Lowko in the first episode of LotV: "Nah, Cringetanis".

He's come a long way from the days when he chose to pilot a scout into battle and people mistook him for an Orc.
I think he has the best character arc between him, Raynor, and Kerrigan.

There is an easter egg. If you stay long in the solar core a damaged probe will float to karax to be repaired several times, karax is even surprised the same probe can manage to get damaged so many times

There were *some* ideas core to the SC2 plot in place in SC:BW but even an early SC2 storyboard seems to have focused around _the Xel'Naga themselves_ returning as hostile forces. The Zerg-attuned hybrid still has a few files in the editor identifying it as a "Xel'Naga Viper".
Duran pretty much identified himself explicitly as a servant of the Xel'Naga and created the hybrid of course. However as per the SC1 backstory the Xel'Naga were presented more as super-advanced aliens (basically having mastered everything the Protoss used, as most of the tech was taken from their exiled gods) but mortal and fallibe. "Some" Xel'Naga supposedly fell fleeing Aiur since the Protoss viewed their departure as betrayal. The original manual claimed the Overmind caught them by surprise and annihilated their entire fleet without any non-Zerg help (and also left Zerus devoid of all life as the Swarm took to the skies, retconned in HotS). Amon was only introduced as a character in WoL and named in HotS.
Interestingly some of the books had Zeratul following some "space phoenix" energy beings to a strange wormhole. One of them was formed by a Xel'Naga temple absorbing Protoss and Zerg, expelling Terrans unharmed. In hindsight these probably were newborn Xel'Naga who we then saw dead in Ulnar, or Amon's Hybrid Nemeses leading the attack on them (since I don't recall you ever selecting one, the Nemesis breed is the flying hybrid unit seen throughout LotV)
Duran never said "Xel'Naga", just "a power that has slept for countless ages, and is reflected in the [hybrid] in that cell", right? Implies something Xel'Naga-ish, but Amon fits the bill no problem.
Artanis gives a phase-smith the highest of honors in a never-before act of uplifting him to the rank of templar...
And Alarak rolls his eyes. xD

It makes sense. With the Tal'darim you just kill the guy above you, no recognition ceremony needed.
Hanging out with Artanis makes you roll your eyes frequently with all his cringy speeches and all. Anyone could have won a battle if you have a fleet of Carriers with you. Also, Alarak won a popularity contest that is the Rak'Shir so where's his Artanis speech, huh?

In fact in this scene he raised all Protoss to Templar so yeah Karax is promoted to Templar and it is a great honor but all are Templar so... (Poor Karax)
Imagine that Immortal after reclamation
-You died
-Pieces of your brain and body are gathered and placed in a mech you control so you can keep fighting for the glory of your people
-you get mindcontrolled and brainwashed to fight for Amon and like it
-while in this state your gods enemies come and take control of your mech
-you watch yourself fight against your own people
a)you die fighting against your own people (whether you regain yourself in the last few moments is another thing)
b)you survive until the defeat of amon and realize all this agonizing for betraying your people was a lie...

Once you finish the campaign you should replay the final mission with different army compositions on livestreams. Like going with an army that is just Tal´darim units and then just units from shakuras, or at least as much as you can have in an army composition.

He’ll have to shift things a little for the achievements.
Also don't forget the epilogue. I want to see him play those as they are some of the hardest missions imo.
I mostly found most of the epilouge missions easy except for the final one but the hardest mission across all campaigns was the Terran Final mission All In.
Artanis gives an epic speech about class and uplifts a simple craftsman to level of Templar giving him honor and glory in his throne-room among other members of royalty... and Lowko replies Aww that was so cute. XD

Yea I understand's Syndrome's words, what I don't understand is how this applies to this situation. If everyone is a warrior then everyone is a warrior. Because a warrior is simply one who partakes in war. The logic doesn't apply in this case.
Don't forget Lowko, Karax has the ability to make structures work much faster. And in the final mission he will present in the battlefield, don't miss the chance but don't rely too much on him either

I love the Wrathwalkers. I keep them and Dark Archons to quick kill any big bad enemies (dark Templar for units that can be mind controlled, wrathwalkers for hybrid and void enemies).

Artanis has come a long way since being the executor in SC1. Can't say the same for the magistrate, UED captain, and cerebrates, they're either MIA or dead.

Indeed a shame that only the Protoss PCs (Artanis and Selendis) get elevated into characters in the following games. I really wanted the Magistrate to be Matt Horner as well, but the novels and wiki disagree. He should've been another NPC on the Hyperion.
Yeah, the cerebrates all died and so did the UED captain, but the magistrate escaped with raynor at the end of the the original terran campaign... and just disappeared I guess.

A lot of the structure of the conflict in SC2 was plotted out before Brood War was released(3rd-party campaign Retribution even mentions a prophecy). I think the original expectation was that SC2 would be released a lot sooner but the massive success of BW pushed the sequel back for years. Most of the overall story with Duran and the Hybrid remained intact with a lot of the shifts revolving around characters. For instance, Ulrezaj from the Enslaver campaigns and Dark Templar Saga novels was going to be involved with his own Tal’Darin but there wasn’t room for another villain and Zeratul was going to be the main protagonist in LotV but Artanis made a more interesting leader. The whole concept of the Xel’Naga and Infinite Cycle were around early on and were addressed in the novels before SC2 was released.

