It's really cool to hear all those anecdotes about development of the game and narrow gauge railroads in general. I hope this wasn't your last visit on this channel ;)
To fix the crane loading problem! Just have you be able to pay a person or 2 or 3 or what ever to load the thing for you. The more ":people" you have the faster the train loads. And if you have a caboose then you can skip time!
Love the game!! My prior posting I guess was pulled due to putting the link up for the track suggestion of a 45 deg crossing since it was an amazon link. Would love to see a three-way switch and the 45 deg crossing instead of the 90 deg one. Would also love to see skins like Kan was talking about,. The other thing that would be nice is dead-end track bumpers for rail spurs.
Was super awesome to play with you kAN! I had a whole lot of fun, especially when I got over my initial stage fright. (It happens to the best of us c: ) More to come soon? 👀
It is very nice of them to play with the community. But I wish they would invest some of their time to either read feedback, or create a feedback/bug report system. The game is wonderful and I love it, and the community has so much feedback. But all they offer is a Discord channel with very little to no organization? No wonder that some bugs have been reported multiple times within the last months and are still not on the known issues list. You can‘t read an endless wall of text messages. The fact that they have not implemented some sort of forum is alarming me, that the devs either don‘t care about player feedback or are too lazy and unorganized to make this game big.
@@xXxJakobxXx3 In my opinion, the lack of organisation stems from the relatively small amount of developers. You can´t really blame them for that. I also think that a good amount of bug fixing/development is getting done. Rushing it would result in unnessesary problems. The devs make this game in order to play it, not to develop it! It is their right and the purpose of this game to play. Lastly, i think that especially the amount of interaction and involvement of the community makes this game as loved as it is, and also that it makes this game grow like it does. This is why i wanted to thank them. The fact that they made this and other videos with kAN and also their own livestreams should convince you that they *do* care about player feedback. The fact that they made this game for all of us and are still working on tons of things should convince you that they are *not* too lazy for anything!

This game is my new addiction as I have been deprived by finances and space from continuing as a model railroader after my last move. I enjoy this game so much. Thank you for posting these amazing vids. Its all thanks to you and your channel that I am playing this game. Keep up the good work.
It's ALWAYS a good sign when the devs are nice enough to JOIN your server to help you fix something. The devs were great and deserve all the support they get and more. Keep up the good work!
I agree with the slow loading of freight. It would be cool if you could hire freight workers that would operate the cranes and also be able to upgrade crane speed and amount of freight lifted by cranes
Love having the devs in the videos talking about future plans, technical terms, tips, tricks, etc. it's a nice change from the normal videos and highlights how much passion they have for the game.
I am so glad this game exists. I'm not remotely a train person, but the idea that there is now a game out there for those who are just warms my heart. The fact that it's not a buggy trainwreck of a game also helps.
It would be entertaining to see with others on what combined trains are stronger together and what happens with a multi train head on collision in different areas

the sandy groundwork at the top of the hill looks awful that wide, you should redo it with the walled groundwork... This isn't normally my genre of game, however I still bought it because I love how much the devs enjoy making it. Also Kan building the Y is one of the signs of the apocalypse.
So here's a question for you guys, development wise that is, what are mechanics needed to import real world maps? For example say I wanted to model the terrain around where I live, not like the entire state, but let's say 25 square mile (I have no idea how big your world map is). If you could feed it a topographical map, say from google or something, have a utility (not trivial I know) throw trees and grass at it, and maybe an outline tool to do rivers and lakes? I'm one of those scale model railroad nuts, that have the 1/8 scale stuff running on about 30 acres, for a total of 1 actual mile of track. I'm looking at this game as a really neat practice tool for laying track or figuring out how to get from A to B in the best way possible. I really appreciate the work you guys are doing on this world simulator/game. This is fantastic!
I love this you talking to the developers on the game. Be nice to have a curved switch that would be helpful. And love the idea of faster loading of cars. Like the idea of maybe 1 day getting a 2 /8 / 8/ 2 in there and the larger train cars as well. You should keep doing this once a month with them. Or whenever you/ they can. Thanks again for the content for the game I've enjoyed playing since it first came out.
I am a member of a couple live steam clubs in the Pacific Northwest and I can tell you for certain, that if you need schematics for engines, the best thing to do is to contact as many live steam clubs as you can and tell them what you're looking for. There is an excellent chance they have it or know where it can be found. Hope this helps!
Talking to a bunch of older coworkers (ones who hired on before and directly after vietnam) they had a timetable, but also trainorders. Trainorders were put on a loop on a pole. One was higher for the engineer and one was lower for the caboose and were affixed to a loop the employee would get. Basically he stuck his arm out and hooked the loop. They basically told everything you needed to know and were recieved via telegraph (I dont know the exact way it worked because it was before my time) The pole had a ball attached to it, if the ball was low you got ready to hook the loop...if the ball was high, it was a highball. Which is where the term highball originated from. When I first hired on with the railroad, the oldest employee in Houston was 85 and had hired on in 1945, before the end of WW2.
We still run 3 rail sections here in Victoria, Australia (32km of it). V-Line (regional trains) and the XPT (interstate train) are all standard gauge, but the urban trains are all broad gauge. Freight is a mix of the two, depending on where it's going.
haha the concept of the devs bowing to your will is so hilarious It's always cool to have train experts in the videos because you never know what cool new facts they can tell you
I think, especially after they add in the passenger cars....they really need to have some buildable town buildings like a general store, church, houses, etc to give a reason for you to haul the cargo.....maybe a small factory of sorts that makes woodstoves for said buildings, or can be contracted to make railcars for a small discount when compared to the store, but requires time to be built instead of magically appearing at your station.....both of which could increase revenue for the player, making it less of a grind...giving the hauling more purpose, and making the game feel more alive...
It would be cool if the mile post could have the real distance if you set up the start post and based on the spline it would display the actual distance til the next post. It could be useful to calculate the water and wood needs for the route. Also automatic signs that based of the rails.

