I remember when I was attacked- at the age of 11 by a gang of school bullies. Couldn't fight all 8 of them, so chose to run away each time. As luck would have it, this emboldened the leader of the pack to think he could attack me by himself. My dad had always told me when tangling with a bully, make sure you hurt them worse than they hurt you. I got my attacker face down on the ground and rubbed his face into gravel. His howls were music to the ears, and he fled, sobbing, and bleeding, never to be seen again. Pain is the only language bullies comprehend.

I agree. The more a person could train to strike a target in various positions and situations the higher the percentage of survival. But, if a person does not have enough time to train or the willingness to do so, this system will give them the best odds at surviving a violent attack. Thanks for the comments. Coach David

I appreciate the compliment on my system. Thank you. As for getting sued, I cannot control what other people do. And statistically a child is more apt to "lose their eye site, suffer spinal injuries or worse..." from youth football, soccer and baseball than from coming across my system, sneaking around their parents and watching "How to Kill" videos, ignoring all the warnings, and then going out and injuring a fellow child. I appreciate the thought. Thanks, Coach David

I like the simplicity of this video. Simple is powerful. A point one of my buddies had to defend himself. He is six foot tall, and at the time he was a 3rd dan TKD. His opponent was smaller and not well trained. My friend was scard of killing this person with his training. This is a good example of a need to use less then extremely powerful moves to end the fight. He was over trained to use extremely violent moves. So he did not defend himself well. Being over trained can de bad to.

I think that Krav Maga is good, but wastes a lot of movements. You also need to be pretty strong and in shape to defeat a larger and more aggressive attacker using Krav Maga. My system takes away the strength advantage and gives the advantage back to you. Thanks for watching! How about a thumbs up? Coach David

About 15 years ago I had a guy high on meth break into my home at 3:00 am and attack me in my bed. I chose pepper spray instead of a gun, got rid of him, and then called the police to have the guy arrested (he was in my front yard at that point, rolling around screaming about his eyes). That was my biggest mistake; calling the cops and thinking they would be on my side. I cooperated fully and believe it or not, the attacker pressed charges against me, and the cops did everything in their power to try and find a reason to arrest me. They said that instead of pepper spraying the attacker (which did exactly what it was supposed to) I should have thrown a heavy book from my nightstand through the back window and escaped, from my bed, through the broken window. They screamed at me "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!! YOU HANDLED THIS SITUATION COMPLETELY WRONG!!!" Over and over for about 2 hours, from my kitchen table, in my bathrobe, I was ripped to shreads verbally by the cops. I am an upstanding citizen, I hold a high security clearance and lost it for 2 years until my lawyer, and about $14K in legal fees cleared this matter up. I have no doubt that if I would have shot the attacker, because he was unarmed, I would be in prison today. The moral of the story, DON'T think the cops are your friends, and get out of the habit of calling them altogether, they only compound the problem many fold. This incident happened in a major metropolitan city of 2 million, not some small town. I won't mention the name of the city, I don't want to wake up that sleeping giant. But this really happened, and it forever changed the way I deal with problems. Somebody with legal know-how, maybe even a ex-cop, needs to make a video on how to deal with cops. 100% of this has to do with their training as it wasn't just one cop treating me like this, it was 7 or 8 who showed up. I wasn't mouthy or talking loud, I was bleeding and had marks all over my face and upper chest. Even the firemen who were called took care of the attacker first because he was in the most pain.

@Jake L No, so the common American Woman. With there entitled attitude. Feeling like they can hit a man. And do whatever they want. With zero consequences. Doesn't try to sneak a nut shot. All because you turned them down. Or called a whore a whore. The last time a woman attempted that stupid shit on me. Her face was gripped and pushed one handed into a locker. She fell to her knees. And started crying like the little bitch she was. She had prior to this incident caught me two other times. And landed them properly. Just to make her friend's laugh. And the fact she was embarrassed I walked up to her. And her friends. And asked her out. She was so attractive to me. I remember she was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. But, anyway I had finally had enough. And I didn't care about the tears. Because she didn't care about my pain the last two times. When she actually got me. This third time. I don't know what happened. I wasn't trained at all. It was a defence mechanism to the remembrance of pain. But, whatever that's call d equality. Which woman want so bad now. But, they want it without any responsibility. Real men will correct them. They just need to run into one. And swing on him. I wish I could be there magically every time all over the U.S. Just to laugh. I'm Caucasian and I won't hesitate to tell everyone. That most Caucasian woman are trash. Good only to be used for sex. And left and forgotten about. Like they've all done to multiple people. And it's crazy because I don't hate woman. But, never have hesitated to put one in there place. After these school incidents I see how they really are. And I continued to see these zero self control animals. Manipulate and destroy men first hand for years. So, you can talk your talk. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But, if your woman is Caucasian she will never tell you the entire truth about anything serious. Guaranteed. It's sad that I still care and try. Lifes one hell of a trip. Am I right?

