- Hey everyone and welcome back to more Railroads Online! Today we are back with @Hyce777 running a massive double header train around the entire map! This train is loaded to the max with product making it overweight at every step of the journey! Will we be able to transport this behemoth of a train without issues?

This was a lot of fun kAN! Thanks for having me. And dealing with my garbage audio problems! :P I finally have a fix for the fix. :D
Hi hyce!!!! You, kAN, and Dapper should do a triple header and do a multiple run, like doing a iron run, saw mill run, and a coal mine run in ONE VIDEO. Sounds crazy but it going to be cool, Ps. Can you do a derail Valley Double long haul please?
No bigboy for Ro
hi hyce, do you have any plans on improving the distance at wich we see the trains when not on your own server ? (or maybe u already did i'm late, sorry i don't have the game my pc can't handle it ;-;(
@@m.debilus8419 yup, doubling with the next update :)
m
17:31 the fact that kAN leaves the brakes at 100% on the Cooke and then says that it doesn't move forward 😅 I think I know why maybe 😂
Yuup, I face palmed at that
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed lol
Lol my thoughts exactly
Let’s hope he sees this comment so they can try again in the future
Yeeeep
Best double header combo I have found in the current build is a Class 70 with a Heisler behind it. 20 fully loaded cars up 3% all day long. Drive from the Heisler if using the RROx Sync feature however. There's a weird input lag issue with RROx.
Edit: LOL I was thinking "kAn needs more sidings for storing empty rolling stock." 1 minute later, Hyce: You need more sidings.
Which brings me to my other tip: Leave empty and loaded rolling stock at the industry you're going to use it at. Storing it at the Freight Depot is a waste of time.
One thing I've wondered, and maybe you can answer, is can you use a fast train to drag a gear train faster than it would normally drive in this game?
If so, unrealistic, but would definitely be cool and best of both worlds.
@@Nevir202 The Heisler currently has the same top speed as the other non-gear trains. 16 or 17mph I think it was. Which is why I use that in my double header combo. The Climax's cap however is slower by like 5mph. Around 11. I would assume a Class 70 on flat ground could pull the Climax past it's capped speed limit.
@@SternLX I see, I didn't think either of them hit the speed limit. Thanks
@@Nevir202 I'm using a double headed train with a Heisler and a Climax. On flat ground to 2% gradient the Heisler pulls the Climax to around 17mph. But on 3% or more grade the power of the climax becomes dominant and the train slows down to 11mph. I think this is more of a glitch with how the game calculates physics. I think the Heisler would be strong enough to boost the climax.
Same. Thats what I use all day long and cause the heisler has train car style coupling it doesn't have the weak link breakage issue with the front forks on the engines that have plows.
Hyce is carrying these episodes with slow moments, i bet he's talked more than you have from all his railroading exposition
I love how kAN started out just playing this game because it was interesting and is now slowly becoming a railroad nerd
Love all three of your guys' videos! kAN, Hyce, and Dapper. I am excited for the realistic chuffing with the pistons/wheel rotation!!! :D
I bet a single K-37 or Articulated could pull ALL that SINGLE-HANDED.
Ah yes, the YANK technique.
BRUH HANDBRAKE
28:30 - I guess this is why logistical hauls exist in Derail Valley; the industry that owns the train cars wants them back and pays to have them returned.
Neat detail
Dude, you need to get 7 people, and have a septuple header train in this order from back to front:Class-70, Heisler, Cooke Mogul, Eureka, Climax, Porter 2, Betsy.
THE COOKIE HAD ITS BRAKES ON WHEN YOU WERE TRYING TO GO FORWARD ON THAT FIRST HILL AAA
Can’t wait for the increased speed cap
Real podcast vibes with background gameplay
New catch phrase for kAN in railroads online. "If its kAN, the brake is on" Make it so hyce.
Former railcar repairman here, he's absolutely right on the car repair part except for that unless it has a major problem a car will not go into a shop, or even leave the train.
kAN: "Oh my god, the tender brake's been on the whole time."
Me: "kAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!"
Maybe taking off the break on the cooke up the hill would make it a bit easier on the Class 70 lol
I absouluty love the fact that the one guy works at a locomotive museum and deals with steam engines and this guys channel he said he used to be in automotive.... I'm a car nerd and train geek (lol).... I've been looking into being a Conductor for Canidan Pacific Railroad.... and I've loved automotive, well anything with a engine all my life....
And as I been watching this I've been playing "Train Sim World 3" on Xbox and yes I'm operating a steam loco' 😁
you shoulda added a Eureka and left it at full reg. It could have boosted you up the hills.
