After more than 100 episodes, we have finally arrived at the StarCraft 2 epilogue. In these three missions we will find out what happened to the Terran, Protoss and the Zerg. It turns out that Kerrigan may very well be the key that Zeratul told us about so very long ago.

Pssst, in Brood War, Duran says "Goodnight" to Stukov before he kills him, this it all came full circle with Stukov's revenge
To be precise. Duran says "Say goodnight Stukov".
And now he has.
It's pretty brutal. The same guy who shot Stukov captured, tortured, and experimented on him later. Definitely some bad blood between those two.
lol. I thought it was something from Russian culture . . . that it was a Russian thing to say "goodnight" before killing someone . . . but maybe I thought that because Stukov said it with a Russian accent.
So, the Xel'Naga are an entire race of Cthulhu people... Dream come true!
They are basically outer gods, literally living in the voids of space. I don't know what's more Lovecraftian than that.
You can go beyond that. A God that is beyond Reality. So much so that "Reality" is only the Dream of this God. THAT is as Lovecraftian as it gets :P I can't remember its name, but it's the supreme being of Lovecraft's world. Even the most powerful Outer Gods are but the dream of this One Supreme Entity.
I found their design disappointingly unoriginal
I mean, we have seem similar things in C'Thulu and other creatures that mimic that aesthetic, but in the Starcraft Universe they are unique. I will agree that they are a bit disappointing, but somehow it's also fitting that this being beyond reality, looks so odd.
Exedo nah the creature of the void turns the dark protoss mad overtime if they dont have strong will.
As a result they cant delve too delph into the void knowledge.

That last moment with him and Narud tastes so sweet. Thinking about all the ways Narud royally @#%ed up Stukov's life, and he just end it with a casual "good night".

If you missed it, Lowko, once Xel'naga die in the Void, they are dead forever - no returning.
This exactly - Artanis and Kerrigan came across a tomb of the Xel'Naga the first time around on Ulnar, so if they just didn't die, it would've been...well, lackluster. Everything after would've just not made much sense.
He already knows, he made a playthrough of LotV as soon as it came out.
He doesn't. He just forgets it again.

@@KaiHarper89 I actually wonder how Amon killed them all, in that one place. When they killed Amon, he was surrounded by void crystals. Why weren't the others also protected by void crystals? Did Amon kill them somewhere else and then just dump them there, like it was the janitor's or cleaner's storeroom?
One more thing . . . do dead Xel'naga have a smell? When humans die, they eventually decompose and let off an odor. Artanis and Kerrigan didn't say anything about that, however. Just saying. I'm surprised that they didn't say something like . . . arrgghhhh . . . it smells quite bad in here . . . like someone died.

Lowko, whenever you hear someone talk, you should take a look at the minimap because something starts happening somewhere. Blizzard use voice cues to inform you when something is about to throw down. For example, every time Narud says "Terrans/Zerg R bad" he starts sending a Void Thrasher to that race's base. in fact, you should just check the minimap more often in general.
'Terrans/Zerg R bad' that's just a perfect fit with my headcanon from the last Legacy of the Void mission that Amon is just a really BM Starcraft player with the way he's always insulting your race and manages to lose despite all his advantages XD.
He created the Hybrid to purge 'all the OP races'. Imagine typical BM lines in his spooky voice when he's fighting Artanis/Kerrigan/Raynor and losing.
watching destroyers is painful as all hell. those thicc looking red beams doing 1 dmg per second
1. Build 10 destroyers
2. Send them near Nah-rude from the empty areas

Artanis, Kerrigan, Stukov , Raynor and all of there Army fought him.
He just gave him the finishing blow.
In HotS Stukov said that Narud/Duran is an ancient shape-shifter. I don't think he is a Xel'Naga. He doesn't even look like one.
Ouros said: "the fallen one" not a Xel'Naga. Narud was far weaker than Amon and weakened even more before Stukov finally killed him with psychic blast.
It's been a while since I played SC2, but from what I remember, Narud/Duran was a powerful being with characteristics like those of the Hybrid, but wasn't Xel'naga or even one of the regular Hybrids. If Narud/Duran was really a Xel'naga, he would have been doing what Amon was doing. Besides, Xel'naga need a body and it takes a lot of work to get one. Narud got his by cheaper means, so he's obviously a lesser being.

FYI: for the mastery achievement, turtle at your base and only spend vespene gas on destroyers, you should get about 20. Defend with zealots / cannons only. When you main gas is gone, run your destroyers up the side, then all in on narud. Use Shield Overcharge first, then Time Stop, you should win with about 6-8 destroyers left.