I'm not sure about using these strikes as entries. closing the distance to the eyes, groin or throat strikes without being struck yourself, or controlled by your attacker may be a little more complicated than this video suggests. The first thing you want to do if the attacker has a firearm is take control of the weapon. If you just turn around and poke his eye he will fire. In his mind he has the advantage. He's nervous, his adrenaline is up, and he probably has had no training with a firearm. So his finger is going to be on the trigger anyway. It's a dangerous situation all around. This B.E.T. system is good to a certain point. Remember, you don't have to use violence to solve every situation.

This is the most down to earth self defense I have ever seen (been a student since the 70's). Though I hadn't heard of David Alexander until a few days ago, I can openly say his method cuts to the chase with the least 'formal' training, is usable for women immediately, uses only standard motor skills abilities, and has only a few target acquisition requirements, which limits confusion on what to do. This makes it very efficient on top of the effectiveness. I take my hat off to David Alexander. Caveat: Yep, this isn't casual self defense; it's for life or death use only. Peace.

If somebody pulls a gun at you don't ever allow it to be aimed at you, if they have a dead aim on you, you are dead! If somebody pulls a gun and you are too close always go on the side and kick their feets than smash their head, do not try to take the gun as soon as you move the person will pull the trigger. If you are far from the person pulling the gun jump, roll, bob, weave and take cover. Only engage if the gunner is close and remember never go for the gun kick the feets and than smash the head.
If you are fighting somebody with a knife and you do not know any technics to disarm or parry a knife attack, poke the eyes or spit in the eyes and than kick the groin, and than a knee to the head or better smash the head or neck with your hand . When he goes down smash the neck and head several times until the target is neutralized.
Also use any tool around you as a weapon, you can take a chair if somebody is attacking you with a knife and than just leap forward and when he falls down smash the head.

Speaking as an experienced combat and street fighter , I like your ideas , and I don't do martial arts , but I have a question , the elbow strike to the windpipe for example , that's a single direct attack , so if your attacker is experienced , he will block that shot , and that leaves you in a bad position ! I have fought experienced guys and they are very good at percieving and nullifying things like that , so these moves are single direct moves , you couldn't pull these off on me , my perception , response , speed , etc , are too high to allow these moves to work , so how can you convince me that these simple moves would work for me ? Thank you and would like to see more , if you have DVDs , let me know how I could get them , thanks again

From my studies and training in WW2 combatives and TFT it's a damn shame people don't realize how simple self defense can be. All it takes is the knowledge of the vital targets of the human body and the will to attack those targets with everything you have during a violent encounter. Doesn't matter if they're a UFC fighter, bodybuilder, or a guy armed with a M 16, these tactics allow anybody to take anybody out of commission. As my mentor Carl Cestari said "Do your worst fast and first!"

They're already stabbing you. You say you don't teach techniques and yet you have videos up clearly showing striking techniques. like thie one entitled (HD) How to Fight: 5 Block to Hook targeting the mastoid process (behind the ear) .II'm not sure that you should be selling your dvd system as an answer for self defense. Self defense is really a matter of training and awareness. This seems more like selling false self confidence.

    Julius Williams,
The eyes are not the only target. Also, while you are attacking the target (eyes) the glasses could shift, fall off or you will go right through them with enough adrenaline and force. Even with glasses, the attacker will flinch exposing another target. Try it. Put on a pair of glasses then have someone go after your eyes and then a knee to your groin and see what happens. Like it or not, this is the best way that I have found for an average person to survive violence. CD

Colin D, My system is not "Defending", but attacking. It is not possible to defend against a "Bat, Knife, rock, bottle" because you will get injured and will probably not survive. We need to injure our attacker and get to the real weapon, which is the brain. In your scenario, it seems that their was time to escape. Always escape (unless other lives are on the line) if you can. And as for the legal aspect to this stuff if you find yourself in a situation where you are in immediate danger or fear for your life or that of your loved ones then you have the right to respond with deadly force if need be whether that comes in the form of just your bare hands or a weapon. The George Zimmerman verdict speaks volumes and is a huge victory for those of us in the self defense world. He shot a 17 kid who was beating him with his fists, still found not guilty :)!

