great walkthrough! I'm definitely going to give this one a shot for next year. Looking forward to soaking up as much info from you as possible. photos of the prop taken apart and it's individual components would be super helpful... thanks again!
@ I’m really curious as to how modular it is. Also, how well it’s supported to the ground. We get up to 40mph gusts. Mine would need to be really secure.
@@checkyourhopper While it could be done several ways, I kept mine such that the skeleton with platform, pumpkin, plastic pot inside the pumpkin, and fire ring are all separate. It made it fairly easy for me to move it around. As for wind, we don't get anything too strong so I can speak. The skeleton is attached pretty solid to the wood and then the cauldron goes on top keeping it weighed down even more.
Well, thanks for the offer :) I'd like to do a super detailed one. I was even thinking of building a second one and doing something where someone could win it. I'll be setting up a patreon soon so that anyone who wants to support any of my work can. Stay tuned for the video etc. Thanks for appreciating!
Hell YES!!🙌. Love the details and the simple 👀 look, makes it more magic and less boredom. I can see these having the ability to combine multiple skeletons to make a larger scene, fog and lightning. Yup, very cool indeed 💪😎👍
Make your hose so that it runs a bit uphill from the fogger to a midway point between the mister box and cauldron, then downhill into the cauldron. Water will be able to drain away back into the mister box and down into the cauldron. Or entirely uphill in one or the other direction.
Wow! I am impressed! I also find your voice excellent for listening to your explanations. I’m sure you get this question a lot but since I haven’t seen an answer, I’ll ask. How many bins does it take to store the stirring pumpkin set up? And I’ll be cheeky and ask if you’d come here and help a bunch of us with classes on your builds. The kids here where I live in Scotland love Halloween but hardly any homes celebrate it. As a Californian transplant here, I’d LOVE to show these kids a damn good Halloween 🎃
Thanks! I'm glad my explanations worked well, especially for not using a mic or anything. Haha, I haven't put it away yet cause I'm going to make a more in depth video, but when I do it will go into my friends garage so no bins necessary. It's pretty crazy how well everything packs up. Um, traveling to Scotland to do a Halloween class would be amazing! Maybe someday!!
Thanks! I get that question a lot..lol! So much of it actually packs up and really condenses together not requiring too much space. Everything combined can fit within about a 10x6 space in the garage. Last year I stored a lot of stuff on the sides of my house under tarps etc. This year I was lucky enough to have a friend who has a huge 3 car garage and offered me to use one of the spaces.
Amazing job I can’t wait to try to make something like this

@@checkyourhopper thanks! Yeah I’m going to make a much more detailed video. Might build another one and film the whole process step by step.

If you do it super detailed so that even a novice could do it, I would happily pay for the instructional video.

Brilliant! Well done.
Many thanks!
How amazing! The motion is really smooth, you really did an awesome job creating this. Thanks for sharing the magic!

Awesome! But where do you keep all this stuff in the off season?

What does the all thread rod in the spine connect to - the rod in the legs?
I have a short piece of pvc at the bottom of the spine that it attaches to.
Which skeletons did you start with
Just basic ones from walmart/taget etc.