Storywise they new the general direction they wanted to follow with an eventual Starcraft 2. Plotwise - don't know. I remember there was a leaked cutscene years before Wings of Liberty came out, where Kerrigan kills Argturus. It became the last cutscene from the Heart of the Swarm campaign. So It seems Blizzard plans many years in advance, which is not that surpricing.

I’m pretty sure the story was being worked on since SC1 but since they had to pull people from across Blizzard to help work on WoW the development on SC2 got delayed
Lowko, have you used dark archons yet? If you haven't tried them yet, you should try them out in the mission after the next one. Mind Control is a pretty fun ability to play around with.
Try building production facilities near karax on the final mission. Thats really good.
If you're not ready to say good bye to the story line, you can always replay Nova's campaign now that you'll understand the villain's motivation and can play mission 4 with the production bug fixed.
Now that you have all of the solarite and all of the Spear of Adun systems, you may find interesting that the first mission in Into The Void end part of the campaign, the Protoss build is actually recreatable. The build is:
- Deploy Pylon (0 solarite);
- Solar Lance (50 solarite);
- Warp Harmonization (50 solarite);
- Shield Overcharge (50 solarite);
- Reconstruction Beam (100 solarite);
- Time Stop (50 solarite);
- No auxillary systems, 300/300 solarite used.
As for the units, I don't exactly remember, but I'll try and relearn them by the time of your next episode. For now, why you won't go full Aiur? This could be fun :)

#LowkoTV please remember well of Karax's aura ability in this mission. In further mission, Karax will once again joins your force but as Allied AI which you cannot control. Still, his aura emits from him. You can make use of his aura to boost your production building such as stargate, starport or robo-fac just by placing them near him.

Duran was experimenting with Zergs and Protoss in Brood War. So yes, the Duran-Narud was already in place since SC1.
I liked running reconstruction beam with my robo army.
The last Capital ship is a Tal'darim mothership. It has black hole and thermal lance which is like a single shot solar lance from the spear of Adun but you can only have 1 at a time and it costs 1k minerals AND gas
I'd love to see Lowko attempting the mastery achievement on this one. Anybody want to make a bet on how many attempts he's going to have to make before he figures out how to walk Vorazun through this without letting her take a single shot from a hydra or muta or a single baneling splash? I've guessing at least eight.
I guess the next time you visit the Solar Core, that Probe Karax fix is gonna come to him like 4 - 5 times
Ah, so close to the end. I always love robo Fenix's optimism this late in the story with that little conversation reminiscing the original Fenix's memories.
I love SC for the cut scenes and conversations mainly, it's the story line is what fascinate me about it not the game play (while it's good though)

Since this campaign is about nearing its end I would just share my unit composition that primarily used all thru out the campaign(after obtaining them).
Melee Warrior: Centurion (Nerazim) - These Nerazim zealots really are worth dumping your minerals for. I mean just having like 5 to 6 of these and have them stack their stun on enemies preventing them from attacking surely makes this one worth too much for just a couple of minerals. Yes, their stuns stack (when a stun dissipates another zealot stuns the enemies again in autocast), these really make them invaluable in base defense as they can finish off enemies without them dying also. Just one centurion can hold itself against 4-5 zerglings by stunning them frequently.
Ranged Warrior: Adepts (Purifier) - I once tried the dragoon but they seem to be such a glass cannon especially with their bulky bodies sometimes occupying too much space (insert yo momma joke here) which reduced a lot of dps when the others can't attack. I then found out that the adepts deal the same amount of damage as the dragoons (20 dmg) and they occupy less space, which helps a lot when I definitely use them like marines and attack move like no tomorrow. Also, their shade thing helps in scouting areas that have lots of enemies so I can drop Fenix before sending armies just to keep dem alive.
Robotic Assault: Annihilator (Nerazim) - All of dem Immortals are good though and I just switch whatever seems to be more viable in the next mission. Though I think I am more inclined to the annihilators just because they can target fire down a priority target which you will be doing in the last missions of LoTV.
Cloaked Warrior: Dark Templar (Nerazim) - Spam dem, den use dem shadow fury, watch every ground unit disappear into the void... nuff said. The Corsairs and the Blood Hunters ability stacks so you only need one of dem against base defenses. They are all good too whatever your preference may be.
Robotic Support: Energizer (Purifier) You seriously can't go wrong with this. This is just one of the best support units in the entire game. I tried the sentry and havoc but this one is just way powerful especially with that psi-matrix overload.
Starfighter: Mirage (Purifier) - This one actually just ties with the Corsair of the Nerazim. I like them both and just use them interchangeably but I have an inclination towards the Mirage simply because of their phasing out ability and the graviton beam.
Psionic Warrior: Dark Archon (Nerazim) - I cannot stress enough as to how powerful this unit is. It is already an archon with attack and splash damage, only now with additional skills. Just have like 3-4 of dem Dank Archons can hold an entire base better than 100 base defenses. The units you mind control are essentially free of supply thus you can stack the heck out of it. Their confusion ability can decimate groups of enemies as they attack each other. It was fun mind controlling warp prisms in the campaign (because it's not available for us) and just using it for fun warping anywhere on the map (With Dark Archons, Centurions, Adepts, and Dark Templars, suddenly life became easier in the brutal difficulty)
Assault Ship: Void Ray (Nerazim) - Protoss deathball for the win. Focus dem 6-10 void raizers on dem priority targets in the last missions.
Robotic Siege: Wrathwalkers (Taldarim) - I just have that euphoric feeling of having like 5-6 of these in my unit composition and see them one-shotting things with relative ease. It was also the case for the reavers if only they were not that so sluggish.
Capital Ship: Unknown (For now) - I don't really want to spoil you of the last unit, a capital ship, is going to be. It's just that when I saw it for myself I almost forgot about dem others. The Carriers are fine and dandy but this one is the cavalry you'll be needing in the final missions. Definitely would recommend getting it.
I would like to know about others own compositions and opinions. Planning to replay the entire SCII campaign hopefully. It has been so long since I played this campaign and it is surely a sight for sore eyes this videos :) Keep it up Lowko.