Like ALL other systems trying to sell their system there's numerous assumptions not dealt with. The biggest assumption is that your attacker will be static so you can employ B, E, T. Not realistic and even worse it builds a false sense of security to those you're teaching. Most any system will work with a willing participant that feeds your techniques. Another assumption is that your attacker is unarmed. If your attacker has a knife with intent to harm or kill you then you have an entirely different dynamic. I'm not impressed whatsoever because it doesn't deal with the realities of an actual attack/fight.

In the 80s living in a South Bronx project, my high school daughter had embarrassed a neighborhood teen. The following morning, on the way to school, she felt him get close to her from behind. She then bent forward at the waist and grabbed his legs and pulled him to the sidewalk and kicked him into submission. Martial Arts for children, to me, is a given as it is done in Korea. It builds character and promotes health and maintains friendship. My teacher was Samuel Kuoha in the military. I also met Taimak & Fastfeet Fontanez; both of whom were in The Last Dragon movie. I was honored by knowing Professor Visitacion & Cowboy (Vijitsu) from Tracy Towers. In a way, we're all family.

There is one thing I would like to state about some of these things you say about multiple attackers if your choking someone out and are aware of the person behind you use your choke victim to shield you from his attacks which sets up opportunity to just shove your choke victim toward him and get on out of there but on another note I like your approach of things as well

I have been a victim a few times in my life. I am disabled, walk with a cane and am on the older side. For years I was an investigator for an attorney (very boring and usually nasty job) In my job I could legally carry a revolver, as long as it was totally concealed. The gun was basically useless. I was attacked by a teen in a “blood in “ attack. I was badly slashed, requiring nearly 70 stitches to close the wounds. I was able to thrash my attacker with my cane. This stopped the attack.Even though I had trained with different systems and with my weapons, the fight became feral at the start. I targeted his liver with my cane, these blows effectively ended the fight. He was arrested but the police and prosecutors both thought it best for him to plea out as they did not want to expose me or my family to retaliation. This was the outcome. Your system if based on what I experienced, you are basically alone and need to be able to face an attacker on your own. Excellent presentation.

    Sammy G,
I purposely do not try and show "techniques" because the target is more important than any technique. I do show "The Secret" and that is the main thing a regular joe needs to know in order to smash a target and cause the reaction chain to commence....target-reaction-target...etc... I discuss more in Disc-2 that you can rent for just $9 at HowtoKillwithYourHandsdotcom. Thanks for the comment, Coach David

There is an unlimited amount of situations, how is a non-athletic, probably overweight person with a full time job, kids and a mortgage going to learn all of those situations? My B.E.T. system is for the average person to learn a way to survive a violent attack in the least amount of time possible. I think if you watched disc 2 you would better understand why. Not everything is covered in the video above (Disc 1). Thanks for commenting. Coach David

  • @SelfDefenseandArchery
    @SelfDefenseandArchery  11 років тому

    Sammy G,
Anyone in a real knife fight is going to get stabbed or cut. You would need to be a serious knife defense expert and get real lucky by trying to control the knife hand or knife. As I explain in both Discs 1 and 2 (you can rent Disc-2 at HowtoKillwithYourHandsdotcom) that the knife is just a tool and the real weapon is the brain. Take out the brain and the knife does not matter. I appreciate you watching the video, but you might want to re-watch to understand the philosophy better.

  • @SelfDefenseandArchery

Disc 2 is still a part of this 2 Disc DVD set and includes me giving a private lesson to a client. It fills in a lot of the blanks that might be left watching Disc 1 of the 2-Disc DVD set. I think you might be referring to a separate DVD that is in the works called Rape Proof: How to defeat a rapist and survive a violent attack...self defense for women only. Thank you for the comment, subscribing and giving a thumbs up! It is appreciated.

I never was a strong proponent of strike, then run away. There are too many situations where this is not practical, such as in multiple attacker scenarios or when in a confined space.I also was impressed by your knowledge of striking one target to open up another and by the body's reaction to those strikes. So I say to you sir, very well done.