Or maybe the should have turned the tender brakes off
speed limit means eureka would've been of little use. Also not the most powerful thing ever
They should add warehouses to the game, so you can bring large amounts of products to your central hub, and then ship them out
this video was great to watch while playing railroads online, it made me notice a bug where the porters brakes aren't strong enough to keep the porter from moving even when fully engaged and on flat terrain.
@@bilbobaggins1934 for me the porter wasn’t hooked to anything and still over powered the brakes at about 20 to 30 percent reg and full brake’s from a dead stop. But I don’t know if it is a bug on my save or common on other saves. I will admit it is a little funny to see the porter still move under full brake.
@@azurepony9972 might have been a FPS related issue?
@@ChaoticNeutralMatt not really i was not having fps issues at the time and it overpowered the brakes from a dead stop as well on both the eureka and the porter but i will admit as some one with only entry level knowledge of programing this could be a bug on my save file. but i encourage anyone to try this themselves if they want to it is a weird bug, at least to me.
kAN; *blows whistle excessively*
Hyce; it’s just two
kAN; *keeps blowing whistle*
Hyce; I- it- ITS JUST TWO!!
yay!
SWEET
This seems familiar... *Flashbacks to the time I tired to do the same with 34 cars and 3 Cooke Moguls*
You can do a 14 car (+caboose ) run and deliver all industries, without switches or cross overs.
14 cars are needed because partial unloading isn't a thing, and you would only arrive at depot with 10 barrels to tell the tale.
Some goods are "overproduced", but i suspect they will be in dire demand in future update: rails, beams, coal and tools.
It's obviously not the exact ratio of goods but just barely enough to run every industry, because if you account for the fact that goods get produced at twice the rate if the other is backed up, you end up with a mindbogglingly long train. I wouldn't be surprised if such a "perfect ratio" train would span the entire track, which might actually be a good thing, since it could more or less cancel out tractive-effort needed to pull uphill (if the different types of goods are distributed evenly) thus eliminating the need for hundreds of locomotives to pull it.
You would still need 10 people, one for each industry + 1conductor to run the whole thing.
I had to double head the cooke's to move my 30 empty coal cars just for the brakes. I have a video on my channel of my Class 70 pulling 84 empties out by the oil fields! I'm trying to get to over 100 cars just to see if I can. This was all on Realistic difficulty too.
so insted of maliking a big bridge across the iron works valley since you went the other way you put a Y at the smelter island thing and thean made a 2 bridges thats verry smart
The train's not overweight it's just big boned.
Hyce, the wreck you're referring to was 494 pushing thru 483's tender at Falfa just east of Durango. I don't remember the date. The fireman on 483 was killed in the wreck.
Love dappers new channel wallpaper you have him for your will in the marble race
Pickin' up coal and we're pickin' up speed.
Shovel as much as the engine needs.
Ain't no slave but we slave away,
All the way to Frisco Bay.
Make a quadriple header and let kosmo and dapper run the other trains. We want to see it :D
I would love to see Kan go back to live streaming.
Alsoe overall great vid
Would be nice to have diamond crossovers.
this is the type of vid where i'd like for there to be no background music and the game audio just ever soo SLIGHTLY louder
Your doing 27 cars with two locomotives when I'm doing 40 with one climax
I feel like you did not need the Class 70 tender.
3:15 whats going on with the very front wheel?
FYI, Canadian Tire is the 3rd largest rail company in Canada due to the sheer number of cars they own and they don't own any engines.
They are only beat by CP and CN, the actual main railways in Canada
kAN, you should totally make that 10% or nothing track! Would def watch this!!!
Great job guys
pls use all trains on a massive trip with all your friends
I was half hoping to see the DeLorean in front of the train. lol
The rear end had either red flags/lanterns and "markers" for the train itself. White- extra, green-following section, red-last section. There were/are many variations, but this is the most basic.
Dragon cement leases cement hoppers and a railroad contracted by the state operates them (currently cp)
Sick a hand car in the back
All but the first ever early Engines like stephensons rocket in UK had dampers of varing sizes as economical controled burning as for water if on a very long run on long heavy trains water scoops were installed in tenders to scoop up water at strategic points along given routes for standard gauge. Narrow gauges were never that long to require scoops and were on mostly welsh mountains for coal mining so saving coal was not so much of an issue.
