Suuuuch a sick camera. Never thought about it as a film set BTS set up but it works so well. The photos Jeff Bridges took with it are wicked iconic, glad to finally know how he did it!
There were a few swing-lens panoramic cameras that were made. The Horizon and Noblex do things much like the Widelux. Then, there's the Roundshot and the Lomo Spinner that do 360° photos. There was also the very old Kodak Panoram, but good luck finding film for this one.
Some of the Kodak Panorams are easily adapted to 120, I have shot with one but despite producing huge negatives my images were often disappointingly soft. The Horizon 202 is a brilliant camera and often available new old stock.

Cool camera. I remember these being advertised in photo mags years ago. And I've seen Jeff Bridges' photos, and they're great. I like using my Bronica ETRS with the 135W panoramic back. True panoramic without distortion. Just a few millimeters less wide than Xpan shots, from a much less expensive and more reliable camera.

I literally sourced a widelux F8 from france a week ago lol. I love Jeff Bridges photobooks so much i got both of his series. Its so great and inspirational. The "wide angle distorsion" is pretty interesting, and the ultra wide image is just something you can't get, even with a fisheye or xpan's 30mm lens. I read that these cameras suffer from banding, which is the panning motion becomes inconsistent causing different brightness in the image. which seems to be there in your photos? that might be why it need the massage?
Very cool video. I use a 125 year Al-vista 3B swing lens camera. Its such great way to take photos. I'm a sucker for panos. I dropped a video about it today.