A little nice thing to know for the next mission carriers have synergy with the purifier zealots the sentinels since they are mechanical unlike the other two varients so they can be repaired. Also the accendend fit pretty good with them both since you can drain your sentinels life with sacrifice and then repair them right up afterwards :)

you know I really feel like they should rename Starcraft 2 to the Legacy of Zeratul. I mean if not for him Jim wouldn't have even thought of trying to bring Sarah back, nor would Sarah have been reborn as a better version of the Queen of Blades.
f00dify actually you're right, if you think about it, that's why the last chapter is called Legacy of the "Void". void=dark templar=Zeratul, everything that happened until this point is because Zeratul made it possible (influenced by "Tassadar" of course).
LeoJesus if u look into it in another way, raynor assembled xelnaga artifact to drain energy from kerrigan. And this is why amon was able to be awoken
Danik Shynybayev Danik Shynybayev oh yeah, but that was part of Duran/Narud plan, not zeratul. Zeratul wanted Kerrigan to live and reawake as a Zerg, that's why he showed his memories to Raynor. Raynor didnt save Kerrigan because of love, he did it thanks to Zeratul's influence. Without Zeratul Amon would have win with no opposition.

@lowkotv as to the storyline, many of the ideas you're now experiencing exist in Christie Goldings novels. So if it was not explicitly written, the ideas was there.

I think that Blizzard had a great Story line writer who wrote basically the whole SC screenplay as a novel series a while before SC1 came out. There may ofc have been alterations to small areas of the story line but I think it was all finished 20yrs ago already
Sentinels are mechanical too, so reconstruction beam and carrier repair works on them as well.
Lowko in the last mission on Aiur you should take the Tal'darim variant of the carrier and the Dark Archon

There's some basis on SCI/BW's story in SCII, but a lot of elements were invented within SCII. I don't think the writers of Broodwar intended Kerrigan to be indispensable to defeating the greater scope Xel'Naga villain, or that Raynor would pivot from his vow of revenge toward Kerrigan because an unlikely means of deinfesting her emerged.

I'm actually sad that Rohana cuts of her connection to the Khala. That ring looks badass.
The cast system has bee abolished. A big moment for Protos civil rights - and all thanks to Karax.
I have never done competitive before. It terrifies me. I like to goof off and relax.
"My connection to the Khala has just scored us important intelligence, this cell has repeatedly shown to be able to contain the danger that this connection poses, and the destruction of Amon is in sight. Obviously now is the time for me to give up on preserving the Khala through this conflict and beyond." Wat.
Artanis convinced her the Protoss were better off striking their own path instead of sticking to the old ways. Also Alarak showed those cells *can* be broken and approaching Amon directly the last thing they need is a powerful psionic conduit sabotaging the Spear from within.

And as the ending will show that was the correct call, Amon is driven back explicitly because the Khala is destroyed or at least locally dismantled.

Wrathwalkers can attack air units; they can also attack while moving.
I would think they had a rough storyboard at the start worked out, with the main storyline (which would include things like Narud/Duran) and then filled in the details later as they made the games/expansions

Narud/Duran came out in the WoL, I suspect as a cover-up to people following the story. I remember people crafting theories that Duran = Narud inverted.
You could set an advertisement breakpoint where the story part ends and gameplay begins.
Definitely second using Dark Archons in the last mission to mind control as much of the Golden Armada as possible. Save them from destruction! I know with your macro and micro skills you can make it happen. Void ray/corsair seems a powerful way to dominate the enemy. Wrath walkers, aka "angry laser giraffes" can also attack air and might be better against hybrid (including the flying ones) and beefy Protoss units than the "laser giraffes"