Artanis: what is this 'can' you speak of?
To explain, they didn't plan this out from the beginning. They wrote themselves into a corner in that they needed someone Zeratul would trust after reading the Overmind's memories and to make him change his opinion on Kerrigan and the Swarm, and Tassadar was the only character they could think of.
Changing Tassadar's projection into a xel'naga taking on his form was a fairly clever saving grace on the writers' part though. The original Tassadar is well and truly dead after he drove the Gantrithor into the Overmind and channeled both High and Void (Dark) energies to destroy its own ability to reincarnate.
"Into The Void" is very hit and miss in regards to lore, but I will say this much... this is wonderful closure for Stukov.
Please do the Nova missions again, we need the story stuff

I actually think you SHOULD redo the nova missions for a few reasons:
1) it's a fun story with badass moments...i could honestly stop there, but I'll continue
2) you could go for the other achievements you missed
3) you could try for the mastery objectives
4) you've gotten MUCH better since 2 years ago and revisiting some of the missions you struggled with could prove a satisfying experience
5) some of your new fans (like myself) haven't seen them on their original upload and it would be interesting to watch present Lowko play instead of past Lowko
6) they actually updated a lot of details in the missions. Like the ghost visor now detects cloaked units
7) dat ass (Nova's of course)
Seriously, if you choose not to redo them, that's fine, but it would be fun, right?
TBH ever since Husky Starcraft left UA-cam I really didn't have any source of Starcraft until a few years later and now here I am watching lowko and for some reason when I watch one of your videos you reminded me of Husky Starcraft so Thank you and for all you've done on UA-cam

Oh yes Lowko. This 2.nd mission and cinematic are my almost favorite cinematic of all Starcraft. You will see this.

Aw you're not doing Nova's campaign again? I was looking forward to you understanding the Big Bad's motivation this time.
To be honest... That "villain" was shit. Especially after that cliche of cliches "You are not better than me" bullshit. That could have been so good, and yet it's just a series of cool maps with no real story attached to it. Although those maps are great. I especially like how full of details they are.

Yeah, that too... Blizzard did screw up. They had so much potential in that universe and they reduced it to just a cheesy love story with an ultimate evil guy at the end. There's a lot that could be done with what they had. For example, corrupting Khala is a great idea that got executed very well.
Depends. Amon's Motivation wasn't that bad.
Remember the missions from Zeratul in Wings of Liberty.. how he found Tassadar's spirit at the Overmind's corpse.
This is a continuation of that!

At the endo f story Raynor take Sarah K. uninfested and free. They leave and go on secret place. Why is he Raynor poor than ???

I always took that as symbolism for Raynor committing suicide. Bit dark but makes more sense.

I don't know about that. His body would have probably been found if he commited suicide, and the last line mentioning Raynor explicitly says that he "was not seen again".
I choose to believe that he wasn't just hallucinating.
Yeah. Someone would have found his body either slumped over the bar table, or in a ditch.
Kerrigan, meanwhile, is a Xel'Naga by the end of the story. And we have plenty of examples of their shapeshifting abilities. Duran, Narud, Ouros... Amon is also implied to have done it in the past, though doesn't do it in the games.
She would have the ability to whisk them away somewhere without anyone knowing it was them.
It takes a lot more assumptions to fit 'drunken suicide' with the 'never seen again' ending. Occam's razor being what it is, we should assume what happens is what is immediately apparent: A genuinely happy ending from a company who has a history of making bittersweetness.

The first epilogue mission is seriously one of my favorites. Lowko nailed it: it feels like an epic, combined assault, slowly taking territory, watching each others' backs, working towards defeating a common enemy.

Lowko got all of the expansion in this campaign. This is such a different playthrough from all those years ago, you have grown so much.

Its Probably easier to think of it as something along the lines of a VR game for the Xel'naga, their true form remains with in the void while they project an avatar of their self into the universe in which they want to interact, once the avatar is killed they basically log out and go back to the void.
Beginning cinematic gave me shivers
What I can see being really cool is havok's buffing Siege tanks
Thus ends Narud the Science Dude. I like this mission too with the way the three races fight together. The next one is probably the hardest in the whole game... you must endure, for the sake of all the pokey bois and probey bois!

I’m pretty crap at Multiplayer but I rarely ever lost on Co-op with Dragoon Swarm under Artanis and Alarak’s combo of mass Supplicants and some artillery for support was unstoppable every time.
Ancient Old Ones, living in a separate, dark dimension, having existed before humanity knew time, having been manipulated life since it began, and full of eyes and tentacles... Starcraft devs must have read a lot of Lovecraft.

Hubert Bernacki the secong mission is extrenely easy because you have a instawin button that you can press with no cooldown at all
Yh but it can't kill all the smaller units, so the second one is easily the hardest one
you can kill whatever you need to kill, big or small, untill you have such a dastardly amount of static defense that you base quite literally defend itself, you can pass it with 120 population in hard, i have done it.
It would be hard without kerrigans death beam, but with it? piece of cake.
none of them are actually hard :P 2nd mission is easy, spam siege tanks, command fortresses and place TONS of AA at the protoss base. #profit

lowko, when you kill a xel'naga in the actual world, they live on in the void, when u kill them in he void, they are just gone.
Have you noticed that Artanis always calls Raynor "friend" before adressing him? That's because protoss are VERY hierarchical but Raynor doesn't have a caste in protoss society, so Artanis just calls him friend =)