I hope the game devs add regulation of water heat in the fire box and pressure to make sure the trains boiler won't explode
Cool
hand/flag and Lantern Signals were the rule before Radios came to be.
the Tender Brake was forgotten = talk about some major flat spots. the Shop gang is going to HATE You!
don't forget the Boing's for Derails!
brilliant video
Nice
funny enough hearing the things with rates for repairs and mantience within the railroading industry makes me go yeah its the same in the world of automotive repair you have a book of every possible repair along with the rates you charge per hour of labor(you charge the same even if the repair is done in less time as you charge the customer based on the expected time to repair)
this is what i was waiting for
Maybe hyce should add the ability to make custom switches.
Like curved, v switches, three pointed, etc.
And maybe be able to change the size of them... The current switches are good but they're a bit difficult to work with in some situations
I immediately want this game
still waiting for the 4 x 70!
A 280
The Boss Man Asked you When you got Back? How meany Attempts, did it take for you to notice the Brake was on.Ha Ha
I realy do enjoy these videos. You also get extra views from me sence I need to watch 3 times sence I like to dfall asleep to them
You talk about a spread sheet to do the Weight math for your trains. Is this avaliable somewhere?
I'm honestly waiting for the splines update to resume my track building
Man I wish I could pull trains this long. Most I have pulled is 30 and that after taking a different path since the tender always derailed on the lead class 70.
My grandmother actually owns several train cars, there's a company that helps you purchase railroad cars and then helps you lease them out to different rail companies around the United States and it gives you a passive monthly income from each rail car. A great way to get passive income after retirement
4:48
You don't say?😏
"So you weren't pitching wood absolutely constantly" "Deep Firebox" "Long Wood". Damn was Hyce going hard on the euphemisms today.
btw the service sidings are called riptides
Kan, you should refer to the weights spreadsheet as "the boss"
Handcar racing next!
OMG I have a Cooke mogle too but is it a mountain engine idk if it standard or narrow
The track that goes in a invisable bilding is where the buying menu is. BTW I'm in my mom's accunt
I have seen this manoeuvre. It is scary watching from inside a vehicle
@45:54 did Hyce say "Dutch drop" ? As being Dutch curious what that means?
Slang term to pull away from the cars you have behind you while running, have someone throw the switch once you get past it so the cars go down the other leg. Why it's called a "Dutch Drop" I couldn't tell you.
@@Hyce777 intersting, would love to know the background. I know US has a term "going Dutch" when havign a dinner at a restaurant, kinda hinting to us Dutch having a reputation to be cheap :p
33:30 on a multiplayer i crashed a train right there cus a "land slide" broke the track. fully loaded coal and 2 of the op geared locos forgot the name
really wish you could change the color of the locomotive, would love a dark green engine
Hey Kan, why not put a train siting on that hill and buy the hysler or the other gear train and have it there for pulling trains up the hill
I reckon this could have been easy with the Heisler or climax instead of class 70 or Cooke mogul
Challenger from the 19th century😂
Love the intro XD
Ahh, you left the brake on the front loco
Hi
hi!
Hello
‘ello, gov’na
Now what you need todo is a climax and the hiesler
Hey Kan Could maybe upload Your Map so we can play on it too
The solution to this is a very oversized train, the Allegheny locomotive.
Wow
Could have just dropped off all empties at each place and left them in certain spots where you could get the whole train put together
Early gang, where u at?
Video literally came out 16 seconds ago.
Lol
What do you think about adding some wildlife.
I wish they wood add more trains
Amazing
I think you should have had an engine on both ends of the train
have i only noticed when you put logs on the carts it bends due to the weight?
Curious if you were to have have a long train on a circular track where as the front of the locomotive could be attached to the rear car, would the physics engine make the train go faster because the locomotive would be equally pushing and pulling, or would there be no effect at all.
It probably wouldn't move
the boss said it will work so now its my job to make it work to close to home with that one
curious I saw someone towing a betsy on a track on a flatcar, does the flat car see the weight?? Could you in theory put a hopper (with its brakes at 100%) on track that is a on a flat car would the flat car see that 10,000lbs??
Good question. I would say probably. Another question is if the saddled engine is still subject to the artificial speed limit, or if that only applies to engines touching the rails. Not that there would be any real use for having something as precariously stacked as that go stupid fast.
Gradual slope
Can you start buying more of the same locomotives so if you do double, triple, etc. headed trains. It'll look slightly more "realistic" or "pleasing" then mixing locomotives together
Add a schedule sheet it’s a waybill
17:42 cookie brakes are on 100% kan u dumny 😆
One engine making it to a flat spot doesn't immediately make it able to pull a whole load up an incline kAN