it'll be really sweet to have the "black hills" narrow gauge engines or a 2-8-2 mikido standard gauge engine with it's driving wheels tucked inside the frame with the weights on the ends of the axles along with the driving rods.. making you wonder "is this thing stable???" lol
No more. No more track lol. I just got done laying the track in our yard at the club layout. It was 18 tracks that each are a minimum of 32 feet long and funnels down into a 4 track main lol. Also, LONG LIVE THE COLORADO & SOUTHERN!
also for the tiered/ faster loading maybe once the player delivers a certain resource it unlocks a shop option(cart/ train purchase menu) to increase the loaded resource by 50% or 100% each
I was thinking about the loading. Maybe make it so you take cars to the location. Pay for loading, it gives you a time to wait and then you return to pick up the loaded train. (optional auto loading that costs a little money and time.) This way you can load a train, move off and fetch other goods. Eventually you could take a train out and return for the full train with a train of empties... which is pretty realistic.

I found your videos by chance and have now gotten the game and am giving it a go. Never played a train game like this before. Oh and I volunteer at a Railway Museum myself. I volunteer with both the museum's operations department as well as its track and signals department.
I'd love to see some British/ Welsh narrow guage like the double Farleigh. It was a narrow guage tank engine that was double ended. It had a single cab with one central firebox attached to a boiler facing each direction. Each with their own cylinders dome and chimney
I realy hope the devs will find time to make a swiss version: cogwheel (?) Narrow gauge mountain trains, of several railway companies (rhb, bvz, furka oberalp and many others). Many are preserved at heritage lines, a part of the rhätische bahn is even world heritage site!
23:15 Forget horses, I want to see rare, random Sasquatch, Slender-man, Grizzly Bears and other frightening things. Not so much attacking, just moving around amongst the trees. T-Rex and Raptors would be good too. :)

Many are preserved at heritage lines, a part of the rhätische bahn is even world heritage site!
There was a baboon signalman in 19th century South Africa called Railway Jack. So a signalman's job can't have been too demanding. 🤣
About time Kan. Kan The Conqueror.
Kanqueror
It's way about time kAN. And the DEVS. Fixed it for you awesome 🤠
23:15 Forget horses, I want to see rare, random Sasquatch, Slender-man, Grizzly Bears and other frightening things. Not so much attacking, just moving around amongst the trees.
T-Rex and Raptors would be good too. :)
how have i not heard of this game... looks very cool
An Australian Standard Garrett ASG would be a different steam loco they could use. It would be interesting to see different locos from around the world and work well with future additions of different worlds/locations to add to the game.
Whoop. Let see those samples .......definitely a recordable incident
THE Y WILL BE BUILT?! Whaaaaaattttt?
The prophecies were true!
I swear I see the same game appreciation in this game as I do in H3 and I love it and I genuinely wanna participate but the track building in it just. I can’t do that kinda thing because I get to frustrated and leave and I’ll never do it. But I love this game and the models I see all the time.
regarding spring back switches: Where i live we have a narrow gauge trainline and all the switches on the track a spring backs
I have two of the poles with the Y at the top that they used to give letters to the train crew
BEST EVER :D love it!!!
