Thanks for the beautiful honest videos. I'm digging it.
I love your hiking videos. Part of me wishes they were longer because they’re so good, but maybe they’re so good partially because you are so selective of content. Either way, love it!

Coming back to this today for inspiration. Thank you John.
Currently stuck in Iraq so I love watching your videos it's about the closest thing I have to nature here lol
I got a fever and the only prescription is more hiking. These videos always make me yearn for the mountains.

You would seem to be utterly, delightfully, bonkers. :D And that is a part of what makes your videos so wonderful watching.
